Has anyone else noticed in FNaC 3, how the attack patterns of Rat and Cat mirror the ways they died. Th Rat had a face to face fight, whilst the cat was choked from behind. Just as they do in the Nightmares.
ngl fnac 3 is really interesting when you realise that there technically isn't anything supernatural in the game. It's just a little girl and her night terrors over a real world murder. It kind of makes the story stand out more than any other fan game- within its own series and even considering fnaf. I like to see it as a game seperate to even its own series as a tragic but also heartwarming story of a girl overcoming her trauma and moving on with her childhood.
This comment is making me think of an alternate version of the FNAC lore where the 3rd game is Mary overcoming her fears during childhood, and the 1st game could be about Mary having nightmares again as if she's only now remembering the horrible event and starts having nightmares about being attacked in her workplace by monsters that look like the animatronic mascots until she meets Vinnie again similar to her final nightmare in fnac 3 Like genuinely your comment is making me think of an alternative take on the FNAC series where it's just Mary having to deal with trauma during her childhood and experiencing it again during adulthood like she's just now remembering the bad memories and starts to feel guilt for them
honestly the minigame where candy gets arrested is funny on a lot of levels. the mustache making it look like the police officer is smiling, the fact that candy gets surrounded, the fact that the thought of candy getting arrested for attempted murder popped into my head. best part of fnac2 tbh
FNaC 3 may not be the scariest FNaF fan-game, but the feeling of confronting the animatronic, or might I say, the nightmare of our character face to face with nothing but a flashlight to fight back is amazing, I have never felt more tense than during FNaC 3's night 5, also because usually you want to avoid looking directly to what scares you but here, you have to face it and look straight at him, Emil really outdid himself with FNaC 3, bravo
I think I understand the reason game 2 was so bad. The maker had stated they did not want to make another one but the community kept asking, I'm guessing the maker just wanted to make something to get out and please people so they would hush up... And I don't think they would have felt too happy about the reaction it had gotten
Yeah... which honestly sucks in two fronts, because it could've been really cool. The first is the most obvious one, the gameplay. Just check out FNaC 2 But Better. It's a Custom Night of FNaC 2 but with changed mechanics. Cheeky name aside, it shows how the game could've been a lot more engaging. The second one is often more overlooked, but ever since I thought about it, I couldn't help but rage at the amount of lost potential: the story. I mean, sure, we got the story about how the New versions of Candy and Cindy were put out of commission, as well as the event that caused Old Candy to be shelved as well in favor of the more modern animatronics of the first game. And we are told that through a few minigames. But only a few. The other minigames are pretty much meaningless fluff, especially the ones where Blank goes to find drawings, or New Cindy goes to find Candy's tie. But, bear with me for a second. Emil was very excited to tell a story about Mary in FNaC 3, and she is honestly one of the most developed original _human_ characters in FNaF fangames I've seen. Like, most games tend to focus just on the animatronics and how they went wrong. But this game was one of the first to properly focus on the character that suffered the trauma at their hands. It's one of the first FNaF fangame series to keep giving us a good reason for why Mary went to work on its respective haunted establishment (one could even assume that she was the reason the restaurant needed New versions of Candy and Cindy - Mary rendered them useless after freeing the spirits from them with her tampering). So, she's a very interesting character, who has plenty history with Candy's and Rowboatics Corp. So what's the factory that we spend five nights at in the second game? Rowboatics Corp.'s factory, of course. And who's the playable character? Marilyn Schmidt. Implied to be Mary's daughter. Do you see how much potential for a cool story this has? A rebellious and reckless teenager, who lies to her mom in order to spend multiple nights at a factory over a bet, and it's a factory that Mary already has plenty of history with, not just with the place itself, but with the animatronics that were made in it too. Imagine how this could allow us to explore the bond between Mary and her daughter, as Marilyn uncovers her mom's story with Candy's, and how Mary may be forced to face her past one last time, maybe even for the sake of her daughter's safety! We could have had a really epic story here! But nah, let's go collect a robo-monkey's limbs as Pingu instead.
@@Mike14264 I never really thought of that take on the Candy’s 2 lore, it certainly would be cooler than what we got! But I still thoroughly enjoy the game for its gameplay, kinda wish there was more to the environment though
@@whymewm-identityv4584 yeah, that's fair. The environment does look hella drab too. Like, I feel like FNaF games and fangames have their color scheme of sorts, with the offices being the primary source of color. If you can only describe the color pallette of the entire location of your game as "multiple shades of gray", you're probably not doing something right. I know it's a factory (worse, it's the administration offices and schematics part of the factory, so it's even more boring), it's not exactly meant to be the most colorful place in the world, but couldn't it look a bit less monotone? And even the details in the rooms themselves, it's got nothing interesting besides papers, some drawings, uh... file cabinets and... tables? I mean, couldn't there at least be some sections on the actual production area of the factory, with the conveyor belts, the large assembly machines and whatnot?
@@Mike14264 I thought that too! It’s a factory so there’s really not supposed to be much color, but a user did make a good point of mentioning there could be graffiti, vegetation, cracks in the walls or floors, flickering dim lights, anything that’d signify the decay and abandonment of the factory. I did also think of showing sections of old assembly machines and whatnot like you did, there’s a lot more that could’ve been added to the game, especially with the environment and plot, and gameplay mechanics too, that’s why I really love the FNAC games but better series, it does the second game justice with the better mechanics.
@@whymewm-identityv4584 yo, that's brilliant! The factory did close somewhen after 1993, and I think the game happens in 2007, so there's plenty room for some vandalism and stray vegetation! And I agree, the FNaC But Better series really adds a lot to the gameplay... even if the remake of the second game removed RAT's jumpscare, I don't think I can forgive them for that. He's supposed to be the most aggro dude of the bunch! Oh, a little fun fact btw. Turns out Mike is Mary's husband, not her brother? Not sure if this was ever confirmed anywhere, but it is a little more creative. Ah, now for this one thing I wanted to bring up. I dunno if we know Mary Schmidt's age for sure, but knowing her younger brother was already old enough to be at camp, assuming he was at least 5, and that she's at least a year older... let's assume Mary's 6 years old at the time of the incident, in 1961. Then she'd be 7 when the Theater reopens, maybe around 8 by the time of FNaC 3 in 1963, 9 during the video recordings of the factory in '64... Which means she'd be 32 years old by 1987. And 52 by 2007, while her daughter Marilyn, a 17 year old, was born in 1990 (when Mary was 45), three years after her job at Candy's, and (supposedly) 3 years before Mike's shift at Freddy's. Darn.
In my opinion, I don't think FNaF fan games are made with the intentions of competing with the official games, or any fan game for any series for that matter. I think they're supposed to be games you could play and enjoy alongside the official games.
I feel like the reason the nightmares look so well is because they are figments of Mary’s imagination and trauma in physical form, which means that they aren’t limited by logic and can look as monstrous and living as possible making them feel like real monsters.
Given how quickly the police apprehended and executed Vinnie, its likely they were already building a case against him, with Mary's testimony giving them the edge they needed.
I would like to mention that the suit that runs out of the employee area in the night 5 minigame (at around 50:13) is actually someone in The Cat's Costume, not another rat costume. However other than that little nitpick everything else in here is top notch!
44:12 ive been listening to this in the bg while working in ms paint, my computer froze but the video kept playing, paint crashed and threw me back to the browser half a second before the jumpscare, i knew nothing about fnac going into this video and had no idea that was coming, its the middle of the night and im sitting next to a window thats pitch black outside, im wearing noise canceling headphones, i have my browser zoomed in so that the video window takes up nearly half my screen so the face was basically all i could see, my heart is pounding.
The one thing that I think is quite interesting about the second game is that the UI for the camera system legitimately looks like something that would exist in real life. Those ugly, low resolution, beveled grey buttons are really authentic. I think that the way cameras and computer interfaces are handled in these games is one of the biggest obstacles in terms of evoking the intended time period. I get that there's autonomous robots walking around but it's even weirder to me for the player to be issued a full colour touchscreen device that's small enough to hold in your hands and isn't a CRT display.
Honestly i kinda liked FNAC ending in fnac3 for lore, gameplay and because Security Bug shows what happens when a series has much more quantity than quality, but not gonna lie a fnac4 made with the time the dev needs for it is going to be lit 🔥 Also great video, hope YT does its work to send it to more people 🙏🙏
thank you! and yeah thats why im so excited for fnac4 since it seems like that game has a lot more effort and care put into it due to how long the developer wants to work on it, i cant wait!
I think a simple fix to FNAC2 would have been to have the on-screen text be...text messages or a phone call from your friend who thinks it sucks you got stuck there and that you're being stupid for doing this just to prove yourself. Reminding you the building still has residual power so to keep an eye on things with the cameras and such. Maybe have some of the rooms collapse while you're there (implied to be Marilyn trying to stop the animatronics in a collapsed room but failing) which means less cams to watch but also means less rooms for the animatronics to be in.
You have 6K subs and are constantly getting 20-500K views. Really shows how quality and fun to watch your content is :). I really like how you also criticize the good games instead of just the bad ones.
I hope the forth will release, I remember loving the first one even if he is really too easy and have weird visual distortion in desk. The second was ok but also easy except the last challenges and the game and environnement very... empty due to factory style. The third is hard to take in hand and understand at first but very nice when we do this effort, a lot to deal with, many endings, post game content. 1 remaster : better balance, better visuals even if to me at least he was already ok, more secrets and cool boss so amazing to unlock by ourself.
I kinda agree with the puppeteer. Murder is wrong yeah but like if a drunk man swung on you and you accidentally killed him would you try to keep the accident a secret. I would
tbf you wouldn't go to jail likely, as it was an accident out of self defense..so by hiding it you're actively setting yourself up for jailtime when the truth comes out (as by not being honest and tampering with the crime scene, along with killing another to keep it hush, is very illegal lol)
@@testerwulf3357 but what i'm wondering is that if there are no cameras on that *room* then puppeter didnt have any proof that he *didn't kill the guy* , so he he went to jail anyway unless the girl confesses.
Keep up the high quality work. It’s nice seeing someone making these long form documentaries on fnaf fan games, since most videos about the series are targeted at kids.
loved the story in FNaC 3, but the most unrealistic part of it is, unfortunately, people legitimately caring about children’s mental health in the 1960s…
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure rat and cat aren't springlock suits, they started as costumes until the puppeteer killed the performers, they would later be retrofitting to animatronics
17:10 Not sure if you know this but Penguin actually also has glowing eyes and it is actually way lower comparing to other eye glowing animatronics, it's so cute
55:20 I’m pretty sure she didn’t *know* that candy’s had any correlation with Rat and Cat Theater, I mean Candy’s is a completely different brand from R&CT, and The Rat up until the point where he shows up wasn’t even known about. Theres also the possibility that she maybe somehow felt connected to Candy’s because of what happened, which may have made her feel more inclined to keep showing up, even after The Rat makes his presence known. *ALSO* At 1:03:43 you might notice that some of the letters on the update are highlighted. When you put them together it spells out “dont forget” Not sure what relevance this has to anything but it’s there I guess.
Not gonna lie, the broken down or old animatronics are much scarier and creepy than the nightmares or withered animatronics in the FNAF universe. Literally the first time I feel scared.
Fnac 1 : A hard working employee trying to make money cuz even a cashier job was horrible. Fnac 2 : A cool girl with her cool friends do a bet in a factory where there are killer robots. Fnac 3 : The past Fnac 4 : Sonic cd metal madness bad futrue.
Why would Mary go back to Candy's? We can't understand. The mind, especially under unhealthy conditions, can justify and rationalize some obviously irrational things. We can pathologize for days, but we have no concrete answers. Perhaps it was a defiant surge, a burst of the will to battle the mascots who haunt her.
I think the only lore part this series Could contradict is "Schmidt" surname, but one could argue same surname and name doesn't mean someone is related, and Mike could just "Borrow" their name for the 7 nights of FNAF 1.
Five Night's At Floppa's has improved upon the fan genera of fnaf games to a point where people often think it was directly made by Scotts younger Russian brother 3 times removed,. It has changed the game and paved the way for future games like One Night At Flumpty's. It is the sexual revolution that the 70's could only have wet dreams about, In short, it is the masterpiece that games only dream about.
Thinking about it now, I see your point with FNAC 2. The camera system was a little dull, the phone thing was an odd choice of gameplay mechanics, and the textures of the building were dull. Granted, we’re supposed to be in a factory, but I doubt a factory doesn’t have floors, walls, and columns that are the same color. The one thing I loved about FNAC 2 was the mini games. They were creepy, and the music was eerie as well. FNAC 3 was a real step up to textures and lore, and I loved the FNAC 1 remake. While we are supposed to get a fourth FNAC game, and a Candys style FNAF world in pixels, who knows when it’ll come out. I’m excited to see it, and I don’t care if it costs money. Overall, FNAC was a unique and really cool franchise, and I’m excited to see where it’ll go next. 😱😀👍
Fun Fact: You can beat a night with the penguin in your office, I beat nights 3 and 4 with him in my office at 12 am, all I did was keep the ticket booth always closed, listen for if anyone is at the door then open them if the penguin closes them with no one there. He's kind of a helper.
its still so surprising you dont have more of a following, these videos are so nice to have on in the background and to just listen to them normally, too.
Don’t think anyone realized, but in the actual April 1st update for FNaC 4, there are bolded letters (d, o, n, t, f, o, r, g, e, t) spell out “Don’t Forget”. 1:03:47
Its honestly crazy that you managed to get these videos out on a weekly basis, the amount of effort you put in these is amazing and you should be proud of the content your making
"People have an extremely high level of expectations for this game." "Must be exhausting to think about the amount of people always wanting more." And that's where he should just STOP! This chap needs to learn the lesson that you're not going to please everyone, so trying to do so will just result in deeper failure! Design the game how you want it to be and leave it at that.
45:22 I think what makes the rat so unsettling is a combination of its spikey wire-filled inhuman design and unrealistic proportions combined with the leather and the stitching appearing somewhat organic. I think it balances somewhere on the line between what made the original fnaf animatronics creepy and what makes dolls creepy
Might I suggest a video on Five Nights At Wario's? That seems like an absolute perfect fit for one of your videos. Im glad I stumbled upon the channel 😁
I really love this channel and I have seen almost every episode has published and the fact of their laughter and editing skills with their amazing content makes listening\watching fantastic
Ok, your voice is so relaxing I've had to rewatch this video about five times cause I keep falling asleep! I keep on rewatching cause I really want to know what you're saying! It's that good!
"Ssshhhhhh you sit there, and be pretty While I do the mindless talking about a kids game for over a hour" Idk why but that got me balling my eyes out with laughter😂😂😂😂
I still remember a glitch I encountered in Fnac2 I was stuck and unable to move and I could hear Chester (I think?) Rolling through the vents and I just never died all the way to 6am and I think it happened twice? I don't remember, it was years ago
vinnie/the depressed puppet is my favourite character for no reason also the way hes just chilling on the table while the cat and rat both died- ik hes not really alive so he cant move but its js amazing :)
1:03:42 you can see some letters highlighted. here they are in order of appearance: D,O,N,T,F,O,R,G,E,T which wright: don't forget, I have some theories about what this means: (1) hinting at Mary Schmidt not forgetting about the trauma(probable) (2) a message for us to not forget the game(I don't think so) and (3) That the animatronics(spirits probably) not forgetting the trauma and things that happened to them and they will try to get their revenge in the next game. I would like to see what you think so wright a reply and like the comment so insomniac can see it. (Edit: am not good at making theories so I know you will come up with something better) (another edit: only 4/147 people noticed from what i saw)
I never liked FNAC2..glad to see someone agree. Good idea but overall bad execution, nothing from it was good imo (the cameras weren't anything special and made 0 sense..though nor did the phones and little office! the models were ok but with bad atmosphere they just aren't scary, bad atmosphere..ironically the only thing scary for me is the dark hallway which you don't have to look at just phone call spam through the night thus it also gets negative points for being boring! The story in it wasn't even good either) I don't personally get all the hype over FNAC1..it's ok but it's not really the most unique fan game I've seen? I get why it was hype back then but not now, it's not even close to being on my list of favorites; it's not bad not great just ok. I do really like FNAC3 though! It's quite unique between the gameplay of the tape, only being able to defend with a flashlight, and peeking under the bed amongst 3 entryways and the minigames and dream exploration sequence. The story I also find enjoyable
The reason fnac 1 was so popular is because it was a really high quality fan game of fnaf during that time, and the characters were really unique as well
If you activate auto-generated captions on time stamp 25:47, you will notice the captions think the narrator said 'Sydney', which is located in Australia. I am not sure if the narrator had said 'Sydney' on purpose, or on accident. I understand the narrator was trying to say 'Cindy' but either they had failed to say that word, or they had said it on accident. All though it is pretty funny, it is still good content!
I am relatively new to your channel. I must say, I love your voice! You’re just so calm and welcoming. Maybe it’s my traumas acting up, but I gravitate towards calm warm people, somewhat like cats do. Your content is also of high quality. Feels like a safe space.
15:07 Yeah the penguin is FNACs version of BB, messing with the doors Instead of the Flashlight in FNAF 2, but it's like JJ in UCN 42:35 Witch's House and Mad Father are amazing, I never heard of the other game, but I bet it's soooooo cool, I might check it out, what was it? _"Misou"_ ???
