Man you are a savior! I was pretty worried about what was going on, even reinstall chrome but it seems that the problem was at the Registry Editor - Local Machine. Thank you a lot!

Pretty good video....I notice this is still happening though from the browser hijacker malware being "updated" to do extra things to make it more annoying to remove. This so far was my current experience. Unfortunately unless one of the programs I tried, and probably others, are run from Safe Mode, they will find the "symptom files" of the Hijacker, but miss the actual Hijacker itself EVEN IF THE PROGRAM THAT INSTALLED THE HIJACKER IS FOUND AND UNINSTALLED. And even in this instance one more nice little present this program leaves for you is modifying your DNS server to some weird place in Indonesia in my case, which is designed to make it impossible to go to most any Microsoft website, MalwareBytes website, and probably several others. Once this last little tidbit was fixed things are now back to normal for me. The following comment starts with a reference of how to simply turn off the "Managed by your Organization" flag in Chrome, which while correct, is singularly unhelpful in the instance of this hijacker. Solution WILL indeed remove the "Managed by your organization" notation in your 3dot menu and when you look at "Extensions" and some other areas in your Chrome browser. THIS DOES NOT HOWEVER Resolve the main reason for many of these specific complaints about this recently. There is a new version of a Browser Hijacker virus/malware/trojan going around now and this is only ONE of the symptoms of what it does to your system. I should also note that a full scan of the system currently by MalwareBytes AND McAfee AV does NOT completely remove this hijacker from your system, mainly because MalwareBytes simply does not know how to find ALL the instances and modifications this Hijacker is making on your system, and McAfee has always been a bit more concerned with actual viruses and things that do permanent damage to your files on your system. If you notice a strange new Extension in your list of them, and it's the one that cannot be disabled then this is a sign that this Hijacker has in fact gotten on to your system. In my case it was from being foolish and running an executable file I thought was safe, even though it was from a suspicious source, because scanning the executable itself with McAfee did not find any issues with the file. It has taken me almost a week to finally get rid of this Hijacker but I now can say that I am back to normal operation. For me it was a lengthy manual process of finding registry entries and deleting them, deleting extension files manually from Chrome directories, and then finally realizing the last thing the Hijacker had done was changed my DNS server from my normal one to some weird place in Indonesia. Currently from discussion with other technical support users the easiest way to get rid of this program is to do a system restore from a date before it infected the system, if this is known, and is best done in Safe Mode, and with antivirus software temporarily disabled. IF the date the issue started occurring is not well known. Or there isn't any way or someone dosent feel comfortable in how to get into Safe Mode and temporarily disable their Antivirus programs then hopefully soon a more simplified and comprehensive solution will be forthcoming from MalwareBytes or some of the other major Antivirus manufacturers. Thank you so much!! I found a policy in the registry edit under Google>Chrome>BlacklistExtension . I deleted that registry and the "Managed" line is now gone from my Chrome. I initially did Three Dots>Settings>Advanced>Clean Up Computer but it seemed to scan for ages so I moved on to Registry edit. Thank you so much!!

Thank you!! btw I found it in local machine, software, policies, google, chrome, then the file. It wouldn't let me delete the file so I tried deleting the chrome folder, it didn't let me, but it let me delete the google folder and that worked and got rid of it.

thanks bro that creeped the shit outta me lol. it was in local machine and it was called "ExtensionForceList". after i deleted it i reloaded the policies on the chrome://policy/ page and the "your browser is being managed" message disappeared

Here is a tip, some anti virus programs have a real time web protection shield. (avast) When this is turned on the managed by your organization message will appear. If you delete your registry and it goes away only to come back when you restart your computer it's because another program in your computer is constantly putting it back. For me it was avast real time protection shield. If you turn it off the message goes away next time you open your browser. However if you checked your anti virus and your extensions and the messages still appears you may have a unwanted guest looking at everything you do on your browser. To remove that your may need to run malawarebytes or avast on the full scan setting. Sometimes you may need to boot up in safe mode just in case the virus tries to startup and interfere with your defense. Also deleting you browser won't solve the issue. In fact if you uninstall the program and not the registry that malicious policy will still be there. Don't be afraid of your registry editor. It's your friend, if your worried you'll mess you computer up just back up the registry. Of course do this on your home device not a business device. It's common to have your browser managed in places like school or work. Hope this helped the issue.

great video. happened to a client's mac.. I ended up forcefully deleting chrome completely using Mac Uninstaller to remove all trace elements, then restarting and reinstalling chrome. Works now.

Thanks! The registry thing removed the warning. I think one Brazilian stock broker implemented that policy somehow. Brazilian banking sites are usually awful in the sense they force you to install their "security tools" but I never saw anything like a website changing the policies in your browser like that.

YOUR VIDEO is the ONLY one that I found that helped with the problem. Current Mazy Search Redirect can not be removed or detected by Chrome or Norton. The ONLY way I did it was through the Regedit and found the policies for Chrome and something called Chromium... removed those policies and fixed it... ONLY thing I found that worked... THANK YOU! BRO YOU SAVED MY ACCOUNT TYSM I have been trying to get rid of it for days, and when you said they shouldn’t have any policies in the registry, I checked and sure enough there were the google and chromium policy folders. I deleted both out of policies and ran a full scan, and nothing!
