Her reported numbers were just that good. If she were to stick to national sales, she obviously doesnt need the help from anyone. Going international into the US market is a totally different beast. She could probably go at it alone, but enlisting in a shark is akin to hiring an expert advisor.

@@paulchoi5206 well depends on the deal, if that Shark bites one of your arms and legs off before it give you a ride it's not worth it. The thing is Business advice and expertise can be bought you dont need to give them a good chunk of your company to do it. But in this case I'm super surprised, most of the time the Sharks live up to they're name no matter how valuable the company is and try to fleece them for all its worth. This is rare time when they didn't try to outright RIP the person off. The last one I saw I think it was naomi she wanted to RIP this profitable guitar venture, he asked for a $200k investment for a %10 stake and she wanted to instead give him a $200k loan with interest that had to be paid back in 24 months for a %10 stake.

@@noticedruid4985 The mistake was on the first offer. He was so enticed by the company's numbers that he forgot he's a businessman and didn't negotiate at all in the hope that she would accept his offer right away. The other sharks had no choice but to up his offer from there.

i don't think I agree. though her valuation is low, having a shark and their connections on your side, as well as the publicity from the tv show adds much more value than their money does. with the current sales, i doubt the company even needed the cash injection. They primarily needed the expertise and connections the sharks offer, and paid that with a 20% equity. the money will still be demanded however, as it locks in the sharks to actually work for it.

It's usually a couple of hours if I remember correctly--some of the shit ones take less time though.

This happens with startups, because even though the money has changed hands, they need to negotiate for cheaper prices to make margins, then let’s say the supplier gives a bad order with issues on the items and needs to rectify it, they refuse and a protracted legal battle ensues. All the while the customer is waiting for their item. Typical small company problems; the bigger ones write it off for huge tax breaks and they have assets to lend against.

You have to write notes back every dang night it's cute at first until you are having to write teeny tiny notes and find paper late at night with glitter and all kinds of shit. I love my daughter but it got old QUICK!!!! That thing had to go!!!
