If you can't get your LG up and running, dry a new 50" Amazon Fire TV from Amazon here amzn.to/3HguZCU I've been very impressed with the picture and quality of the Fire TV. Thanks for the help. Luckily in my case. My tv was very dim I couldn’t even see the settibgs menu. Reset method did not work. So I cleaned the vents behind tv with the blow dryer method and bam! My tv works. Thanks a lot buddy !
Holding or pressing the power button on the TV with it off is probably legit, drains the capacitors. Common troubleshooting step. What I don't get is why you would do it with the remote first, or at all. I would usually press a power button several times in a row to drain caps rather than hold and wait also.
My 55" inch UHD LG TV I bought in 2016 was already repaired once with line's going through the screen and I had a TV repair man come out and put a new circuit board in the TV in the center area towards the bottom, he told me my particular model had soldering issues, and a year later I moved the TV downstairs and it worked for a couple days at first and the then the next day it wouldn't turn on, I would try to turn it on but I would see a black screen but I would faintly see the letters LG show up (upside down) in the center of the black screen, just a very faint ghosting effect of the letter's LG. What could that be?
I had it replace the control board- hardware. Replacing capacitors are risky and one problem leads to another might replace the whole system. Save time
Cela a marché à 2 reprises mais depuis 8 jours plus moyen ! De plus ma télé LG ne possède pas un bouton à l'arrière de l'écran et la prise qui part du téléviseur ne se retire pas ! Pff ! À mon avis elle est HS !

If You Have Xbox Or PlayStation Go On Settings Find Customise Power Options Scroll Down To TV & A/V Power Options Then Tick Console Turns On Other Devices And Tick Console Turns Off Other Devices Restart And You Should Now Be Able To Switch On/Off TV By Using Xbox Controller 😉
So that model there is lg 42ln578v I fixed one four days ago. So it was a soldering mistake when the power board was made. If no capacitors have a bulge on top well they don't have to be replaced. Try wiggle each capacitor softly and if hear any clicking just resolder the faulty soldering.
