The much debated 180 Rear tire on a stock wheel. I do not recommend nor do I suggest this is a safe mod. Mod at your own request.
I do not know any shops that will do it. If it’s something you want I would say reach out to some and ask unfortunately. It’s not something the Indian dealers will want to touch.

I just came home from the tyre dealer and started searching online for info on with for the bobber and BAM 3hours erlier mr bearded himself just solved my problem. Thx Bro will stay classy👌

The commanders are good tires in a additional aspect. They do very well with wet roads vs the Dunlop’s I was running. Much better grip

I actually put scout wheels on my old Octane. I can’t remember what tires I put on it now but I ran a 170 rear. I loved it. Wish I could have kept the bike too. Hopefully they will serve you well and enjoy. 👍👍

Hi George, Aussie with a bobber here. The Cruisetech is the tyre that I want to put on the rear of my Bobber as well. Did the 180 scrub/touch anywhere or "balloon" out of the rim? Also how if at all, was the handling affected? Thanks, Marc Miller

No issues whatsoever my only issue is that I don't have enough time to ride like I'd like to. Even moreso since I've installed a new pair of shocks.

ATTENTION!!!! This message is not to hate on bearded bobber videos. its just a service announcement. I do not recommend putting a 180 tire on stock rims of a bobber. I just did it to mine and it makes almost no difference in the width of the tire. The small stock rim pinches the tire down to a 150 tire size when on the rim. Save yourself the extra 100 dollars for the 180 and all the extra hassle and frustration of trying to get a 180 tire to get the bead to seat on stock rims. just get the 150 tire unless your willing to mod the whole rear end so you can use a proper rim for a 180. Its a waste of money and sanity to use a 180 tire on stock rims. It makes little to no difference in the width of the tire once you get it on the stock rim. just do the 150 on stock rims

Ya it’s all personal preference. I know Jay fast had no issues and I like the small difference personally but it can be a hassle since most shops don’t want to. I’m doing a 240 Later on

@@TheBeardedBobber I tried it because of you and jay fast vids. i just found that once you actually get the 180 tire on the rim it basically shrinks to a 150. No point in doing it from my experience. Save the money and time and energy and just use the 150. thank you for your content! 240 would look bad ass on this bike. Look forward to that vid!

Hi Bearded, love your channel! I'm in Australia and have a 2019 bobber. I'm about to change to the Metzler Cruisetech. I too want the wider tyre. Have you noticed any handling changes - cornering, lean etc? Also does the 180 clear the fender and other parts easily, no rubbing etc? Thanks Marc Miller

So the 180 on a stock rim is a little taller than like a 180 on the chief. Lean angle has felt great to me. I’ve had no issues. I also have the fox shocks so that gives me more clearance in the rear, but I know guys who have stock shocks and a 180 and it’s been perfectly fine. We don’t race our bikes on a track or anything.

So some people say it’ll pop off in turns but I haven’t had any issues at all and no one else I know has. The dealers wheel says they don’t recommend over a certain size width.

This is a question I’m asking myself right now. I love the feel of the challenger tires now and I’m not sure if I’m gonna like the switch but I think it’ll be fine. I’ve thrown the challenger in some hard turns and loved it. So always questionable to switch imo

@@TheBeardedBobber from the specifications, if I understood them well, the commander III is a more "sport" and "grippy" tire than the cruisetec. Like in the middle of the cruisetec and cobra.

It’s a 180/65 and ya when I did these tires I got new front and rear. These are both Michelin commander 3s

So the factor doesn’t recommend doing a 180 tire. That’s the reason I say do at your own risk. So far mines been good but people do worry the tire is too wide for the rim. A stock rim.

Unfortunately I can’t. I haven’t checked some of the bike shops like b&b cycles but I would just call around. Ya the dealer is one that has to listen to factory settings.

Nope tire is doing great. I have like 1500 miles on mine and a buddy did a trip on his 180 with 4500 miles.
