If Google Chrome Won't open or is not launching? Or Maybe You Can't Start Google Chrome in Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7. This tutorial will hep you fix that issue.
Google Chrome is the best browser for streaming, downloading, browsing, etc, but sometimes Google Chrome Fails to open and nothing happens when you click on it. You might have attempted to fix the issue but nothing works properly. Chrome isn’t launching Solution.
Google Chrome (from Wiki):
Google Chrome is a cross-platform web browser developed by Google. It was released in 2008 for Microsoft Windows and later ported to Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android. The browser is also the main component of Chrome OS.
This troubleshooting guide will work on Windows 10, windows 7, windows 8, operating systems and desktops, laptops, tables and computers manufactured by the following brands: HP, Alienware, MSI, Toshiba, Acer, Lenovo, razer, huawei among others.

I had a few, one in Program Files, one in Program Files (X86) (which had very little in so i deleted these), I also had one in users/myacc/AppData(hidden)/Local/. You could also just seach c: for Chrome.exe. Might take a while. Good luck

Find an application called new_chrome (it should be in the same folder where you found chrome) Launch new_chrome and create a shortcut if you would like.

Holy shit.... So I spent and hour trying to solve this issue through microsoft help and Google help and it was all super complicated reset this, reset that etc. You are a God send

Hey, you helped me a lot with my problem. I fixed my Chrome using the method where I had to rename the Chrome file. But now I had the problem again that I couldn't open my Chrome and wanted to use the same method again but if I go to program x86 and then go to the google folder I won't see a Chrome folder and the other methods don't work. Can you explain that to me or make a new video about it? That would be great

This was driving me nuts. For some reason, chrome was showing in 'program files' (not Program files x86) However, followed same instructions and it works, so happy enough with that :-) TYVM

Is there any way to get the renamed program to function as the default browser? I now have to copy and paste any hyperlink I want to open, and some programs don't allow a copy and paste of a button that opens a tab so I am unable to access these

Mine doesn't have a "chrome" folder... my three options at that step are "crash reports", "temp", and "update" so um... yea...

Waste of time, restarting works, no need to do any of the other stuff, but this means Chrome is still broken and does this atleast once a day for me, time to get Firefox...

no matter what i do it wont work, i dont even have a virus on my computer becasue i have norton life lock installed to my pc. Please help i dont want to lose all my passwords or even have to use microsoft edge, i just cant

Alternative Turn-Out- *SOLVED* Thank you for the video. Would have never checked here otherwise. In my case, the "Chrome" folder wasn't there. That told me that the PC doesnt recognize Chrome as an executable program and such I had to uninstall/reinstall. THAT solved my problem

There is no Chrome folder in x86. But there is a Chrome folder in c:\program files. (Latest version just installed.) The program shuts down immediately after double clicking the icon. Sometimes, rarely, it stays open for about a minute, and then shuts down without any info whatsoever.

Didn't work, I tried this 3 times the exact same way you did, it still didn't work, I'm not sure why so many comments are saying it worked, maybe I just have another problem. I was able to rename Google Chrome but it still didn't work. If anyone has any tips I could use that would be awesome. Thanks.

*this completely destroyed my pc in a way that I have no browsers and doesn't let me open chrome, so I'm stuck with no way to install browsers or go on chrome. THX ALOT THIS VIDEO REALLLLY HELPED CAUSE NOW I CAND DO ANYTHING* _edit_ _fix_ *go in search bar next to Windows logo and search chrome, there should be a download link next to it. Click the download link and it should take u to the bing browser, click download and do some sht that is easy to figure out and it should be pinned to ur task bar*

i think i want to give up after second failed. uhuhuhuu.. im stressed by this thing.. then i go open google file location.. then i delete the chrome1(the renamed chrome).. then i click on the new one.. and its open.. working.. .. huhuuuuhuu . now its work.. huhuhuu.. my give up lead me to the true path to delete and open the file.. huhuhu.. im stressed but now im releaf.. thanks btw

If you don’t see the chrome file go to google chrome on your desktop then right click google then click open file location . Then right click chrome. And then click rename. Name it chrome1. then click send to then desktop then re name it to “chrome” ☺️

The only downside I found is links from outlook will not open with this method when chrome is the default browser. If i change it to any other browser links will work.

The proper fix for this is right click your google chrome shortcut, go to properties, then compatibility, and check the two boxes for "dusable fullscreen optimizations" and Register this program for restart" and apply, no need to rename anything... This is a bug yet to be fixed on Microsofts part not Google, do this for temporary work around to not have to mess with renames.

Yes, this is easier and both the first method in the video and your method worked (when I renamed it back and applied your method). I renamed it back and applied your method to try to recover lost passwords, bookmarks, and extensions (luckily I had a backup since I had just moved to a new computer). I may have lost the data when I tried to reinstall Chrome and that didn't work. Wish I had come across your method before I lost my Chrome data! Hopefully your method won't cause the loss of Chrome data like one of the other methods did (probably the reinstall of Google with checking the clear history checkbox).

Oh my goodness, thank you so much. The method in the video also worked, but afterward, I had a problem opening external links. I noticed my PC didn't recognize my default browser which was chrome, and that was probably because of renaming it. And your solution was a better alternative to fix my initial issue! Thank you!

Nothing of theese worked for me. Chrome and Edge both stoped working after Windows 10 update (Firefox worked though). I've just downloaded ChromeSetup.exe frome the official site, installed OVER existing nonworking Chrome installation and it's back. With all my sessions and history and so on.

Subbed... Because if it works it is worth. Straight to point with no bs info and stupid music all through. As of 11/15/2022 it works. First one off bat did. Had to do a win 10 restore point other day. Course now I am working out the bugs. Chrome was one now fixed frim above vid without reinstall. But I need to add- curious what causes this issue?

Not working? Do this! Do the first method then right click "chrome.VisualElementsManifest" It'll send you to enternet explorer Look up google chrome Download it! And there you go! I hope tis helps! :)

Realised for me that the Microsoft family filter had blocked Google Chrome Or any browser except MS Edge from working. So logged into my Microsoft Account went into family and then adjusted the settings in there to allow Google Chrome to work for the accounts on the PC that I needed working

When Google Chrome won't launch it is running elsewhere on your computer. Bring up Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL at once . Select Task Manager You'll see the list of Programs running . STOP any processes that say CHROME. I had to stop 2 Google Chrome tasks . After stopping the activity Google Chrome launches normally..

The application folder was found in Program Files and not in program files (x86). Though i followed these steps in the program files folder, i am unable to launch chrome. :(
