Hello! could you help me? i have a sony a7c and the battery cover is dented. I bought a new cap but I can't change it. you know how to do?

I had two Sony cameras they both had a lock switch on the inside part so you can take out or install the battery cover easily. If it does not go easy brute force might help :)

That is really interesting topic.. I would probably do that with some back up camera, its a bit risky open everything as some of these cables are really easy to break.. sometimes even by switching few screws you can affect functionality of the camera. Its a risky process.. but if you want to do it, I think its accessible you dont have to go that deep like for changing shutter. You just replace the filter with the glass. I heard full spectrum cameras are amazing for astrophotography. Good luck

yes I can, I just bought new shutter from Alibaba and replace it.. but its always bit risky because to get to the shutter you really need to dismount almost everything.. and one mistake can mean that the camera is not perfectly leveled and it might cause problems with focus etc.. For me the problem is that I am in Mexico and they dont know how to repair Sony.. i would have to go to Mexico city or USA.. and estimate cost for repair they gave me was over 1200 USD.. The shutter on Alibaba costs like 20 dollars xD

Sorry bro, well I fixed it by replacement 😬.. you can either try to open the shutter by force and hope it will not happen again or shoot on a silent shutter for the rest of your camera life (you just won't be able to use flash). Or you can disassemble the camera and on the shutter, there is one screw controlling sensitivity.. you can play with that and test the shutter manually. But I would recommend buying a new shutter to avoid issues in the future. Unfortunately, Sony has bad fame for shutters..

Hopefully I didn't have this issue yet.. but if / when I will, I will try to take my chances with the screw first... that would be interesting. There must be some calibration recipie we could reverse-engineer. I bet a new shutter is pretty expensive
