The new Fisker Alaska is a no compromise, budget EV pickup. Unveiled at the eagerly anticipated Product Vision Day event in California, the Alaska makes a bold statement right from its very form - a seamless blend of size and functionality that challenges preconceived notions of what a pickup should be.
Measuring in at a length of (208.8 inches / 5,304 mm), the Alaska disrupts the norm by being shorter than most midsize pickups such as the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger. Yet, this deliberate departure from the norm is only the beginning. What truly sets the Alaska apart is its innovative extendable rear bed, a feat that transforms it into a pickup of unparalleled adaptability. The ingenious "Houdini" disappearing partition and the power liftgate allow the cargo area to expand from 4.5 feet to an astonishing 9.2 feet, offering a range of possibilities for transporting everything from day-to-day loads to larger cargo. And I will say this is pretty cool.
Now The exterior design of the Alaska is interssting the car looks super futuristic and from the back I like it, I don’t know how I feel about the front facia but design is difficult some people will love it and others wont. Anyways Alloy wheels ranging from 20 to 22 inches not only enhance the sporty proportions but also establish a unique visual identity. The sleek roofline, slim LED lighting units, and a high beltline contribute to an aesthetic that is both contemporary and timeless. This design ethos exemplifies Fisker's dedication to blending form with function in a manner that is both pleasing to the eye and efficient in performance.
Henrik Fisker, Chairman and CEO of the company, aptly describes the Alaska as a convergence of distinct attributes. He notes that the Alaska doesn't merely fit into a predefined segment; it carves out a niche by combining the features of a mid-size pickup with the capabilities of a full-size one. This convergence is beautifully realized through the expandable bed, offering flexibility that bridges practicality with versatility seamlessly.
Inside, the Fisker Alaska continues its mission of redefining norms. A generous infotainment touchscreen, positioned prominently on the dashboard, signifies a fusion of cutting-edge technology with driver-centric design. The interior space is thoughtfully organized, with the centerpiece being the "gulp cupholder” which is the biggest cupholder I have ever seen. I don’t even own a bottle large enough to fit that, but I guess some people are thirsty.
But the whole point of this truck is A focus on both aesthetics and utility and this extends to the seating as well. The seats, adorned with suede-style inserts, provide a balance between elegance and functionality. Specially designed pouches on the seatbacks and a "cowboy hat holder" on the roof above the rear bench seamlessly integrate tradition with modernity. Or maybe that’s what it should do, I just think it’s a little silly. I cant see anybody who wears cowboy hats frequently driving this. Maybe im wrong but in my head they all have massive ford f350’s. But its still atleast they are trying to broaden their clientele
But enough on design and feutures, what powers this thing? Well Underpinning the Alaska's exceptional performance is the foundation of the Fisker Ocean, the Alaska promises to deliver a harmonious blend of "sporty handling and driving dynamics" coupled with the "luxury SUV comfort" that Fisker is known for. This convergence creates an experience that transcends utility, offering a harmonious marriage between performance and luxury.
The Fisker Alaska derives its power from two distinct battery pack options: 75 kWh and 113 kWh. These batteries offer an impressive electric range of 230 and 340 miles respectively, catering to the demands of commutes. And with 340 miles you can use it for longer journeys ,although it might be a but frustrating with current charging tech, and many broken or out of order chargers, especially outside of major states. Anyways this truck wont be slow, using the same 564HP motors found in the Ocean Acceleration is instant, with the Alaska accomplishing the 0-60 mph sprint in a range of 3.9 to 7.2 seconds, depending on the chosen battery variant.
As the Fisker Alaska embarks on its journey towards production, it is worth noting that it will be crafted on American soil, reinforcing Fisker's commitment to local manufacturing. Anticipated to begin production in the first quarter of 2025, the Alaska will bring its promise of sustainability and innovation to life, with deliveries scheduled for the same year. The starting price of $45,400, makes it the cheapest option when looking for a fully electric pickup.

The anchor points for the cowboy hat holder will be used for aftermarket gear such as gun cases n such. It's the ancor points that makes it special. I don't think anyone will ever use that hat holder for hats😂. But aftermarket accessories are going to be crazy😮😮🔥🔥

Actually, there are trims of the F150 Lightening at this price, which even qualifies for federal incentives

Good review, thanks. I agree with you about the looks of the front end, it looks like it doesn't know whether it is coming or going. 👍

This EV got fake styling vents and scoops that serve no purpose because they wanted to give it more edges...

Thanks for sharing, I'll stick with my Civic for now, no pure EV has convinced me yet, waiting to see what solid state batteries will bring.

I'd buy it, for $45k. I don't need a pickup per se, but when you need one, $45K is better than $90K+! I expect that VW will make a pickup version ID, here in the US at some point. They have been making small pickup trucks globally, but thanks to the"chicken tax", they haven't made one in the US since 1984. And, since they've teamed up with Ford (sharing the ranger platform), I expect to see VW pickups return to the US soon.

A gigantic unnecessary SUV/Truck & "Sustainability" do not belong in the same sentence regardless if EV or not. Saudi money can revitalize alot of dead bankrupt businesses like Fisker.
