"When a folder has a read only status in Windows it usually means that all the files in that folder are read only too." NO!! The check box you see on the General tab of a folders properties is for "attributes" on that folder object. Something behind the scenes that even IT people almost never change. Test this yourself. Right click on your desktop and select to create a new folder. Call it whatever you want. Open the folder, make a new file, edit the file, delete the file. You have all the permissions you need, but if you look at the properties of the folder on your desktop you will see that the "Read-only" box is checked. If you are having problems accessing or making changes to the contents of a folder you need to adjust the NTFS "permissions". NTFS permissions are adjusted in the Security tab.

yeah that readonly check is very misleading and doesn't actually mean that files and folders in that directory are read only.

damn, i'm having some issues with applications because my Documents Folder got the ( - ) Mark in "Read Only", can you explain it and how to fix it? because some applications can't create config files into it soo it becomes pretty unnusable

Yes I hate this update whatever happened I know all my files are read only.. the problem is you have a whole bunch of people telling you what the how to fix it none of them have the problem itself so they really don't know what they're talking about about.
