The fact that we were deprived of a NKOTB game full of 8 bit versions of their songs is a crime

Playing as Al Bundy on the nes would have been fantastic. They could have made a Maniac Mansion style game.

Great video! Shogun Maeda was a game developed by Vic Tokai and even shown on Ces. It’s another unreleased that looks solid from the screen shots. There are screen shots in one of the magazines from back in the day. Also, some of these unreleased games have even had the original box art paintings discovered and saved by the artist themselves. Pretty fascinating honestly how much goes into the production besides just developing the games themselves. I can’t imagine paying an artist to create box art was cheap.

Great list of games. It's bitter sweet that some of them did eventually find their way online but many others are lost or never even had anything actually made for them.

I wonder if one of the levels in the Married with Children game would have had a level in which you played as Al during a football game and required you to throw four touchdowns to finish the level.

As a 80s kid I always wondered why police academy never had a game. There were like 7 parts to the movie. Thanks for this video man, you brought back some awesome memories for me.

In the late 80’s to early 90’s, we had New Kids on the Block. And Parker Brothers was determined to make an NES game based on the New Kids on the Block. The gameplay story is basically you are trying to prove that you are the biggest New Kids on the Block fan ever in the entire world, and you have to travel the world in order to reach their concert, screaming fans, and a soundtrack of the New Kids' own music (if anything else, just to hear "The Right Stuff", "Step by Step", "Hangin' Tough" in 8-bit chip tune), similar to the 1983 Midway arcade game Journey. Your weapon is a cassette that you use that has New Kids on the Block music on it. And you actually use this weapon against New Kid haters literally. I guess people that really hate or don’t hate the music, and they do want you they do want you to go to this concert at all. That game was actually ended up not coming at all. Parker Brothers was intending to release it in the summer of 1991. And they scrapped the idea and they canceled the game, and ended up bringing us Monopoly on the NES instead. I really, really hope that one day, a ROM of that New Kids on the Block game will surface, and upload it to a site that's not taking their ROMs down.

I wouldn't mind hearing about more of these types of games that didn't get released to whatever happened. Really neat great video and keep them coming. I know I'll watch them.

4:02 Pat The Nes Punk loved that change of plans

I heard they were going to develop a rocky game on nes based off of the first 5 movies and that it was going to be made by American sammy. Which is the same company that made amagon and twin cobra on the nes. In the game, you would play as rocky and fight all his opponents from the movies. And there would also be a mode where you can play as the rocky villains. The reason for the cancellation of the game is unknown and all we know of the game is that it was supposed to be released in 1991.

Eartbound Zero with the easy mod is one of my favorites. I know that it's been released now, but for several years it was unreleased. Add Mother 3 with the fan translation as well.

This is the first of your videos I’ve seen in a while. Please cover lost video games more often. I wish we could have The Price is Right. I tried to make my own in the early nineties. Also would have liked to have seen Married... With Children and Police Academy.

If those games weren't cancelled, I would have liked to have New Kids on the Block, Pyross, Road Runner (Mindscape), and more, in my NES collection.

Twin Peaks nearly got an NES Game, it was scheduled to be released sometime in Mid-1991. it never happened!

On the subject of ‘Married with Children’ they made a game with ‘Bevis and Butthead’ so I could see a game about that. Make out the same game play and a story about Al on an adventure to get something and there you go.

Best Rom drop in my opinion was Vic Tokai's Secret Ties. It almost could have been a Golgo 13 game, or could have started out as a G 13 game.

Secret ties, the final game in the golgo 13 trilogy is such a good game and probably the best game of them.

Time Diver Eon Man was to be released in 1993. Late in the life of the NES when everyone was crazy about getting the SNES. No wonder why Taito decided to basically forget about it and just focus on the new console. They couldn't justify the cost to make just a small amount of game cartridges. Plus, I doubt Nintendo was still eager to continue making NES games when they wanted to move SNES and it's games to the world.

I wish they had released License to Kill by Tengen for the NES. I think it was either a port of the Amiga version or at least somewhat similar.

American Sammy had a Rocky game for NES in the works that was announced in an issue of Nintendo Power around the time Rocky 5 was in theaters. And nothing became of it.

I was really mad a few years ago when I read in Game Informer that there had been a cancelled Darth Maul game that was supposed to have come out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (I think). It was nearly finished and looked amazing. Star Wars 1 is definitely not my favorite in the series, but he's my favorite Sith lord. Another one I'm upset about is Twisted Metal Black Harbor city. That's one of my favorite series but unfortunately six of the developers of the game were killed in a plane crash so it got cancelled. I'm just glad that the four completed levels were included in Twisted Metal Head On for the PS2.
