Nice job. But when I see people doing all these mods, all I can think about is the devalue of the pack, because now your cyclotron is broken. If people want to do all kinds of mods, just buy a Spirit full-size pack and have at it.
@E. Bernhard Warg exactly it was a great idea to leave that in so they can see each thing you tried until you found something that worked which is basically what you just said lol
It’s too bad something that cost a fair bit of money, was lacking in QC by Hasbro. It seems to me that making sure the lights run and look proper, is pretty basic level. Very informative, but if this would have been me, I would have cursed and broken something out of frustration
If you think $399 for this is a lot of money than you must be a broke ass. You can’t get a fully built pack for any less than $2000, and it can cost up to $3000 to build one yourself. And if you want movie quality, you’re looking at $3500-4500
I had the same issue with the lights and after I snapped it apart like you did I drilled 3 very small holes and put screwing the hold the cover I realy don't like the way you can see the leds I wanted to try to defuse them but no luck any solutions
At 11:30 and 11:39 it looks like there are screw mounting points around the rim, you could drill from the inside of the bottom part out, that might give you holes that would line up. If you're worried about it looking "accurate", could maybe use low profile hex bolts or something similar? otherwise some small countersunk screws would do the trick? That way it might be sturdy the whole way round, but still easily accessible if needed. Couldn't tell without a closer look but worth a shot? I don't have access to one to check unfortunately.
So I’m retrospect is there any way you think you could go about this without breaking whatever clips hold it together? It’s hard to tell, are there clipping points that broke or was it just not going back together easily?
@@ebwarg that’s so depressing. And I know the Facebook video you’re talking about. I commented on it when it got posted. Wish they wouldn’t have failed to mention that bit. Kinda wish you could get a close up on the broken bits so I could see where to leverage the top to come off
Nope, only one. And it somehow happened to be the one I kept for myself! This was fortunate, because I’m not sure the others (one in particular) could have fixed it as easily as I did.
