The INSANE Rise Of POPGOES 

I've had a summer cold for about a week now, I pushed back making this video to wait until my throat got better but its been nearly two weeks since my last upload. If you notice my voice sounding as if I was whispering in the last half of the video its because I really was due to my throat not being able to handle talking normally. Sorry for that, hope you all enjoy the video!

When I think of my favorite fnaf fangame series, I think of Dayshift at Freddy's. But Popgoes is one of the most interesting titles that comes to mind

Fun fact: Popgoes in Popgoes 2016 is NOT entirely random. When he's in the big room in the middle, you can tell where he's gonna go depending on his position in the room!

It's not that weird a dark parking lot would calm you down. Horror often comes from the unknown, a parking lot is a very known equation.

I really love how in Popgoes we play as a Robot instead of a human security guard. I really hope Strings gets merch as he’s my favorite night guard character ever.

So you are confused about Pogpoes 2016 lore and other details about it so I will try explain it: 1) pogoes takes place in a timeline where only fnaf 1-3 are cannon. 2) the the minigames have hidden photos which reveal lore that help explain the cutscene and secret ending with the simplified version of it being there are two brothers one is the purple guy and one is this games phone guy (also the person who made and runs this pizzeria and appears on the grave in the secret ending) the phone guy gets attacked by bonnie in the bite of 87 and needs a life saving blood transfusion, they cant get it so purple guy kills kids, get there blood and saves his brother, the fnaf 3 minigames happen and the phone guy tries to move on. he has a daughter named bonnie and tries makes a pizzeria. after bonnie (the phone guys daughter) scares the phone guy with a toy bonnie mask the phone guy kills his daughter and she becomes the blackrabbit from the acrade games and the game. the phone guy makes a recreation of his brother named Simon (the purple skeleton) and eventually dies to it in the secret ending TL;DR: purple guy and this games phone guy are brothers, the phone guy was the victim of the bite of 87 and purpleguy murdered to get blood for his transfusion. purple guy had fnnaf 3 happen to him and phone guy made the popgoes pizzeria that his dead daughter now haunts and he gets murdered by a robot version of his brother (the secret ending skeleton) 3) they way to find the secret ending is to die to each animatonic and in every death there will be a second count and night (except blackrabbit who you just need to die to on night 6) then you follow the steps you gave us to see the secret ending. I'm pretty sure this is all if i missed something just comment and I'll try to explain it, another thing to note is that Arcade 2020, the Machinist, my popgoes and evergreen will have slight changes to the original story and also happen in the same universe as five nights at candy's (this is confined by Emil and Kane) but the stories don't depend on understanding each other to understand the full narrative.

the popgoes digging animation is made better to me by the fact that weasels irl are excellent diggers, so when his head pops up out of the hole it looks like a little weasel doing it

The papurus thing is simon. Basically, he's purple guy before we got william afton named dropped. P.Guy and the fnaf 2 guard Jermey were brothers. Jermey was bit in 87, p.guy brought him back by using blood from dead kids, and guard had lost his memories. P.guy gets springlocked, and Jermey, after a name change to Fritz Glade, finds springtrap's head, and realizes thats his bro. He doesnt remember him, only what he did, so he tries to save him bu rebuilding him. Due to memory loss, he used the tales of a purple man, and made simon, a tall purple papyrus oc. Theres more I skimmed, just look in popgoes arcive.

The way you're intended to find Popgoes' grave ending ending requirements is to die/get panic jumpscared by the animatronic in the minigame after the night. for example Stone on Night 1 (his scare triggers if you look at the window.) with the time in seconds and the camera you need to look at that specific time in that night in seconds in the gameover screen somewhere on the left (Blackrabbit is the easist to find the requirements since it's on a giant sticky note in her game over screen). It's admitted really obscure honestly and nothing hints at you needing to do that far as I know Also you never mentioned the easter egg in the well of 2016 and 2020 if you interact enough times with it or the drawings if you press space on certain items in the minigames enough times

This was always one of my fave and (imo) underappreciated games- i thought the mechanics and story were way more unique and developed than usual. Thank you for covering it for the nostalgia :)

SPOILERS for POPGOES and the Machinist as I gush over my favorite part of it. I love how there are details that allude to a character from the Dead Forest returning, although they are little secrets by themselves. Doing enough snooping around after defeating the first three bosses may lead up to the moment you go back underground. Things go South (Forest) when you realize who the secret enemy is BEHIND its physical appearance. The only robot NOT powered by electricity, the way it talks, the orange weapon it uses (which you get after defeating it), it all adds up. Two words: "second chance."

That one photo of the parking lot brought so much attention to Popgoes in such a short span I swear the fandom doubled overnight

I think opposed to calming down because of the parking lot, you get calmed down knowing nothing is behind you.

17:41 I assume others have probably pointed this out, but you can actually see where popgoes will go to next. After being denied access to a printer, he will always appear in the center room (Cam 04) and where he is in that room will determine where he goes. He has many different positions in the room and it boils down to whatever door he is closest to will be the room he enters next. Where the cam numbers are on the phone is where the camera itself is, so it’s easy to orient yourself and find out where he is going to go next, which makes this game much easier

I won't lie, I had to rewind the beginning of this video cause I accidentally was paying more attention to the Mario Galaxy music than you talking.😅

As much as I hate Kane Carter for his many controversies and tendency to cancel many awesome games/shows (The Human Expo), I do admire the Popgoes series for its unique spin on the Fnaf formula and the way its lore is expressed throughout each game that smoothly transitions to the main lore of the franchise it's based on. I also love the characters, tone, and its influence as a whole within with Fnaf community during its early years. So yeah, I'm pretty mixed on this game and others associated with the franchise.

Man... i remember learning about this on a fnaf fansite... then i learned about the incident that happened regarding the lore and the attempted death of the author declaration because the maker was rather aggressively forcing the lore in a rather a... let's just call it "confusing" direction. Then he put the series under a guillotine after many cancelations so a new story could start coherently Then the fan initiative picked up and he pretended it didn’t turn into a nightmare by turning his teaser game's release date into a meme... then he further acted childish, only to end up being the good guy in the situation, yikes... Yeah this weasle has quite a history, and it is filled with arguments that never should of happened But hey, could of been worse.

If anything, I don´t think the Purple Guy is actually said to be purple. But if a person becomes incredibly pale, even sickly so like for example a cancer-patient in the midst of heavy chemotherapy, veins may become visible through the skin´s surface. These veins will look bluish-purple when seen through skin, on any human. It´d be more likely to interpret him being depicted as purple, if not for clothing, that his skin was very pale and thin, showing alot of those veins.

I don't think he actually turned purple, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be symbolic on how he turns into a monster

actually you can tell where popgoes will go. there are 2 things first he will stand in cam 4 in a specific way showing he will go into a specific room and secondly he goes to cam 8 last he will never go to cam 8 before printing the second to last part because that one is the only one that can print the head ending your game. technically the only animatronic that can truly "kill" you is black rabbit as the others are just the main character's cpu going haywire and overheating to the point it shuts down. and to figure out what colour to click and at what time and where you simply... well die on the specific night and you look at the messages on the death screen and the colour of the eyes. i know all this because i used to play ALOT of popgoes 2016 when it came out :3 also the dying part was said by alot of commenters whoops. hope this does help someone who is planning to play this game. i love the concept of strings! like seriously the idea where you realise "im not a living person but an ai" it amazes me

When it comes to horror games, I disagree with the notion of giving the player so many options and providing a familiar form of technology as a way to enhance the experience. It's when we're thrust into unfamiliar territory that cranks up the fear factor, and makes the experience more authentic and carnal. I feel like modern horror games lack that.

looking at the purpleguy cutscene, this one doesn't think it was meant to mean he literally turned purple so much as he slowly turned from a seemingly normal child into the increasingly maladapted and evil person that would eventually go on to commit several murders and other horrendous actions. It's meant to be more metaphorical in that respect.
