In this video I’ll show you how to use fishnet stockings, spray paint, and vinyl to create a fishing lure tumbler! The possibilities are endless for these styles. Just search on any website for fishing lures and you’ll see all the color and style options out there! Some have gills, some have spots, some are just super duper shiny! You really can’t go wrong!

This is terrific! Seeing you struggle with the ruler (I would too!) made me think that a seam gauge (sewing notions tool) would work really well for that. I'll have to dig that out of my sewing basket. Thanks!

added decals after thin epoxy layer. So now I spray clear coat over decals before adding epoxy correct?

Ariz Vela I like to do that since some vinyl repels the epoxy.

Hey I’m trying to put a man fishing on a boat at sunset on a tumbler how would I do it

I would do the water/sunset then add a silhouette of a guy fishing somewhere about midway. Maybe even cut the bottom of the boat to look like waves? You definitely don’t want it to have the full curved bottom or it’d look like his boat was hovering mid air! 😆

After you did the paint did you put epoxy on before you put the decals

Trinity Romero yes. A thin layer. I’m paranoid that the transfer tape will damage the paint job. 😬

You can spray clear coat spray over epoxy?

Yes, I do it frequently. It’s a great way to make sure that you don’t have another oily spot that the epoxy might not adhere to. I would not use that as your final layer though. It will eventually rub off. But it definitely serves a purpose to prevent glitter moving before epoxy and help epoxy stick to vinyl.

The Purple Stitch Have you ever just sprayed clear coat on a plain non-sanded stainless steel Tumbler and then put a decal on it and then epoxy will it stick?

yes. But sometimes the transfer tape will damage the spray paint. Just be extremely cautious and you’ll be good. I did that recently for our UPS guys cup.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions! I don’t mind answering the ones I have answers for! I lean towards rest oleum 2X more than Krylon. That goes for my clearcoat and my colors in general.
