I actually went back post making this video and did loctite the bolt that has loctite on it just to be on the safe side! :)

Good looking protection. I would prefer no logo on them myself but that wouldn't keep me from having them on my Z if I had one 😄.

It is indeed! You can actually remove the sticker I believe pretty easily if you wanted to :) So you have the best of both worlds!!

Good vid, seems a cost effective and worthwhile addition (when compared to actual case replacement, with possible additional damage due to direct case impact), even if you didn't intend to go on the track. They look good, too, IMO. Looking forward to next jobs. Cheers, Andy. Oh, and I totally empathise with the back problems, having just tweeked something myself (bent over to pick up a cup from the coffee table and bloody ouch!!). Now house painting jobs on hold, delaying bike jobs again 😢. Hey ho, at least I'm allowed to sit about for a while, haha.

Very good value for money especially when I have the existing scratches to hide! :) I agree, very happy with the looks of them :) Ah balls I hope you get better soon! It's an absolute pain, even driving the bloody car is not so easy at the minute. Improving tho thankfully. Go get better and enjoy your sitting youve been busy lately!

I am extremely excited to try the springs. It already handled the track fairly well given how insanely undersprung it was! Can't wait to test it :)

They look neat and tidy and worth having. I'm wondering are the instructions really necessary at all? I certainly don't think you needed them. My own opinion is that as soon as you're going to remove one bolt from any engine you should be reasonably competent at working unguided and have basic engineering problem solving skills. But that's just what I think.
@TheGorillaBiker

For track definitely worth having. For me? No, I have the service manual for torque specs and everything else was pretty self explanatory. HOWEVER! For anything out there good service texts should exist, every good mechanic or engineer has technical documents and service manuals etc. I wouldn't touch a machine in work without electrical diagrams, P&IDs etc. Not only that but they're not very clear and call for items not sent as part of the package so either leave it out entirely OR fix them. Preferably fix them. I was more laughing at the paper saving thing that saves 0 bloody paper :D

I'm in complete agreement with you and it did all look self explanatory. I wouldn't for one moment suggest you yourself were not competent at all. I just didn't realise you were referring to the instructions in jest, I thought you were affirming that the instructions were useful and should be followed. Sorry about that, old and tired.
@TheGorillaBiker

Oh you're grand I didn't take it that way at all!! I was assuming you just meant were they needed at all. I do think anything sold direct to consumer should have instructions though, even the most competent people(not me) may have never done that particular job before so good instructions are helpful. Don't be apologising!!

Great video as always. What make and model is your fancy torque wrench you are using in this video? Very handy to have. Greetings from Dublin, Ireland 😁👍

Why thank you good sir! I'm not sure actually I bought it a while ago, I think it's a King Tony, they have a shop in Youghal and my Dad used to live there. Spent way too much on tools in that place :D Ah now you think I don't remember where yer from :D

Lowsides, and highsides, it always amazed me that both my Yamahas survived relatively unscathed. They certainly sustained less damage than I did. They never had any damage to casings. Maybe I was just lucky. I like the look of these R&G items. These may be more vital on the road. When you go down on the public highway the surfaces are never as flat and slidey as a track, and there are always things like curbs and cat eyes and drain covers to rip bits off your bike. Not a fan of bobbins, I always visualise them catching and spinning and flicking the bike. The bikes leave the factory designed to slide the insurance companies demand it. Another good useful video. Thank you. 👍

That is impressive! Low sides ives seen plenty of holes in cases in tracks, altho i do think a lot of that was caused by gravel run off. Generally yes the rider takes the brunt eh! Once the bike doesn't slip then no matter what you do you have a bit of fixing to do! They make a very solid product I had their spools for years. True enough, I think they're not a bad idea any way you slice it honestly surprising they don't come stock on a lot of stuff now. Yep and I learned that with the gsxr! Was lucky I didn't damage the frame. Without the bobbin it'd have been grand. Thanks :)

Another though this morning. My FZR had a cheap as chips fibreglass race fairing. One piece replacing 6 pieces of very expensive plastic. I wonder if the race fairing being flexible and in one piece was able to move and absorb the energy of the impact, and slide more easily than the oem one?@@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 6 месяцев назад
Sorry I missed this! And yes, mechanically that would make sense that being a flexible one piece it'd move more without cracking.

Sounds like you have a bit of a cold. The instructions were silly. A bunch of QR codes they could have stuck on their website or emailed to you. Man that Z900 is growing on me with each vid you make. I feel your back pain issues. Just a little less now that I have a bike lift!!! That's a cool torque wrench, yells at ya. OC: It's nice having a bike that has a decent after market following for sure.

Good spot. Was also recovering from being essentially dead Friday and Saturday. I've been having a good time lately 😂😂😂 Exactly. Stick the QR code on the backside of the covers even! Oh just wait......just wait until Uber Z is born and you'll be heading out to buy one 😂 Yes. Very handy wee tool. Id love a bike lift but my little stool will do me for now 😂 Yes. You have picked good bikes for that over the years eh :)
