The FN key + F6 worked for me after trying many different things, over a few hours, that did not work. As soon as I pressed FN key + F6, the light activated on the camera. And now "Camera" shows up on the Device Manager's List....Thanks

thanks for the video. I tried the frist two method, didnt work, and the 3rd, I can 't find the camera in device manager. I tried to google this issue still cant find. If anyone can tell me how to fix this, it would be much appreciated
Many thanks for the instructions on how to fix this - the FN key + F4 (for my laptop - MSI GE 76 Raider) absolutely did the trick. Was a very frustrating hour or so until I came across this video. Thank you again! :-)
Tried to follow this steps by steps but for some reason I can't find the camera in the device manager. :( How? Please help... Need the laptop for online schooling
Go to your device manager then you will see the option "view* above. Click the option "view" then you will see a option "show hidden devices". Click on and after this the camera option is available
Did you check the Camera On/Off button located on the right side of the computer? Its very small and hard to see, but can easily get turned off which would remove the Camera from the Device Manager. No matter what you do it won't show up unless its on. Trust me!
None of this worked for me. First of all i couldnt see the camera under the device manager, it didnt show up even after i pressed "scan for hardware changes" or "show hidden devices". then suddenly today it showed up,i watched this video and uninstalled it and now its completely gone, cant find it anywhere. checked in the device manager and in the "show hidden devices". I HAVE LITERALLY TRIED EVERYTHING IT DOESNT WORK. i updated drivers from my laptop manufacturers page, uninstalled the updates... SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE
make sure you installed the camera driver for your computer brand. I had to go find my brand of laptop for lenovo then install it there. maybe you guys have to do something similar
Go to your device manager then you will see the option "view* above. Click the option "view" then you will see a option "show hidden devices". Click on and after this the camera option is available
I dont understand this... My Microsoft Lifecam studio have been working 100% before.. After installing windows 10, doesn't matter what i do it doesn't work... i have tried ALL the soulutions on youtube and google but nothing works.. keeps freezing and turns off. the camera app keeps saying the same error, as in the video..

Same for me, I followed the instructions and uninstalled the camera and went to scan, and now it won't recognize that I have a camera. This video is honestly a bunch of bull 🙄

For some reason i have this camera problem that it always disconnects everytime when im about to use it idk if my camera is the problem or there is something im missing here
Hey there, I was having the same issue; But was able to find it. My camera was located in a different tab in the device manager. I forgot the tab's name, but I believe the tab was called "unknown devices" or "other devices"; somewhere along those lines. After finding my camera, I chose to update the drivers for the camera, and voila, the camera tab appeared, as well as, my camera. Hopefully, this helps you. If not, good luck finding a solution.
@@karlvincentbalcita1973 try the Fn key of your keyboard + some other key (in my case it was f11, but everyone is saying it's a different one on their keyboards) The point is my f11 actually has a little icon of a photography with a padlock, if you know what I mean. Good luck!
This Fixed mine, none of the above fixed it and I tried everything from microsoft and the camera maker and even my tablet maker but this did....I had to reinstall the drivers from Asus for my previous version of Windows which was 8.1 NOT WINDOWS 10 camera drivers! (those don;t work). Even Asus didn't mention doing this. They're idiots. That's my tablet maker and I run Windows. The package I downloaded was listed under Chipset and it was the full package that included SOC Driver package AND (VGA and camera drivers included) Intel Official Driver updates. The other package only had the SOC package. Mine didn't Run automatically but when I unzipped it, I just clicked on Application. Camera works fine now. Good luck everyone.
None of these did anything, mostly because the options you tell me to follow don't exist. Same OS. Half the shit shown in your screencap don't appear for me in any capacity.

Thank you ! Third method worked for me :) I saw few people telling it didn't work for them. 1. Make sure you have windows 10 2. If no camera option then it will be "imaging devices"- 3rd method
I have had this issue for over a year. Had to reset my computer for certain reasons. Was hoping reset would have fixed it... It did not. Was browsing the net and saw someone had wrote Push FN + F6 (FN is located in between the left CTRL and ALT) My camera now works and is detected in device manager Hope this helps
If you have Blocked Recording mode ON, turn it off. Use FN and F11 to do that, or, if you pressed FN and FN Lock, to keep the FN feature off, just press F11. I tried these methods and it didn't work, all because the dang F11 feature was on :']
Thank you, I used method 3 as well. "Camera" didn't appear in the list of devices, so I had to tick "show hidden objects" from the View menu tab. Then I disinstalled, searched for the driver. It didn't work immediately but I had to restart the laptop. It feels like a miracle, because (I must be dumb) searched for days for a solution and tried other methods. Thanks again!
@@karthikd763 ok, once you "Show Hidden" from the "View" menu, it should show you "Camera" in the list. So right click and "disinstall drivers" for Camera. At this point the drivers are not on the laptop anymore, you could try "refresh" (right click on the top of the list, like the tutorial says, that was the step didn't work for me. But if you restart the computer, the system should download the drivers automatically.
hello there I have a used pc and in device settings I do not have the camera icon or the USB video device I also don't use an USB I have the camera build in the pc please help
ok, tried all of that before watching the vid. My issue is device manager also doesn't even show the built-in camera from my laptop at all since the stupid update -- which I tried rolling back, but damage already done.
Go to your device manager then you will see the option "view* above. Click the option "view" then you will see a option "show hidden devices". Click on and after this the camera option is available
For the ones still having this issue: FN + F6 (on the keyboard) should fix it. Nothing else works anymore after windows updated their system a year ago.
@@alinazubair4884 Nope, just fn+f6 should do it, if that doesn't help than I don't know what will because nothing I found on the internet worked (even resetting my entire pc/reinstalling drivers)
Amazing, thanks so much! I continued getting the code after trying several methods and watching 20 youtube videos. The 3rd method on this vid fixed my camera. You completely uninstall the camera (not under imaging devices), under "camera"... and when you scan for hardware changes, it will reinstall automatically and be fixed. Thanks so much!
@@samstephanos4592 install camera driver manually from your laptop's brand manufacture website. For example I typed in my asus laptop's model and went to camera drivers and installed that. Video started working nicely. No extra steps
I spent over an hour doing all the steps and nothing worked.... If you have an HP Lenova, maybe other brands as well but not sure, there is a small camera switch on the right side of the keyboard!! Turn this on and you wont have any problems! It is super small and easily missed. Hope this helps alleviate some headaches
If all fails - shut down laptop, when shut down - press power button once, when you see loading screen (Dell, HP icon) - press down power button until laptop goes off (normally 8-10 seconds) - then once off press power button once to start-up - this fixed it for me. - Possible driver/hibernate/sleep/proper power off issue. I tell my guys to do this monthly. HAVE YOU TURNED IT OFF AND ON AGAIN - PROPERLY? :)
There's no camera at all in device manager. Even though I can see the lens on the computer. Just got a new (used) PC & right out of the box there are problems. Really wish I'd had the $ for a new one.
i think my acer helios 300 camera is not working. tried every software tricks i can but none works but i think its the hardware issue. while using the zoom app, suddenly it crashed and the camera stopped working. even in the device manager the camera option is gone. i want to know how to replace or fix the camera by opening the upper case only if its possible. and how much the camera replacement costs?? plz reply.. if anyone have same problem plz reply..
