Same here. Pull ups killed me. I did sets of 5. I knew those would kill me as I am normally good for 10-12 ok ones. Everything else was easy but so much time would have been saved if I could do set of 8 or 10 for the first few rounds.

Tried it today. 29:45. Insanely happy to be below 30 mins. I found a pretty decent way for my body to complete the sets. First 20 sets of 3 for pullups with squats and situps in sets of 5. Then 20 sets of 2 pullups matched with 20 sets of 5 pushups. Actually for me it was the pushups that was the showstopper

For the average tier folks like me, set a timer and do 5 of each on the minute for 20 minutes. Spacing like that will give plenty of time to regain energy in between sets and consistent reps of 5 will help you push through

I got 9:53. For me, the trick was to do the pullups in small increments but more often, using the other exercises as rests. So for the first 90 I did 5 pullups, 15 pushups, 5 pullups, 15 situps, 5 pullups, 15 squats. Once you hit 90 you can do 5 pullups, 10 each of the other three, and finish with your last five pullups. I also had to do them all in pretty much the same spot. All that moving around Magnus did would be harder.

Great performance! This is similar to a famous CrossFit workout called Cindy. as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of: five pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 squats. you can do butterfly pull-ups, but the chest has to touch the floor on the push-ups, and the squats are below parallel. 20 rounds is a solid result. If you get close to that, doing strict pullups, that's very impressive.

For the squats - your foot arches are collapsing on the way down, focus on screwing your feet into the floor, and by that I mean pushing your feet (and toes) into the floor while trying to twist your feet outwards - this will help keep your arches up and push your knees out which will be much better for you!

You know what, Magnus? I think this is a great thing to do when no one has nothing to do during the pandemic. I've been practicing for American Ninja Warrior since March 2020, and I'm in great shape. Never stop that awesome hard work. What I usually do to train for American Ninja Warrior is by doing this schedule: Workout for Mondays and Thursdays: 1. 3 mile run 2. Burpees 3. Mountain Climbers 4. Shoulder Presses 5. Hammer Curls 6. Push-ups & 7. Pull-ups Workout for Tuesdays and Fridays: 1. 4 mile run 2. Bicep Curls 3. Up-Right-Rows with Plies 4. Tricep Dips 5. Jumping Jacks with Hand Grips 6. Hip Pumps with Squats & 7. Side Presses Workout for Wednesdays and Saturdays: 1. 5 mile run 2. Tuck Jumps with Hand Grips 3. Sit-ups 4. Bench Presses 5. Skull Crushers 6. Tuck-ups & 7. Pike-ups I always take Sundays off, except when it's Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and the first Sunday of May. But when this pandemic is over, I'm going to do more training, such as training on some of those obstacles in The Ninja's Edge gym, rope climbing, climbing trees, and more. I currently use 25 pound weights. You think you can do all that training?

The time between the four different types of moves is important, but if you can organise it "correctly" you might be faster with 100 sets of 1. 1. start with the pull up 2. when dropping down from this you immediately bend your knees for the squat ... 3. after getting back up again "roll" on the back to do the "crunch" 4. roll over for the push up No idea if this would work, but if you can create a fluid motion you would not exert one muscle "a lot at one time".

Thanks for the lockdown workout idea! Will try it when I go into quarantine (might swap the pullups for something easier though) 🤔

Your pull ups are always the best. You always pull all the way to your upper chest.

Awesome challenge! It looks super tough, honestly. The 100 pull-ups would be my crux. This sounds similar to the nightly exercise routine you mentioned previously.

Yeah good job Magnus! I've just got a sub 10 min with this method: 2 x 9 (18) *2x9 reps of each 4 exercises, etc 3 x 8 (24) ...decreasing to 5x6 reps 4 x 7 (28) 5 x 6 (30) = 100 The reps gets easier. There's a bit more time to rest the arms between the pull ups and less transitions, but your strategy is great also... You're a beast man! ;)

Dude I was just typing about the squat form then you mentioned it lol. It's way easier and better if you squat as if you are sitting down, you don't sit down with knees flexed as forward as yours are. Anyway, I love the channel and I love your passion for perfection. Stay safe buddy

Attempt 1: started with 15 pullups straight. Did not finish the challenge 😐 Attempt 2: sets of five all the way. Time of 18:16. Pullups got hard at 60

Good choice of movements, plus it was very wise to use that sit-up variation, more of crunches, actually. (Classic sit-ups may harm your spine. It'd better be replaced by “feet to the bar”.) And the proportion 50:100:300:300 (or rather 50:300:100:300, because the order Magnus did in the second circuit - like on the plate at 6:58 - is more effective) sounds more reasonable than 100:100:100:100. Anyways, it's a great one. Timed execution of 4 basic fitness movements - that's exactly the challenge everyone should try once in a while.
