He's only gone and bloody done it !! Hi Tom another great video well done on catching the Ray on your barbel rod and a good session all round can't wait to see video on hybrid dongle rig stay safe and tight lines
Another great video, Tom. To answer the question on working in the shop, I have to say that I have spoken to Tom in the shop, but there is a difference between “ working” and merely being present in the shop! Mrs Tom definitely works in the shop and provides the best mail order service...
great vid and humour as usual, fished southbourne friday evening and blanked but wasnt expecting much wirh rhe high pressure and north east wind but good to get out
Thank you mate. I like to try and think of things that maybe a few others can try too. I enjoy the variety of fishing we have available to us, be it species, venues or tactics.
Great stuff as usual Tom. Love your humour. I had a 70plus Stinger from the south coast in 2021 using my carp rods. I set myself a mission couple of years previous to catch a 50 with them but that was just ridiculous! 🙃
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 I wasn't meaning to brag,in fact I waffled on for far too long about sea fishing with carp rods and not needing to buy all new gear to fish the sea so shortened it down. Stingers a true story tho lol Jason G and Stevie Perry would confirm xx
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 Cheers man. Mad story that came with the ultimate ending. Five days camped on the beach for a couple of little males...drove home to Newark, then to Worcester next day for Dads funeral.Back to Newark and then at a loss went back to aldwick the next day...2nd night she appeared X
Interesting idea on the live bait rig. 🎣 Knowing my luck I'd catch a barbel! Tom, have you ever thought about doing a subscribers/shop customers local fishing comp?
We used to run a few comps through the shop, but we live in an area of very few match anglers. Having said that, I think there could be scope for more informal/social meets on the beach, with perhaps a little kitty for biggest/most fish.
And another comment I've completely missed.... Sorry matey! I use braid for my dongles, so just hook it on. I've just done a little live bait dongle vid, that may shed some light... Hope you're keeping well. Catch up soon.
Another brilliant fun and educational video dude, so thank you. That said ... I have to dispute your comment that you aren't "size-ist!", however, as when i checked the size of my bib and brace, you definitely told me I was LARGE!!!
Tell me, when should I not fish southbourne? I fished Saturday and didn't even get a bite. Most frustrating as I travel from Gosport. I have fished there and caught good fish. But fished a few times and not had any bites. Appreciate the advice. Vids are always entertaining
This video was on Saturday. The fishing was tough, with only small fish showing. It's difficult to give an exact answer, as there are so many variables with fishing. It could be a water craft issue, bait, rigs, distance etc etc. It's easy for me to find a few fish as I fish it so often, so know what, where, and how to approach it. Perhaps next time you're planning a trip, pop in the shop, and we can discuss rigs, bait, etc, in detail.
Assuming you mean a Bagnall Bar rather than an urfe? The bar won't bend because of your lead. I use 6oz more than anything. The lead is at the end of the bar, therefore can only pull it in a straight direction, it can't bend it in the middle. Hopefully that makes sense! They can bend if you get snagged in or tangled up, something that will put pressure on the middle of the bar.
hi tom, great video,s can you tell me where you get the springs for the bagnall bar .i havent been able to find any to fit the 316 wire. @@christchurchanglingcentre5428
A novel approach and one that I have tried; not easy on a mark that requires lifting a fish but great for beaches. Question, do you ever work in the store? 😜
Well that's ok then... However, you live and work on the South Coast which is famed for it's fine weather and exceptionally productive waters; smart move, I like it 😎 @@christchurchanglingcentre5428
