This was a ship we spotted just as we were about to leave Holyhead after filming for another project. We saw the ship pass the breakwater, and head for the old harbour.
We chanced that we might get there in time, and be able get me into my wheelchair before it pulled into port so we could film it, and we're glad we tried. Luckily the ship was travelling pretty slowly, but we still only just made it.
The ship rounded the corner, past a ulility vessel (C Fenna), and into the harbour. Because the dockside was full, I'd had to park near the only empty harbour side spot I might be able to see her pass, thinking she would moor further down. To our pleasant surprise (we're rarely this lucky), she came about, headed right towards us, and started preparing to dock.
The deckhands appeared to be offloading scallops.
The ship is a trawler, built in 1991 and is sailing under the UK flag. She did however fly a Scottish flag, and the crew were definitely from Scotland. She is 24 meters, with a beam of 6.75 meters.
