Matthew Lillard's character is literally me. He is stuck working a boring desk job helping other people find jobs, and is able to truly be himself when he murders people, not unlike Patrick Bateman (also literally me). He also shows signs of being a sigma male, because even though he lives a life of his own, the animatronics are still loyal to him when he demands it. When the animatronics turn on him at the end, this is a metaphor for how society is trying to turn on and destroy the sigma grindset.

This movie at least gets the fanservice right. They dont just reference things in the game, there are references to made-up photoshopped urban legend characters who arent actually in the games, and they threw in the final boss of the failed spinoff that was so bad it had to get pulled from steam

The movie was really good for long-time fans of the series but I agree with Erich that the movie leaves a bit to be desired for people who don't know the story of the games. For example, the scene in the movie where William gets killed by the Yellow Suit IS similar to how it happened in the games at heart, but its also completely different. And the scene played out a lot better in the game its from than in the movie. Its just fun for fans to see stuff like that brought to life in a movie, like a celebration of the series. However, I will say that even though I enjoyed the movie I hated that it was PG-13 because you could do so much more with the franchise if they just allowed the gore. Williams death should've been a lot more brutal and I dislike how he took the rabbit mask off for most of the encounter.

Okay as a 19 year old zoomer who was autistically into this franchise as a kid and early teen, talking posters on the fucking wall action figures read the goddamn books fucking everything, this movie was actual hot steamy ass. I loved all those games when they came out, and even now I genuinely think the first 3 games are actually pretty cool for what they were, but this movie captured literally nothing good about the games. I could yap on for genuinely several hours about every stupid fucking terrible decision they made making it but nobody that likes this dogshit franchise even cares about because they showed matpat on the screen or some other shit thats vaguely something similar to something from a game. Massive waste of the IP, which again is practically shit after game 3 but how shit and wacky it is is the whole appeal of those later games and books too

I watched the movie with friends on Halloween night, i would agree with most of what you guys said but i enjoyed it and yes i am a FNAF fan despite a few plot holes it was good. 6/10 would see again.

Why did they make mike phyco in the beginning. If yhe plot of the games is the family ties with the dad, it would of made more sense to say that was actually his father and that his psychotic behavior is genetic

As a fnaf fan I give it a 4/10 I did not like it. The film was too long.Why did Mike's brother get kidnapped in the forest instead of Freddy's. It could have been a chance to show an open Freddy's and Golden Bonnie could be in the background. The Freddy bite was goofy. William doesn't have a enough screen time. Vanessa does an exposition dump before the climax. Mike barely does anything beside having nightmares. It would have been interesting if Mike was investigating Freddy's and the missing kids himself instead of Vanessa telling him everything. The spring locks failure was underwhelming. I knew that only a R rated film could do the spring lock failure or Freddy bite justice but I hoped they could have done a a new iconic moment. I had low expectations, but I didn't think I would be bored. I loved Sonic 2 and the Mario Movie, so I didn't need deep complex writing, but I hoped for a little bit more substance. I like the Matpat scene and easter eggs tho.

I am not a fan of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. But I thought the movie was alright for what it is. It wasn't the greatest movie, the movie was actually pretty generic. But I do not think it was that bad of a film. Of course there was probably a lot of bits that went over my head though since I am not a fan of the franchise however.
