I tried this, I keep getting a message that files or folders couldn't be "enumerated," does that mean I have to do it one folder at a time? I just cloned my hard drive onto a new ssd, and now I can't modify any of my text files.
it's just fascinating to me that this OS has so many problems, including this, that it even hits me. why are people so blinded by sunshine and roses, thinking that win 10 is any good. where in reality it only caused grief? I can understand having so much luck dodging all these issues and having an opinion based on that. or beeing a casual cat and barely using it so they never run into problems. but I'm talking high end user here. u ask what grief? 1. getting forced to jump to win10 forcefully because they 2. stopped suport for win7 (the most godlike and unmatched OS by far) rendering it useless all of a sudden for everyone!!! 3. most inconvenient win10 instalation ever! 4. recent security gaps that shoock the world. 5. screen resolution incompatibility and inconsistency with any screen lower than 1080!!, 6. windows app store ....... ._. 7. and now this (shown in the video) I never had any of these issue on win7 and I had win7 for over 12 years, inwhich it never broke down on me, infact minor issues where easily fixable.
If this hasn't worked for some of you, then I have made another video using a different method which I have used for years that will work. I use it as a part of my programming and installing my own software so it has to work. Try this video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_-c_c6n3DJY.html
Hi, I use a DJ program with Windows 10; my music is stored in various files - some edits I make to the records (within the folder files) do not show as 'edited' when viewed within the DJ program, whereas some of the edits made do show within the DJ program - any ideas on this problem please?
So, does this fix the fact that the USB drive has all file with the E attribute and can not be decrypted and totally ignores the administrator rights saying device access denied
Thank you for guide, but I get - cannot enumerate error whilst trying to add the users part. Maybe they've changed something since you posted the guide ?
same, almost a year later and microsoft hasnt fixed its shit windows is cancer and i hate it but there is no easier alternative, what crackheads designed this system its so terrible
All my folders are read only and even the Admin account can't do anything about it. Even removed all extra hard drives, erased my raid-0 SSD array, reformed it and reloaded windows and as soon as windows booted, all folders were read only and only some files. So frustrating. PLEASE if anybody finds a valid fix, Please post as reply
Thank you so much for this solution, Please is the same process applicable to CD Disk; My friend asked me to format a CD but it Denials me access to change the ready only attribute .
Thanks! But i have too many files that i should change their properties one by one. So is there any solution to change their properties in single turn not one by one. Because there are lots of files. Please help. Thanks.
trying to use this in general for a sony camera that 'protected' a video I didn't ask it to. Was able to uncheck 'protect' successfully, yet when I import video, still says 'read-only', darn
tried, already knew this, but yet i checked your vid in case i was missing something.my problem is that after i add,and hit apply,i get an error for each file/folder in the hard drive i try to do this, that access is denied.no progam is running using any files of the hard drive, nothing in backround.so idk,i m kinda lost here.also happens to any external drive i put on,takes the default read only andcan t change it.i m running windows 7 proffessional 64 bits.problem comes when i have to move folders and files between drives/computers.my desktop broke and im on laptop tryiing to sav some work and move files between cards and usb sticks,2 external Hdd and some cds.but everything i put on the laptop, becomes read only.and i tried everything to change that.any ideas?¿thanks
what if only desktop excel files anc c: drive files are turned as "Read Only" and in the properties "Read Only" checkbox is unchecked but file opens only in read only mode and it is not allowing me to copy that file to other location also
I did the same thing but still cannot save, whats wrong with this excel,, on the properties its already uncheck.. i followed your tutorial but still the same.. what's wrong with my pc
if you're here for fallout in general. and this didnt work i havent really found a true fix. but i did seem to figure out what triggers the issue. (at least for me) What "worked" is turning read only off, clicking apply. But NOT clicking okay and loading the game back in. Saves work fine. However if you reload, or die. For some reason, the issue happens on these conditions. So if you know you're going into a high risk area either get ready to sweat your balls off or just toggle TGM and not die. Kinda sucks the fun out of it esp if youre on survival but yeah, time saver lol. Ive been trying to figure out why it happens when the game reloads the last save and if i do ill probably post it here. But dont get your hopes up. Also props to Awesome Andrew for posting these solutions. Its great if they worked for any of yall and its cool of him to post it.
0:32 Well, well, well, how about that!? I don't have the *ADVANCED* tab! The files are on a portable SSD! But I don't remember telling it to be "Read Only!" 😠
Look. I'm on my Admin account; I have full control over permissions. I've changed my attributes, changed my partitions to remove read-only, disabled my virus scanner, unchecked the box controlled folder access in my protection settings, went to CMD administrator, and did everything the tutorials said. Nothing works. Windows 10... it's great and normally my PC works fine, but these things suck tremendously because I can't modify any folders on my server and how can I run my business this way?
there is one more way which i will need to do a video on, it requires to download a program and edit the location of the folder you are having issues with inside some basic code, but it is very easy, once you run that it will work on any folder
@@Gspotje its called Inno Setup, its a compiler for programmers hence why i would need to show people how to use it as you will need the code to do so. I wrote some code for my own software using this program that forces full access to folders i need to install files for my software
@@AwesomeAndrew Ok yes that's clear. Jeeez I just made a post on the Microsoft Help Forum. I just think it's ridiculous that people like you have to go to such lengths to just uncheck a read only folder. I'll be waiting for that tutorial than 😉
nope didn't help me at all, I keep unchecking the read only box and it keeps reverting, I followed your steps plus a bunch of other videos and still read only box keeps reverting, I'm guessing the only solution for this is reinstalling the OS
So the only real selection here other than format is to install Phoenix os installer and use cz file manager and go and delete the stupid folder note if it didn't work just reboot and try again it works for real your welcome
