In this video I walk you through a super simple breathing exercise that you can teach to the children or young people in your care (or that you can use yourself). It's a summary of the 'finger breathing' or 'take five' breathing exercise you might have used elsewhere.
You could use this video in class and try it out in realtime, or you can learn the technique and then teach it to your kids. Let me know how you get on and leave a comment with suggestions for other techniques you'd like me to share in a future video.

i am a 22 year old who has suffered from anxiety, c-ptsd and chronic fatigue since i was a young child. meditation and the "grown-up" breath work teachings do NOT work for me at all. i always feel restless and like i'm about to have an extreme meltdown. literally just followed your steps in doing this breathing exercise and tears rolled down my face. the tactile sensation of tracing my fingers paired with the breathing was INSTANTLY calming, i was so shocked!! thank you so much for this.

What a wondrous way to take five! I have bee interested in mediation techniques for decades, yet this one is new to me. Definitely sharing with my mom-of-five daughter!

Very simple, very good and effective technique. I've tried it this morning, stuck up a ladder, when work wasn't working and it is calming when frustrated with yourself. Taking time to calm worked, work done. Thanks as ever Pooky for another useful technique for the arsenal.

Actually can you tell me how to stop thinking about my breathing sensation and how to stop conscious about my breathing and make myself unaware of my breath It's like how to stop doing manual breathing and make it back to automatic state I want that automatic rhythm back and i want to experience my old natural flow without controlling my breath or not getting awareing about my sensation of my breath
