You could take the "one" and move it over the minus sign making it a plus sign and that would be read as: 4 + = 4. ( Four plus zero = 4) Zero does not have to listed as a numeral...any blank in an equation is equal to zero.

The only answer not given is 9-5=9 It actually has 2 correct answers: 1. Take the vertical left stick from the second 9 ( makes it a 3) and make the other 9 an 8(8-5=3) 2. Take the same stick and turn the 5 into a six 9-6=3

My daughter and I came up with different solutions, both involving moving the top left vertical stick on the 9 on the right: 8-5=3, or 9-6=3

For the puzzle "4-1 = 4" take the match making the minus sign and put it on the far right with the tip up... that gives you "4 1 = 4 1"

number 5, you could send the minus sign to make a 1 in the other side of the equation and get 41 = 41 but there would be a space between the 4 and the1

iN PUZZLE NUMBER 2, I'D MAKE IT 7-7=0 BY MOVING ONE MATCH FROM THE PLUS AND CHANGING THE ONE INTO A SEVEN -- making it 7 minus 7 =0.

Another way is you take the top-left stick from the 9 and put it on the bottom-left part on the 9, witch makes the 9 a 3, and the other 9 a 8. So, 8-5=3! The people (Or Monsters, Bots, Ect..) who got this, reply and say "Yep!"

#6. From the 9, move the top left stick and put that on the bottom-right part on the five, that makes the 9 a 3. And that makes the 5 a 6. So, 9-6=3! People who also got this, reply and say "Same"

Do the sticks have to remain in the puzzle for it to be considered a valid solution? On #1, the top of the 7 could be removed, leaving 0+1=1. #4 could be 7-6=1. #6 is 8-5=3

#2 could also be 7-7

On the fifth problem, my solution was to take the minus sign and turn it into an absolute value bracket to make |4| = 4.

I have only looked at the first two so far, but, for#1 -> 0+1=1 (using a vertical match to extend the 1 on the right) and for #2 -> 7-1=6 (using a vertical match on the upper left of the zero to make it into a six)

Move the vertical left stick on 9 on the LHS of the equation (to convert 9 to 3) and place it as the lower vertical stick to convert 5 into 6; 9 - 6 = 3.

For most of these, you could move one of the matches to turn = into (does not equal). In the last one, you could move the top line of the = to get

#5 A slant is not an X. It is only 1/2 of an X and is only used in fractions, as I just demonstrated. But it still works. 4/1 = 4

#2 alternate: take the upright from plus sign and put it at the top of 1 to make it 7... 7-7=0. #6: the second 9 - take the left match from the 9 to make it 3, then put it on the bottom left of the 5 making it a 6... 9-6=3.

7 - 0 =1 has a second answer. Like in the given answer, move the top match from the 7, making it a one; then move the removed match to the other side of the equation as 1 to the first power. 1 - 0 = 1 (to first power).

Any solution that you FEEL is correct is correct... It's all about your feelings. Common core math.

9-6=3 MOVE THE upper left vertical match from the 9 total to the bottom left vertical position of 5 thus transforming 9 into 3 & 5 into six ergo EZPZ!!!

I wonder for the last one, can moving the stick from the first nine and put it over the equal sign to make 3-5 (not equal sign) 9 count as an answer? I know the normal answer, and some people in the chat here mentioned it, by moving the stick from the second 9 to the first nine and make it 8-5=3

For the 4-1=4, change the angle of the top line of the = sign so its left end touches the left end of the bottom line, making it a "less than" sign. Four minus one is less than four.

Take the match stick from the =9 and make it a 3 then make the first 9 into an 8. ( 8-5= 3)

The 4 - 1 = 4 is invalid, a 1 is made up of two sticks.

Change the 2nd nine to 3 and use the stick to change the first 9 to an 8. 8-5 = 3

The negative number in #2 is not fair. A much easier way is 7 - 7 = 0. That makes much more sense. Negative numbers in equations is like cheating. Don't cheat.

8 - 5 = 3 So, make the RHS 9 into a 3 by removing the top vertical match and shifting it to the LHA 9 placing it as a lower vertical match turning the 9 into an 8. Poorly said but you get the idea...

#6 - the second 9, take the upper left matchstick from the 9 and move to a 5. The 9 now turns into a 3 and 5 now turns into 6. Result: 9-6=3

8-7=1,7-7=0, #5 minus sign over the =makes 41 not equal to 4. Got all but #6. Lol my answers were different. That was fun 😁

4 - 1 = 4 / My programmer solution is take the 1 and place it on top of the "minus" thus forming 4 == 4 which is true!

Take the vertical stick at the top of the 9 that comes after equal to symbol so that that 9 becomes 3 and place on the space of 8 so that the 8 becomes nine and at last it will be like 8 - 5 = 3

#2 has another anwswer. Take one matchstick from the plus sign making it into a minus sign and put it on the top of the 1 making it into a seven. 7-7=0. Solved!!

Here is a funny (naughty) little trick. Place four matches to make a square. Make a second square one match distance apart from the first one. Then tell the person to move only two matches to make one manhole utilising all matches but only by moving two of them. This turns the first square into the letter C, and makes a T of the last single match. Then move the top horizontal match of the second square and place it diagonally between the first and second single match.
