Some recent theories I’ve seen of all father and velka are that: Due to the way of white having connections to nito, it could be theorized that he’s going by the all father and uncle of gwyn. Being the first of the dead. And velka, similar to the relationship between miquella and saint trina, is the feminine alter ego of gwyndolyn.
@SilverMont

@ManFromThePits

What's that about Velka? Gwyndolin IS his feminine alter-ego!
@ONobreBabuino
@ONobreBabuino Месяц назад
the way of white wasnt founded by nito, and isnt related to gwyn. the jpn term for allfather is chief god, meaning, king of the gods, and lloyd resides in thorolund, a country in the world of man (the name for the wider world of dark souls, not some random part of lordran) the reason the WoW sends its undead to nito is due to the rite of kindling he possesses, leeroy being the one who went first and kickstarted all other missions. and lloyd was dethroned from his cargo as chief god by gwyndolin as ds3 reveals, for the JPN description of sulyvahns soul refers to gwyndolin as the chief god. how would lloyd be dethroned by his nephew if he died in ds1? it doesnt make sense. lloyd is lloyd, nito is nito. i really dont recommend u use firelink conspiracy as a source for lore, bc he misses a lot of obvious points established from the games, like gwyn, nito and izalith bearing the light, death and life souls and simply saying, as his talk with me, that its simply headcanon from the community, even though Kaathe says that the pygmy found a fourth soul of kings/lords which aligns with the dark aspect of disparity. Since Gwyn is the King of the Sun's Light in JPN, he wields the light soul. Izalith giving life to her flame of chaos required her Life soul, and Nito's power of death requires his Death soul. I recommend u look at the analyses and book called abyssal archive from a bro called loykey lore, he truly delves deep into the lore from the original japanese script, compares it with the official localization, and presents actual cohesive evidence for this, unlike firelink conspiracy

All of the questions around Priscilla and Yorshka are hilarious tho lmao I think one thing I've always wanted to see a follow up on is the Undead that achieves the new ending with Aldia in SOTFS. To answer the dark souls 2 ending. Yes, we did manage to make a crown that halted the undead curse. Throughout the game we were trying to either fulfill the chosen Undead legend again (link the fire), finally become the Dark Lord to bring an age of darkness (not link it) or to finally break the Undead Curse (make the crown). We end up making The crown and breaking the curse, just, thing is, it only breaks the curse for one person. Here's some extra lore, Gwen placed the curse on mankind.
@alter6243
@alter6243 Месяц назад
@@paultheviewerMay I ask where “it only breaks the curse for one person” comes from? I don’t remember having a direct answer like that but maybe I am misremembering. I always just assumed those endings weren’t the cannon ending which is why we got DS3. Or that it was a result of the “time isn’t linear” theory being true. My best guess is that there still weren’t plans to create a DS3 yet, so the writers likely weren’t thinking about its future implications for the story. It’s also important to note the hectic development of DS2, the fact its main director changed and that Miyazaki had very little if any input into the game. Those factors are what make me believe it was just an unintentional plot hole.
@paultheviewer
@paultheviewer Месяц назад
@@alter6243 The PC had to forge the crown by getting the other crowns(dlc). By the end of the game, you have to be wearing the crown to escape the fate of the curse, but it literally only works for whoever is wearing the crown. Vattividya has a clearer explanation. As for DS3, it doesn't matter what ending happens at DS2, if you choose to kindle the fire, it still goes out eventually. If you let it simmer away, eventually someone will answer the call and light it. DS3 happens because nobody is kindling the flame anymore. The flame even resurrects former champions that have kindled it in the past to do it again, like Yhorm, Aldia, The Lothtic princes, and even The Legion, called Lords of Cinder, but none want to do it again. The PC in DS3 isn't a cursed undead, your an Unkindled, someone who tried to link the flame but failed an became ash. That's why the tagline in the opening credits is "Ash(you) seekith embers(Lords of Cinder).
@paultheviewer
@paultheviewer Месяц назад
@@alter6243 I forgot to add, after you get all dlc crowns, I believe you can exhaust Vendricks dialogue and he gives you Kings Crown reinforced. When you dye(YTcensor) while wearing it you don't go hollow. Only happens when wearing the crown, thus that's more or less where the idea comes from.

Regarding Lloyd, the Japanese translator ChannelYoshimitsu did a video about who he is. He isn't a derivative fraud, Lloyd is a collateral relative and his title of principle god is self proclaimed. In other words, he isn't a direct relative of Gwyn but is connected through marriage of his older brother's daughter to Gwyn. Lloyd's older brother is Nito which means Gwyn had a snu snu wife and it's also why Gwynevere is giant. There's environmental evidence of this in DS2 Undead Crypt's entrance. You will see a bass relief of a giant nun with a skeleton face. EDIT: This is infuriating, I have replied to people who have asked me questions and my comments are not showing up. If anyone else wants to ask me a question don't think that I'm ignoring you, RU-vid's auto censor is preventing me from doing this for some reason.

@TheProfanedSamurai
@TheProfanedSamurai Месяц назад
All dlc is canon. I feel like the true ending of ds3 is the hidden one that you don’t get a trophy for. The one where the unkindled, takes the flame for his or herself, and not becoming a lord. And to add more theory to it, that’s when our character, chased after Gael to the ringed city, and beat geal and all, got the blood of the dark soul, and who knows, what if after the painting was completed, our character, gave the painter the flame, to spring about new life, to that new paintings world, just like how it began in ds1 “then there was fire”.
@00Boogie
@00Boogie Месяц назад
I really have no clue about Lloyd's true nature, these are just gut reactions. Perhaps he was blood related, but could have been a mentor to Gwyn that was so close he was regarded as an uncle. The fact he had provided these means of hunting the undead suggests he had some kind of special power so I doubt he completely faked his divinity. Perhaps he did weasle his way into his position due to the power vacuum. And it's possible he was ousted in a power struggle afterwards and he was stripped of his status to rationalize his expulsion.

nice video. as someone who finds themselves in near the exact same situation as yourself, I'd like to take it upon myself to use your comment section to interact with your video by trying to answer* some of your question(this was originally plural but...uhhh)((also if its not obvious, expect a good amount of words, comment readers)) (Hopefully this is a long enough intro to make the comment hide some of itself, no spoilers!) *In the weird, convoluted way Miyazaki(and his team!) have us "answer" questions, and now I've got even more questions, dang 1: The Archtrees, Ash Lake, Giants, and yes Miyazaki does loves giant trees! The Archtrees are massive, primordial trees, entirely petrified. They serve as both the roots and sky for the Ancient age, as well as a solid flooring upon which to build the next. When everything crumbles away to nothing, it is here that it will crumble to. They represent the world in its primordial state, being exactly what they appear to be: ancient trees, so old they've been turned to stone. As such, they exist in a very strange state that is customary of the ancient world, being that they exist in a way that is neither living, nor dead. I like the point you touch on at 1:40, a question that's burned(ha) in my mind is this: where DID fire comes from? Somethings that's interesting to fire as opposed to other, more natural aspects of the world is how it has a very clear "life" cycle. "As flame rises, so does it fade. Such is the way of things." Sparks burning along ancient, petrified wood...Well, that's certain to cause quite the blaze, eh? Another interesting thing about these Archtrees is that while they CAN be consumed by fire(for there are very few things it is not capable of devouring), they seem to have a natural sort of "resistance" to disparity- Despite what we could infer should be naturally happening to these trees is entirely absent in our brief chance to explore one. Archtrees do not rot. This trait is further explored upon in the Giant Trees we find in Dark Souls 2- these Giant Trees resist the flow of time so well, with the right understanding you can enter so deeply into their memory as to physically travel back in time... This seems like a good time to talk more about the relationship Giants have with trees, and through them the ancient/natural world in general. Giants are (in my view) the manifestation of the relationship between man and nature. As we find them, they exist in a state warped by fire, and indeed they are keen pyromancers so this isn't inherently wrong for them. But they clearly have other natural affinities as well. Commonly being found doing things such as: throwing big rocks and wielding clubs of stone, wood, and in extreme cases, their own flesh. It also seems like it's not terribly uncommon for them to be fantastic blacksmiths- it's not such a reach to say they have a natural affinity for shaping metal. Clearly, they are a folk with a natural affinity for the very stones and metals of the ground itself. Not only this, but when Vendrick crossed the sea and stole something precious from them- they crossed that sea right back- En masse. What is a sea? A simple question of course, but the answer is something that is generally speaking, missing in large quantities in this world unnaturally shackled to the flame: Water. Gwyn had many fears, the first and most illuminated of which is darkness. However, another easy fear one so deeply enchanted by flame such as Himself WOULD be water, and naturally...this fear is more private, tucked away deep(ha) inside of him. Much as Gwyn tried to contain and control the Dark Soul of Man, he exerted this same sentiment upon water. However, water is a far more primordial thing. It had no Lord Soul, for it naturally lacks disparity. It easily exists in many states, and unlike fire it is difficult for living beings to as easily draw a connection with it. Where DO we see water, or more specifically, natural large gatherings of it? In Lordran....not a lot. Ash Lake of course, where water would naturally converge in large quantities(it is the bottom of the world after all, and every Soulsborne player should be painstakingly aware of the presence of gravity in this world). Beyond this, it tended to settle "in between" kingdoms. Water does follow the path of least resistance after all, and this is a perfectly convenient spot for it to settle itself, far enough from the brightest of light as to not rouse fear, in between the kingdoms of man so as to not disturb the darks' evergrowing embrace. I'd also like to touch upon the use of water as a tool here. More specifically a tool for the mass slaughter of New Londo when the dark within those therein churned too much for the liking of the ruling order. Fascinating that they would not choose to just burn it away with fire- almost as if they had seen how despite flame devouring dark, so too does dark devour flame. Other than these, water in Lordran is largely limited to calm puddles and gently flowing waterfalls. In Drangleic, water feels like a much more common and intertwined occurrence. Rain falls over his ugly iron castle, and he hid his very soul amidst pools which refract light, causing it to sparkle and dance in a manner most specular. And at the end of things, when fire has been unnaturally bolstered for uncountable eons, man attempts to embrace the deep. For the darkness of the ocean is called an abyss, after all. The sea too churns, it ebbs and flows, sometimes calm and sometimes raging in the most torrential of storms. Deep within it's unknown darkness lurk creatures that are surely both monstrous and alien but, does that mean the deliberately mean us harm? HOPEFULLY among my last points, I'd like to briefly revisit Lordran. Here, I believe resides a Giant that is quite unique and particular among his kind: Hawkeye Gough. I believe this creature possessed two traits that are important to my understanding of things. He is a Giant, and when he shoots Kalameet out of the sky for the Chosen Undead, he is essentially blind. Sight is not all that goes into archery however. Nor was he *truly* blind. For the very air around him told him enough alone to earn his moniker of Hawkeye. When we meet him he is old, retired. Much of his purpose has been finished. A wretched black beast who long troubled the outskirts of Oolacile, a nation of man held in particular interest by the lord of light for their peculiar magic that bent light in a way which produced fascinating results. Thus was he stationed here, patiently whittling away the days until one might come along to take advantage of his peculiar talents. It seems logical too, that everyone's favorite pyromaniac old man would have one so attuned with air around him. For with the aid of a well placed wind, a blaze can reach a frightening intensity very quickly. Just...please lord, don't mind the smoke, nor how it's blackness obfuscates the lights' brilliance. Alright- now let's tie this all together and I'll just repeat myself a bit. Giants are the manifestation of the relationship between Man and Nature. They share many traits with mankind, which mankind in turn also shares with the other humanoid races. They band together, develop societies(however primitive), and discover or create things worth stealing. They also however, share many traits with the natural and primal world. They mold the earth, they tame the flames, they cross the seas, and sometimes they even whisper with the very air surrounding all things. They are a stoic and deeply loyal people, so much so that they would see the natural order disturbed before them and stay silent, as the deepest loyalty does not question their lord. But should a grievous sin be committed against them...they would crash down upon the offender primordial might, ensuring that they would be torn asunder. . . . Anyone still here? If you are, thanks a lot. I'm REALLY trying to remember that this is just a yt video, I swear. It's really weird to put a thank you at the end of a yt comment, huh. But thats exactly what I'm gonna do. First and foremost, thank you SilverMont. Honestly, I have no idea who you are but uh i think it shows that I enjoyed your video more than a little bit. When I originally started this comment I definitely knew it would be on the longer end of things but I can't lie I wasn't expecting uhhhh...7,936 within the first uhhh....3:15...whoops haha. Next, I'd like to thank two men who broadly represent the official end of my favorite franchise. Thank you Yui Tanimura(this man receives so, so, so much hate it's disgusting. If he ever somehow reads this, please know that there are those among us who deeply cherish the contribution you make), Hidetaka Miyazaki(duh?), and EVERYONE at FromSoftware. I'm not exactly the type to laud a company that makes millions a year but...well, they've got some really, really brilliant people leading them. I'd like to think that kind of thing trickles down. Finally, thank you Vaati, Hawkshow, Smoughtown, and each and every other person who treasures these games. The stories told within Dark Souls are naturally murky and convoluted. You could say that they're told within a land of grey crags, archtrees, and everlasting dragons....And we are the sparks, the souls, the lives that breathe disparity into it.

I have a theory (more or less) I'd like to share regarding to the question, *what happened to Priscilla after DS1?.* I know the theory is not perfect, but here it goes! In DS3's DLC, we can find Priscilla's boss arena from DS1 behind a hidden wall. There, we are invaded by Livid Pyromancer Dunnel and also find the pyromancer's parting flame item, which description states: "When Dunnel lost his hideous spouse, he gave his own pyromancy flame as an offering, which transformed into a parting flame". We all know Priscilla is referred to as "an abomination". So, when the game tells us that Dunnel made an offering to his "hideous spouse" and such offering is found right in Priscilla's boss arena, I truely believe the description is talking about her. So, she might be gone during the events of DS3, since Dunnel "lost his spouse". We don't know that for sure tho. However, *we DO know* that Priscilla (a crossbreed) would've married Pyromancer Dunnel (a human) and then, I believe *it's posible she gave birth to two children: Yorshka and the Painter woman (the one found in Ariandel's Chapel).* If Priscilla is a human/dragon crossbreed, then, genetically speaking, their daughters would be like a human/dragon/human crossbreed, in other words, they are more part human than part dragon. That would explain why they both have dragon features, yet clearly look more human than her mother. I think *the fact that Pris married a human (Dunnel), could be a reference to the DS fandom.* Pris is "an abomination" in the DS world, but she is loved by the fandom. So, the only being that would be capable of loving someone like her, would be a human...a human who can invade other players, just like any other DS player in the fandom. I have some ideas to include Gwyndolin into this theory and explaining his relation to Yorshka, but I'm just gonna leave this here. Thx for reading!

The Radahn we see in Caelid and the Elden Ring reveal trailer grew from the power of his great rune, which is a shard of the Elden Ring from the shattering. Before the shattering he obviously didn’t have that which explains the difference in his size. Same goes for Morgott, when we fight him he is big but after the fight in Leyndell his body lies on the ground, he looks very small and skinny. He also grew from his great rune but after we beat him and take it he shrinks to his normal form. It looks like at the point where Radahn and Morgott fought in the intro, only Morgott possessed a shard and Radahn didn’t have one at that point. But the effects of the great runes are different for every shard bearer which is why Malenia for example didn’t grow in size, seems like that only was the case for Morgott and Radahn.

i think allfather lloyd is another name for gravelord nito, the undead hunts directly serve the 4 lords plot to gather souls to link the fire as well as spread the undead curse. in dark souls lore it is difficult to separate the propaganda sold to the masses to perpetuate the undead curse from the actual facts which is why we seemingly have many important characters known by many names be it in reverence or to ridicule them and/or masquerading as entirely different figures to sell a lie (example: gwyn, lord of light/sunlight, gwyn, lord of cinder and gwyndolin possibly also being velka)

Man I ain't thought about these in a while. Ramble incoming: I was super into the idea of Velka being the one to send us on our quest to clear Lordran of the old gods due to their involvement in extending the Age of Fire, a grievous sin to say the list, but it doesn't make a whole lot sense I don't think. It's the consensus now that the "ancient legend" the narrator speaks of is to lure Undead to Lordran so that someone can rekindle the First Flame. Why would Velka want that? But then why is our ride to Lordran a crow, a symbol of Velka? Perhaps the legend was originally started by Velka, but was co-opted by Gwyndolin/Gwyn and Frampt? That would be helped along by finding some Velka stuff in the Painted World, a garbage dump if you will of things unwanted. According to Vow of Silence, Velka held great influence among the gods - she wasn't just some chump hanging out at the Anor Londo dinner table on dance night. Just taking that VoS description into account makes me imagine easily that Velka was somehow ostracized, or sequestered in some way so that Gwyndolin and Frampt could ensure the First Flame and Gwyn's will live on. I don't remember much of her influence felt in Dark Souls 2 besides the Judgement Set, but I was shocked how little of her was in Dark Souls 3. It was a thread I would have loved to have seen From Software pull on, but all we got was that statue in that dank catacomb underneath the Undead Settlement. I imagine some denizens of the settlement would pray to that statue regularly so that Velka might one day curse the gods who are responsible for the burnings, crucifixions, slaughtering, and taking-away-to-the Cathedral of the Deep of their town. Tragic that almost all of them succumbed to madness or death before such a thing could happen. Manus being the first Pygmy made a lot of sense to me when Dark Souls 1 and 2 were the only ones to exist. In base game Dark Souls, we fight all of the main players mentioned in the opening cinematic except one "furtive pygmy". We fight Dragonslayer Ornstein, but the other three Gwyn Knights are only mentioned in item descriptions. DLC comes by, we get a boss of the dark and emanating dark, and we get the other three knights. It just made sense to me that Manus was it, but with the Ringed City, it's likely he was just A Pygmy, because why would the first Pygmy have left the Ringed City, or decided not to stay there? Unless of course he died in the war against the Ancient Dragons, but that's some super speculative territory. It occurs to me only just now, all these years later, but what if that giant structure separated from the rest of the Ringed City was the first Pygmy's tomb? Like their equivalent of an Egyptian pyramid? The idea of Lloyd being older than Gwyn was always trippy to me, because doesn't that mean Gwyn wasn't the first Lord to claim a Lord Soul? But that it was handed down to him? Beyond that, a few years, oh man it's 2024, so about 6ish or fiveish years ago, it got a bit of traction that Slave Knight Gael was Allfather Lloyd. There's a Korean user on youtube that "translated" the "Latin" in Gael's theme, that seems to have the words "Lloyd" and "Allfather" in it, but it's dubious at best. LokeySouls has a good article about Lloyd if you haven't read it yet. He comes to the same sort of conclusion as you, that Lloyd filled the power vacuum left by Gwyn's absence. However he puts forth that Gwyndolin is the one who overthrew Lloyd. I was of the belief for a long while that Yorshka was daughter to Priscilla and Gwyndolin, and last I read, LokeySouls is pretty sure that isn't the case - that Gwyndolin is half-brother to Yorshka, but still Priscilla's daughter. But how that works exactly is unknown to my tired mind at the moment. Maybe I'll edit this comment later. Priscilla's origins, who can really say? I read a very interesting theory recently however that places Gwyndolin and Priscilla as parallels to the Omen children of Marika - heralds of the end of Gwyn's and Marika's ages respectively, making Priscilla Gwyn's daughter that he hid away due to her Lifehunt ability. Glad I was recommended this video. I used to think about Dark Souls ALL the fucking time, I shit you not. I used to get into arguments, nice discussions online about the sequence of events, themes, etc. This was a nice trip down memory lane. I'll watch some more of your stuff when I have time.

You're correct in that pygmies were humans; Manus, being the "Primordial Man," would have been the first human, in my opinion. He may not look it, but darkness is heavily associated with humanity, and the abyss is heavily associated with darkness. So as the father of the abyss, Manus would be, I argue, the father of darkness, and thus the father of humanity; the first man, in this case. For this reason I would argue that Manus is the first man. This does not contradict your theory, as we see Manus split into four different people in Dark Souls 2, which supports your observation that the Dark Soul splits and spreads through its descendants - humans, or pygmies as the larger lords called them. When we encounter Manus, he has taken what appears to be an inhuman form - this could simply be the influence of the Abyss over him, or it could be the original form of humans in Dark Souls, the remaining humans having grown smaller and weaker as the Dark Soul was divided over time.
@core-nix1885
@core-nix1885 24 дня назад
The Primordial Man line is a reference to how pygmies exist "outside the cycle". They're based on aboriginal, tribal Africans as compared with "civilised" societies (N.B Humanity originated in Africa, also Gwyn means "white") The cycle of light and dark is a reference to the cycle of culture and civilisation; forms developing and decaying - aboriginal societies transcend this. It's not a bad thing that they're "uncultured" or "uncivilised", it's simply their spiritual nature. My theory on Manus - it's the amalgamation of Shira and the Mad Pygmy King, driven to frenzy by Filianore's disturbance.

@knickohr01

@@SilverMont I think that part is clear. But for example, I've seen several opposing explainations on whether humans are supposed to be undead or not. The game tells you, that humans are mortal and only become undying when the fire fades due to Gwyns curse, but who says that we can trust this story? We know that Gwyn fears the humans and their darkness (because they are the opposite of him and the gods), so why should he tell them the truth about the curse he laid upon them? The pygmy and some of the other creatures we see finding the souls during the into cutscene already somewhat resemble hollows. Is this, what humans are supposed to be? I've also seen several conflicting theories on how the hollowing process works (yeah, I know that people loose their sense of self when they die too often) and why you can reverse it using humanity. Especially since humanity is supposed to be a fragment of the dark soul (as far as I know), and the player looses all humanity when he dies which would imply that he doesn't looses his part of the dark soul, which technically implies that he isn't a human anymore, because humans are the creatures with dark souls. I don't remember all theories I read about this, but there are still debates going on and no theory I came across until now was entirely self-consistent.

My theory about seaths children from long long ago. Seath is mortal, he wants to be immortal. There are 2 ways to achieve immortality. 1 is not dying. 2 is by having children, passing your genetic information to the next generations. Seath wants both. He kidnap women/godess from many places and inject his crystal halberd to them. He has many children like pris, and gwyndolin. Yes gwyndolin IS seath's and gwyn's wifes (velka?) son (white pale skin, snake feet, moon affinity, moon butterfly song, possibly blind) he's just far more seath than gwyn. Gwyn didn't suspect, but then they got naughty and pris was born. So gwyn banished pris and velka to the painting, while hid gwyndolin Pris grown older and more draconic, she got out of the painting where gwyndolin found her. He named her yorshka (dark moon ring description). He told her about father Gwyn. And together they led the darkmoon blade as FAMILYYYYYYYYYY

Are you suggesting that Priscilla is Yorshka? Isn't she signidicantly smaller, as well as younger looking? I think she's more likely to be her daughter or even sister

@@TheRealFrambo could be. All we know is, yorshka was nameless/had other name before gwyndolin found her. Where was she before gwyndolin found her? It's most likely inside the painting
