Nice vid...It's actually an old SW-Motech EVO rack system, modified in the rear loop to accomodate the longer tail of the 1050 DE. Same for the panniers and top case, they are re-branded SW-Motech TRAX ADV. I have to admit that it looks more robustly attached to the frame than the GIVI I placed on my 1050 DE last week, for which GIVI didn't even bother about the longer tail of the DE, and thus their rear loop hangs attached between the left and right racks, under the mudguard, all by itself. Lame effort, GIVI !
Thanks a million for this Richy just used the link and there is no discount I used google chrome and Safari just in case it’s the browser issue. I will be ordering one for my 2022 1050xt I already have the boxes like yours Cheers again. Paul
It doesn’t matter what hard luggage is fitted to a bike , the thieving scumbags can break into it in seconds. If I want to fit luggage ,I just fit a plastic streamlined Givi or other plastic butty box ,& strap on or bungee soft luggage as needed. I like Suzukis especially all the V Strom range from 250 all the way up to the big boy job . They are reliable & great value for their price points , the only thing is their OEM extras are well over priced & rip off . I reckon the cheap big square metal & plastic constructed ,pannier & top butty box kits , available on interweb ,are no worse or easier to break into ,than the OEM or posh aftermarket ones . They are probably all made in the same Chinese factory’s for a fiver each also .
Great vid. I think reversing the bolts that hole the top box locking clamp will make it less easier for theft of said top box. Or am I wrong? Probably domed bolts with nuts on top might be the best. What do u think Richy? Or can't the bracket and bolts be removed as it is?
The black boxes do look nice and the fact they open on top is even better, I've got the Triumph expedition luggage on my 1200 Explorer XC, while they look good, I realised how impractical the panniers are because they open on the side, if you want to get anything out the panniers they have to come off the bike otherwise everything falls out
Nice video Richy they look good on the bike. Sorry but my over active brain engaged and I thought Ooooooo that would look good if the indented 'X' where Suzuki is written on the luggage would be nice in the same blue as the bike and the Suzuki part of it in white for contrast. Sorry hairbrained idea engaged with no thinking involved. Keep them video's coming keeps me occupied whilst trying to get myself motivated to get back on my bike. Have a great and safe trip.
The luggage is the same as I have fitted to my 2022 xt they are very robust it looks like you have good clearance from your can unfortunatley me and Sue have just come back from our 23 day tour and my quill can was a little high and a spirted motorway ride in 40 degree heat took its toll with the exhaust heat fried the righthand inner lower plastic corner piece and the righthand indicator tip. Oh well we live and learn the can has had a longer mounting strap fitted and I will be ordering a new indicator tomorrow. 3992 mls were covered 90% on back roads and unamed roads the motor and chasiss are brilliant so enjoy Spain and the bike.
Bikes looking bloody great. I think they might scratch easily like everything else these days , but time will tell. You got a great setup there Richy for picos. Take care, stay safe 🏍👍👌
Hi Rich - firstly well done for this nice wee vid - and for having the patience to get the job done. And the finished article is lovely the boxes look real nice - But here’s my gripe I’ve had KTM Super adventures for a while now - and I know all about the pros and cons of owning these bikes - I take the boxes off and on a lot - frankly I can’t be bothered with all the faff that goes along with most manufacturers panniers and top boxes - as you know ( cos u no almost everything about bikes ) KTM have a great system for the luggage on and off. Even with a GS if u take the boxes off you still have all the ugly scaffolding to ride around with. Am I missing something Rich - why don’t all the main manufacturers do it the KTM way??? There must be a reason ?? Cheers “🥃 “Whisky Out…
