This is specifically for codes 01217 and 1218, both which indicate an error in the side air bags, both passenger and driver sides. This video will help you fix your problem, showing you which connector you need to bypass or clean. The code may come up as intermittent, sporadic, or static. This was included in Volkswagen's TSB 69-08-02 / 2011271. This problem could come up in most VW Models, including the Golf, Rabbit, GTI, Passat, GLI, R32, an EOS, throughout years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
