probably better sell this A7s and use the money toward buying a cooled CCD

Did you remove the shims or not? It was not clear in the end. I also converted my camera and leaved the shims inside, which was a big mistake, because of this I don't have infinity focus so I have to take it apart again and move the sensor closer to the lens.
