Bought my charge 6 5 months ago and after fully charging it it recently all of the sudden it was DEAD. Had to call and get a replacement. I dont swim or shower with it, and am older. Very disappointed.
The upcoming premiere of Charge 6 is a good time for this nice channel ;) In September, I returned Charge 5 under warranty due to battery degradation (It lasted 3 days), I have already received an e-mail from Fitbit about replacing the device. Who knows, maybe I'll get charge 6... But the chances of that happening are close to zero ;)
@@wearablewhisperer Fully deserved :) Well, I used sense 2 for about 3 months, I was quite disappointed and went back to charge 5. Currently, I am most interested in: garmin vivoactive 5, garmin venu sq 2 and fitbit charge 6. But if I get a new fitbit 5 under warranty I'll stay with him for another 2 years ;)
The band connection on my Charge 5 was pretty terrible and unreliable, so I went with a 3rd party band that encapsulates the tracker. I hope this is improved. My C5 won't hold a charge after 2 years (I was careful with charging, rarely charging over 80%), I hope the battery chemistry is improved.
Hello ... not finding the answer to this easily: can I set the display to show my clockface only, with step count running in background, rather than changing to exercise stats every time exercise is detected?
Let me test the heart rate accuracy of the 6 before I answer that fully. I’m personally mostly interested in the physical button and potentially more accurate heart rate during vigorous exercise. Otherwise, for over two years since the 5, it doesn’t seem like they’ve changed too much…
Unfortunately, you can’t. The top 5 most recently used will appear on the first screen, then you tap “more” to get to the alphabetical list of the rest of the shortcuts. I demonstrate this in my review video if you want to see what it looks like.
Charge 6 only comes with small wristband as standard. Tried both Amazon and Google store. Google say it comes with two option as per past models, but no option on either seller to be large size. Complete joke!
If the logarithm is improved, why don't they download it to the other devices as well because the logarithm is a program, not hardware! Just noticed my target removed all tracker watches and acessories for sale! Online they had only the versa charge cord and the fitbit charge 5. Sense and older watches discontinued! Google sent me a replacement charge cord for a defective design for my sense!!! The pins break off and dead skin cells accumulate in the indents on back of watch preventing charge unless cleaned monthly! Future watches need to be designed to have a glass back with magnetic charge base to eliminate the problem! They also need to come up with better watch bands! Leather, stainless steel, or treated cloth would be nice! The Horween leather cracks and rots in 4 months! Many people are allergic to silicone and medical treatment is expensive!
The could easily bring the hr algorithm, google maps, google music and google wallet to the Fitbit Charge 5 via software update, but they won't do it because they need to sell hardware to make money, very greedy. One solution could be for them to offer a Charge 5 software update with the new features for a $15 one time payment or something like that, I would pay that to get google maps and improved HR algorithm.
@@wearablewhisperer exactly, marketing works and people will be upgrading, Facebook marketplace and eBay will be flooded with Charge 5s in a couple of weeks and eventually they'll end in in a landfill because no one will buy them. Google could just do a software upgrade for a fee and do their part to save our plane, but they're too greedy
I never use the rubber bands either and always get the fabric ones. Like you, I would prefer the fabric band as default, too. I'm tempted to preorder the Charge 6 now since the bands from the Charge 5 can use on the Charge 6. That's a tiny bit of money saved there. No button on the Charge 5 is kind of finicky for my use case so the button on the Charge 6 is a nice to have.
I just got one with a $100 credit google gave me from them backing out of the free pixel program So considering I only paid $60 it feels like good value, let’s see how long until google kills its Fitbit division and we’re all left with a fancy paperweight
FITBIT Watchbands routinely break, falling off your wrist and never to be seen again. I am about to buy my 5th Fitbit in 7 years, ALL of the others fell off and were lost - Usually, about 30 days after the warranty runs out. Yeah, it's dumb to buy another but I don't want to break in another brand.
@@wearablewhisperer You are lucky, I believe it is a common complaint - at least when I looked up the issue. I could be very wrong, but I thought I saw a Class Action Suit on the issue. I am not hard on the bands, I have watches decades old with no problems. They could fix this is if it weren't so profitable.
Impressive. I wasn't expecting Fitbit to put out another Charge. The improvements definitely make it an appealing fitness tracker. Reminds me of my Fitbit Charge HR days.
My first Fitbit was the Fitbit Charge. I actually got it at a flea market. It didn't come in its original box and I didn't know it was a fitness tracker. I thought it was a cool digital watch. @@wearablewhisperer
@@wearablewhispererI have the Charge 3 and I have really loved it but the screen is fading quickly. In the market for a new watch and really struggling to decide if I should stay with fitbit or look elsewhere
well if this acts like fitbit 5 than is garbage, expensive and after 6months of free premium, cost you 10$ per month to use the watch at full potential in 2 years of use it will get more expensive as an apple watch, can't record oxygen level whenever you want, it does it only during sleep. bad EKG recording, doesn't recognize any workouts and it has only 5, walking, running, swiming, biking, weight lifting. but everything has to be started before it get recorded except steps. Doesn't hold charge if you have it always on screen even is dimed at minimum (max 2 days). so basically if you decide to buy this product you will have heart rate, steps , and time at a very expensive price. also not to forget to mention you don't get notify your subscription will be renewed automatically with no refund policy, even if you are not in the possession of their product anymore. at this price point if you have an Iphone you could go for a apple watch even older versions. I got it as a present and I'm trying to sell this garbage and now I'll go for a apple watch after trying my girlfriend device.
We are a family of three and each one had a Fitbit Charge 5. They look nice and we felt good about doing something good for our health. However we discovered that our so called "Health Mesurement Systems" (aka Fitbit Charge 5) do radiate 24/24 on WLAN and Bluetooth, so even when we sleep, and the WLAN and Bluetooth can not be switched off. Our boy said he could feel something strange about the radiaton. So we understood we had to change brand. We now use the apple watches and use them in the airplane mode and are finally happy.
