hi i have a 17 sk for cutting and a 14 sk for this season and will be using the 14sk solely for verticutting ,scarifiying and the broom would you recomend removing the front roller and using this kit to allow easier access to the lawn rather than the roller flattening it prior to removal

Got this fitted today and it works a treat for longer grass and to cut the stalks of meadow grass without the front roller flattening them before blades. Have to say though £45 for these is very expensive. Definitely shouldn’t be anymore than £20 for a couple of plastic wheels and bolts.

do you remember at what height of cut the grass was when you attached the wheels?

@@Jgarthebeast the wheels don’t affect height of cut. They replace front roller so grass isn’t getting flattened before the cut. You just adjust the height of cut as normal.

I bought an Allet 35 last year and did not receive the wheel kit. I have been in contact with Allet about this problem, but they have not told me about this kit.

I was in a similar situation. Phoned the parts department at Allett. Received the parts the next day. Great service from them.

@@colinj1610 You were lucky they were no help to me at all when I phoned the number given, I had to find a local dealer 15 miles away, go and order the parts and then pick them up a week later, I wasn't very impressed with Allett, maybe because I couldn't afford to buy the mower new?

canalboating very strange, they couldn’t have been more helpful when I rang them. They knew I had a second hand one. Maybe you caught them on a bad day..!! Parts ordered yesterday, arrived today.

I have a Qualcast classic petrol 35, and was interested in getting the auxiliary wheels for it... as the front roller is a metal rod with the plastic rollers on it (similar to Allett classic) what Qualcast had for this was 2 wheels like the ones in this video, and a long tube to keep them apart on the front (roller) rod, when I was trying to buy them online - Amazon calmed to have them (in-circling them in a picture of a parts diagram) but said they were currently unavailable, obsolete - 🙄 as with the mower itself = replaced with the Allett classic 35. Now I watched another of Alletts videos and they said the wheel kit was available - can be fitted to the Allett classic, so they would be compatible with the Qualcast classic petrol 35? replacing an obsolete part of that mower. We have a rotary blade lawnmower so that deals with the long grass problem, but I have found that the wheels are recommended for use with the scarifier cassette that I do use the Qualcast for

Maybe an off topic question but will the back roll take damage if you move the mower across the concrete or asphalt floor?

Hi yes it will be fine however you can roll on the front roller to save scratching it or make yourself a makeshift cart to wheel it around

I did cringe a bit when the handle was scraped across the patio, would recommend a soft mat or doing this on the grass. 🤔🫣

Very expensive set of wheels for what they are and a very time consuming process. Such a shame for a premium product. I will continue to just do a ‘wheelie’ to lift the front roller up to cut long grass.
