Ten years after reading five stories by Ambrose Bierce, Robert Lang returned to BBC Radio to read five tales by L.P. Hartley. Strange and insinuating, my particular favourite is 'Someone in the Lift', since discovering that this story was adapted as a short film for BBC Television and broadcast on Christmas Eve. That adaptation seems to now be lost, so I'm all the more glad to have a decent reading of it...
