I've just come in from fixing the bottom of mine as the person who had it before hadn't under the screw and broke all the plastics. Made four rubber washers 5mm hole and clampy clampy fix worked! I love the fact here you used a proper clip and the fact and you wanted it to be exactly central. Def one for my list of things to do now. Much easier than what I'df come up with! Thumb. And yes, useful.

Mine was the same. I did the same but used nuts and bolts on all three clips. Mine also had broken clips under the bumper so used some metal L shape brackets and it’s looking as go as new.

Yeh I think once my front bumper is resprayed I may do the two sides the same to make it as tight as possible

so typical mk6 problem, every single one out there has screws on bumper clips.

There are also tabs on the bottom that you can add material to and clamp in place.

i thinkk ive heard that there should be clips. The bodyshop that smoothed the front bumper said this but not jacked the car up since to have a look.

To be honest the splitter you fitted to the bottom of the bumper probably exacerbated the problem by adding weight and wind resistance but good job fixing it

Any help with closing up the gap either side of the lights where the bumper meets the arch piece

il have to check mine but dont think thats an issue with mine. maybe the brackets that hold them together have bent? i would take the hedlights out and see how they look. May need to adjust them or but some sort of little metal bracket, nuts and bolts and make it stronger

Could maybe get one off a Mondeo and cut it to size, lad at my work has one and I'm tempted to take some measurements of it and see if it's possible

Have you got a link to those clips you used? My bumpers sagging too, and they look the same as the ones used underneath rear diffuser 🤔 which I also need 😂

Mine had the gap too, i just screwed in a small screw, no drilling or sort of that, and it was gone after that

I think the issue we or I have is having a front splitter on. As the air is hitting it and pushing it down so it's forcing the front bumper downwards. I need to secure it on each end as well

Yeh still good. I've been doing all kinds of mods since so had to take the headlights off and remove the plastic plug thing and replace a few times. Definitely helps the front bumper
