Fitting A Rolls-Royce Engine Into A Military Vehicle! - FV432 Armoured Personnel Carrier

Today our plan was to take our K60 Rolls-Royce engine and fit it back into our FV432 Armoured Personnel Carrier . Of course it is never that easy with tanks and other military vehicles so typically we had to fix the oil filter which has a damaged seal. Thankfully it wasn't too hard and we managed to get it all up and running again in record time!

Changed many of these in the field in the 80's In W Germany usually in the rain dark and a muddy field/ wood, at least we had beer (herby pils in the yellow handbag) and plenty of egg banjos

Brings back memories ! I used to own an early FV 432 Mk1 with the petrol B81 Mk 8f in it. Sold it on about 20 years ago

Hello y'all, those prop shaft nuts, try using a "crow's foot" wrench on your ratchet, might help in that situation, they've been useful to me in similar constraints. Cheers!

Did they modify the governor's on the K60? They used to be notorious for failing resulting in a runaway.

They do pay for themselves but our tank driving activities help fund them while the restorations are on going

Most fv432’s were refitted during the late 90’s a few years before being sold to the general public. During this they removed the asbestos

some many videos of 432#s being fixed these days then no mention of them again so imguessing this is of to the east for its final days. at this rate thier gogin to get very rare.

Did an power pack change in field on ex got all fitted reme left went to drive off no drive engine disconnected had to remove power pack to reconnect engine to gearbox😢😢

It’s annoying when you have done a pack lift and then end up having to take it out again because someone missed something when fixing it!
