After almost a year, the Hemenway Fishing Pier is back in the water. Follow along as I make my way out to this part of Lake Mead for some pier fishing in summer. Will I be able to catch anything from the pier?

Great video!👍 Caught two small mouth last week there. They bit on anchovies. I was surprised. I also got four catfish, and a small striper!! Got there around 3.00 in the morning. Good times !!!

That sounds about right Tim. That early morning bite is the best. Every try dangling those green LED's lights of the pier to se if the fishing improves?

@@FinallyFishing No but I had a friend at las Vegas marina that would let me fish the lights there at the docks . I'd catch so many stripers I'd get bored. Lights do work. Try floating an old flashlight in the water somehow I'd bet you'd get results contraptions!!👍

Hey Joe. The Pier actually gets packed, but early mornings. Seems most people leave around 10.

Hi Vernon! Thank you very much for mentioning and adding a link to my video. 🙏 I believe they pulled back the pier about 30 ft or so from the time I shot my video to compensate for the rising water level. Thus, making it more challenging to reach the deeper water. I’m going to try to to use my longer pole next time to cast further to see if it makes any difference. Anyhow great video. Again, I appreciate you mentioning my channel and hope to see you on the water again. Take care.

Any time Busydad, you're doing good work out there. They actually moved the pier again after I filmed this. A longer pole should get the job done.

I was just there a couple weeks ago! Got skunked bad off the anchovies. Went around 10am so maybe bad time

Hey SaxMastahh, yeah I think the time of day is the problem. Normally around 8 or 9 the fish move out deep. best time to be out there is around 5 or 6. Low light conditions are always better for fishing.

Well good luck on your smally hunt Martell. Just be aware that they are hard to find in Lake Mead, it's sometimes easier to find them in Lake Mohave.

What tower is the pier in front of..? And is it easy accessible for 2 wheel drive vehicles?

Hey vrodfishing. Not sure what you mean with tower? This is the Hemenway fishing pier, between the Hemenway boat launch and Boulder Beaches. It's also called Special Events beach. But there are road signs down to the pier and it is the most accessible spot at lake mead. Any vehicle can drive down to right next to the pier, on well kept gravel road.

If you mean time of day, morning and afternoon. If you mean time of year, well in summer catfish and carp are good, and winter is good for stripers.

Thanks Suezette. And to be honest, I don't remember were I saw the circle hook trick, but it is a old fisherman's trick.
