I thought of buying one of these used. Gut the whole inside. Take out all the tanks and stuff. As long as I had solar for power, 5 gallon bucket to shyt in, and bed sleep on would do just fine for me. Couldn't imagine living full time in these with my f150 with all that weight

Thanks for the comment. I can say I have slept in worse, that's for sure. No, I don't think I could live out of this unless it was absolutely a have too situation, then I could be fine with it. Thanks again

I have a Nissan titan xd 2018 with a palomino 690 HD with a 14 enclosed trailer v-nose and I got my tie down system from e-trailer they had for the titan and I put on air bags for stability it works perfectly

Thanks for the comment. I ended up getting the airbags from E-trailer (shown in another video), and they work great. Nobody made the tiedowns for the 2024 XD. We searched high and low. I don't know what was different, but they said even the 2023 would not fit. So we had to improvise. Thanks again, JF

Great video. Thanks for sharing if the actuators go bad can you raise and lower manually?
@meandherafterkids

Thanks for the comment. I have not seen any way to to that and it's too heavy to do by hand. As long as 3 still work I think it will still raise. I might aught to buy one or two and keep them stored just in case. Thanks again, JF

They all still work because you didn’t have them exposed to the elements, but in a real life situation where they’re going to get rained on water is going to sit down into them and see everything up. The actuators are horrible.

Thanks for the comment. After reading all the horror stories, I cross my fingers every time I hit the button. Even though it stays tarped for the winter, it stays out all summer and gets rained on, so the fear is real. Thanks again, JF

@@meandherafterkids there’s a guy that has a channel called outdoors in Oregon. He goes over those actuators. He also found a site that sells just the motor for $30. It’s a very easy install. I would paste the link up myself, but I’m not sure how to do that but if you check out his channel, he has the links to the site up there and he’s very knowledgeable man I’m ordering one for the right and one for the left side just to keep as back up.

Thanks for the information. I have looked at the motors and it does look like a easy replacement job. I carry way too many tools with me every where I go for all those unseen issues anyway. I want to get a couple of motors for the "just in case" issue as well. Just like I keep a extra toilet valve. Before long I will need to pull around a small enclosed trailer for all my extra "OMG" moments. Thanks again

What is the width of the basement area that goes into the truck?

Not 100% sure. I know it fits between the fender wells on a full-size truck with a couple of inches to spare on both sides. I believe the measurements are on Palomino's website. Thanks for the comment.

probably needs higher and fatter bump stops on the rear leaf springs will help greatly with the squatting.

Thanks for the comment. I thought about that, but didn't want it to constantly bottoming out on the bump stops. I have priced air bags from etrailer.com and on the Nissan they are bolt on without any cutting or drilling. I think I am going to go that route. Thanks again, JF
