Jetty fishing with some different spoon mods that I thought could "change the game" (sarcasm). Got some 3 ounce gold spoons in the mail that I was excited to try out and also a lot of times I go out to the jetties the water is pretty stained and I was thinking some noise would be great to go along with the flash of the large spoon. So I added a chatter weight. Unfortunately the water was pretty nice colored but I still wanted to try it.

In central Florida we only use gold for reds. It's quite effective. Silver tends to land more speks and lady fish, but reds will hit silver as well.

I love it when I see real fishermen that get upset or disappointed when they lose a fish. Not that they lose the fish but that they have the attitude that they should never lose one. That is the kind of hard core I love.

Felt soled neoprene fishing shoes would do well on those algae covered rocks at the jetty. Cabelas or bass pro should have them at reasonable pricing. Nice bull.

I have a whole bunch of spoon lures but I've never caught a fish on any of them, I think the problem is that I usually do straight retrieves when it looks like I should be hopping it off the bottom. I'll definitely try that next time I'm out, and hopefully I can catch my first fish on a spoon.

I fish down here in SPI and the biggest rod I own is a medium as I love the fight however I know I’m asking for it too break if I ever hook a monster red or something, I’ve looked for surf setups and I think I finally found it thanks too you what action is the rod??

In Florida they sell the crocodile spoon made by Evans and that is a good spoon I caught a lot of reds and some big Gator trout on those spoons

Hey how far are you from lawson lindsey? You guys seem to catch alot of the same fish down there in Florida. Props to you, you got him beat by a few thousand subs. You should invite him down to the jettys for a 'friendly' competition to see who can catch the biggest red, snook or trout. That would be an awsome vid for us subscribers. It would have to be a 2 vid set. 1 with lawson and you on the jettys and the second with you two on lawson's boat hittin' up the docks and bridges. That shit would be EPIC!👍 I'm excited just thinking about it.

When you come to Florida leave that silver spoon at home. Gold all the way here. Silver is used for inshore/near shore pelagics.

Try spoons, when in doubt cast spoons, they work, I ve never caught anything on lures, but boight some abu garcia toby lures 28 grams and 40 grams, lost 2 big sea bass while landing (on the rocks) and landed a decent grouper, it was so fun ! My first time catching fish on lures (spoons) in salt water.
