Ironically I did just the opposite mode about 2 years ago. I had an Octane that I put Scout wheels on. Just changes the whole look. Looks like your mode did the same 👍👍
That tire and rim combo looks sweet! Hard to believe what a couple more spokes does. The only thing that looks like crap is that sticker in the back fender! Lol. Glad to see you again. Till the next one!
Jay love the bike I'm hoping to get a scout in April 2021. Keep up the good work maybe see you on the road one day. Okanagan Valley is a beautiful place lol
Hey Jay, Cool look. Watched your other video putting a 180 on the stock rim. Would a 180/65 on a 5.5" wheel clear the fender?. I read that the effective width of a tire would differ with rim width. Have you ever noticed any change, with first job and now given, the tires are same and there is a of difference 1" between stock and Victory alloy.
How does the bike handle/ride with the new arrangement? Is it "lighter/"faster" on curves? I mean because of the narrower track on tires. Also can you lean a bit More?
Miss seeing ya on RU-vid Jay. Still riding the Scout Bobber? I need to switch out my rear tire on my bobber and wanted to know your thoughts on going up a size or two.
Any updates on how you like these tires? I was hoping you were going to show the stock wheel and tire next to the Victory to see if there was a height difference. Was also wondering how much clearance you had in the sub frame. Any rubbing? They sure look good, that's for sure. Stay safe bro
Hey Jay, are there any other rims that would also work with the 180s and be plug and play on the stock bobber? Seems those Octane Victory rims are hard to find.
Great episode, love the look . Be interesting to see how the new rubber handles and wears. By the way they are called "Cush" not crush, pucks or to be pefectly correct Indian calls them "Puck-Cush Drive", just sayn.
Matthew Piper it’s funny. When I was looking there were quite a few on ebay. Since I’ve heard guys have been having a hard time finding them. The ones I bought were used.
Main reason was i wanted to go back to a knobby tire and there are just not many options on a 16' rim. A happy bonus was i really like the looks too! I still have the cobras and will probably run them again. Even with the new rear wheel i still put a 180 on it.
Yes. Wheels are still on the bike. Honestly other than the looks they function just like stock. Little bit less sidewall on the tires I’m running right now. But I am not a good e light rider to ride this bike at its limits to really know a difference. I would say to hold out for used ones. Took me about a year to find both. But I’m into both wheels for about $300.
Hi! New to your channel, and was referred to you by Open Roader! Don't necessarily know if this is the right place to be asking this question, but do you have any info on the Big Bore kit for the indian? Any info would be absolutely wonderful.
TYLERTW24 I have been very keen on doing it myself. And will def make a video of it if I do. Revolution performance is the company that does the kit. I believe it’s $1200USD. You remove your cylinders and ship to them. They machine the bore larger and send them back to you along with new pistons and rings. You would need enough engine building knowledge to disassembled and reassemble as well as grind and set your ring gaps otherwise you’d have to have it installed by a shop. It seems guys are seeing 110hp and 90ft/lbs. That’s with the big bore, intake, exhaust and tune. For comparison I have 95hp and 70ft/lbs with intake exhaust and custom tune
TYLERTW24 I’ve talked to them on the phone but there are a few others that have this installed on their bikes. Hatt on Indian motorcycle forum Or Beast mode scout on Instagram.
@@jay_fast i appreciate the speedy and helpful responses! Huge amount of respect to you and open roader. You've totally earned a new subscriber. Look forward to seeing more videos from you. Safe riding, stay frosty!🙏
TYLERTW24 thanks man! It’s the least I can do. If someone takes the time to write me I will always do my best to write back. I appreciate the support !
I can’t confirm that. As I’ve never done it. But the wheel. Brakes. Crush bushing. Wheel bearings And the drive pully. Are all interchangeable as far as I’ve found. The octane pully does have a different tooth count though. So may change the gearing a bit.
Yes and no. Everything is an exact match. But the octane wheels came with bearings already installed. They seemed in good condition so I used them. I purchased some new ones from the dealer just incase prior to starting the swap. They were the same part number for the scout/octane. It’s a direct bolt up.
@@johnherrmann9961 I got mine on eBay. Minor scratches. I think I got lucky. Paid $98 for the front. And I think I paid about $168 USD for the rear. These bikes have had a short production run and there just isn’t a whole lot out there yet. New and used. All I can say if keep watching eBay.
hi.. i want to make 17"" rims on my scout bobber 2019 abs , for having more choice with tyres ... is there rims like yours for installing to my bike? Where do you take it? Thanks a lot
Yes. I’ve mounted a 180 on the stock 3.5” rim. Rode great. The 4.5” wide octane wheel is also taller. 17” vs the 16” stock wheel. So there are more tires available.
guitarist595 it didn’t at all. You can take the tire sizes and put them into a tire calculator online. Speed is off by a percentage. So lower speeds is negligible. And as you get faster the speed offset percentage grows exponentially. But at 65mph on the speedo I was seeing 63.73mph actual speed.
I know. Working on it. Quite a few big life changes. Wife and I bought a house. Going through a full Reno. We also welcomed our baby girl. As I write this I’m covered in drywall dust and paint. New stuff coming soon. I appreciate your patience and continued support. Stay safe my friend.
Dustinatoz it’s still around. I’ve moved since those videos with it on the garage. She unfortunately has to be out in the rain. It was either bike or Jeep in this garage. Bike won. But. Hoping to move again. Buy a place this time. So they can be reunited again in the garage. And then I can start on that project. Should be a good one
Soon. Wife and i bought our first home together and we are doing a full down to studs reno. We also welcomed out baby girl late January. Almost done the Reno’s. Then I can get back at it
Not on my bike. I bought replacement bearing just in case before I did the swap. The scout bearing were the exact same part number as the octane. The octane bearings were in really good shape so I just kept them and didn’t swap them out. Scout axle and everything was a direct swap. No funny business.
