This guy is a perfect example of why it is hard to get out of low elo hell on premier and faceit. Dude is going afk at beginning of rounds without calling timeouts and fucking up the timings…Pienix is doing God’s work
If anything, seeing how he coaches the player would teach the viewer more than the critiques of the pretty awful gameplay. You have no idea how many games you can win in the middle ranks, or at least have a good chance at winning, if you just tell struggling/clueless players “good job last round on B, actually just play B unless I say otherwise, okay?” or “Nice entry, try to go in first next round too, I will flash behind you.” You do need a much softer tone to not tilt people in real time, but correcting basic things like using the wrong gun for the range or not going to the right site on CT is pretty good to learn to pick up on and mention. I would imagine this is less important in 15000+, or really any Faceit level beyond 2-3 seeing as people there are a bit smarter.
I really enjoy the way that you speak about the game with lots of aggression and force. I think a lot of people, myself included, respond better to someone who is very engaged and not afraid to be harsh when needed. At the same time… I think a lot of your viewers also know not to get a drink of water instead of playing pistol…

@@pienixcsI can understand this guy's problem with sites, a lot of times when you play mm you won't always get the site or area you are best at if it is solo. He needs at least 2 areas his confident in so a back up for those times he doesn't get his first preference. Great tips, can you do a video on how to beat slow crouch peaks?
Pistol round is the most important round in the game. Teams who win both pistols make up like 80% of wins. It sets you up to win at least one more round if you play well. You can't be away, there's never a good reason for it, you hit accept 30 seconds ago, you should be ready. Easiest way to lose a round. On vertigo it is more important than nearly any other map. On T side, you are likely to win only 4-5 rounds even on a good game. So if you win pistol, win the buy afterwards, win against either an eco or a poor buy from the CT's that's 3/5 rounds already done. Once the CT economy starts working the CT siding is really going to work in it's favour. As a CT on Vertigo, you have been given the single easiest half in CS. Don't fuck it up. Don't even let the T's have the pistol round. Build a strong economy and deny them, whitewash them. On CT pistol, you should be infopeaking angles and getting a strong rotate to start the game. You cannot do that if you missed all the calls. It's also super rude and will tilt some teammates. They are happy to call a timeout if you need one, just please commit to being there or asking for a timeout. He could have doubled up for the guy mid, maybe they would have gotten a kill or two. Honestly, if you make that mistake, it's kind of pointless to ask for a coach's feedback on that, it's just so basic, you were afk and got tagged before you were back in the game, your team lost an important round and you weren't there, annoying everyone, wasting people's time, and getting them killed before failing to be of any use whatsoever. All you had to do was run to top ramp, hear no footsteps, hear the mid call, and peek elevator, so mindless a bot could do it but it was too easy to get distracted while the game connected. To be honest, it looks like alt tabbing. Usually all you can say to that is "uninstall". The only moments that matter to these people are the minutes where the game is live and they are alive. They don't care at all about their teammates game, and instead of ticking the "play audio in background" tab, they alt tab, get on their phone, whatever, miss the round start and mess up the timings every time. I don't care if you don't want to watch your teammates play, you need to be ready at round start or I will tag you with a pistol. Playing the same angle each time is such an important thing. One, you should be pretty good on at least one angle for each site CT, so you have options, but you play the same position, so you're in the zone for that position. Additionally, there's a rhythm and a flow to defending an angle on CT, like, the sort of timings where you'll predict they should have been there, and that it's likely the other site. Or do they throw the same util each time? Do they give away numbers with their util? Where did you position yourself on that angle last time? If you're switching angle, maybe you go onto the angle someone else was holding, you get hit by a nade they've been timing that you didn't know about, and then you get shot because you played the same spot that he did for the last 3 rounds. One of my favourite positions is A short on CT on Dust 2. I know how the fights there work. I know how the t's will attack, I know what the fights are if I play higher on it, and if say, I get a multi on them when they push there, I can assume they won't do the same thing again, and that they'll try to play me from mid, or lowers, and that I should angle for getting that guy. You can use set util to indicate plays, and then go back and forth on them-I like to throw util that lets me push the enemy, flashes, smokes. Maybe one round I throw that util and push them hard, win the round, and teach them that that util means we might take that position hard, and they have to respect that. Maybe I destroyed their rush and then peeked their mid guy. Maybe they stop playing mid altogether. Maybe I throw a smoke top mid and push behind it, maybe I get a 2-3k, from then on if they see that smoke they wait it out. All of it gets lost if you switch position so you need a good reason. Change angle for good reason. Your teammate is struggling on his angle and wants a changeup, sure, you give him that. But you need that rhythm and to get better at playing that team with that setup until you win.

and rather than switching to cheats or quitting altogether, he instead sought out a coach and submitted a horrendous demo for him to view. it takes a lot of maturity to seek out guidance from others and to put your own shortcomings out there for everyone to see. I think he has a very good chance of improving far beyond where he is currently.
