It's a full safety. It's just not fail safe. It is fail evident, though, which is a reasonable attribute to want around loud machinery.

You could try blowing up a Rubber Test-Ball Pipe Plug inside the inner pipe below the area you intend to cut to serve as a stopper. It would catch all the debris which you could later vacuum out. Awesome video!!

Nice 👍 I like going down south and drilling a few times a year... lots of duke energy sites ...nice easy safe drilling ;) compared to up north.... specially drilling wells when its below zero 😂 complete hell most days 💪 makes you a better driller I guess though 🤠

Nice video! You had me cringing when you where cutting the inside of the pipe. My drill chuck occasionally loosens up and my bits fall out. Would hate to see that cutter fall down the pipe!
@h2omechanic
@h2omechanic Год назад
Yea, it's almost happened a few times. I run the blade flipped & the drill forward so it tightens while cutting. Plus I put a death grip on the chuck. I've got magnets incase something falls. My grandpa dropped his keys down a well before, fell out of his shirt pocket 😆

How do you line a 4 inch well casing?
@phenry5083
@phenry5083 5 месяцев назад
Its taken me about 6 videos to realize you're calling a coupling an "inline" I kept looking for an inline filter for check valve and couldn't figure out what the hell I was missing.

Where I am from it is illegal to have anything more than the actual meter exposed to outside access. All circuit breakers, fuses and cut off switchs have to be inside, either in the house or in a lockup garage. It's a security feature. Easiest way to get access to a house is to turn off the power and when the residents come to investigate you can just walk in.
@batemanjo9
@batemanjo9 8 месяцев назад
Well that's silly. Where I'm from if an intruder wants to access your home they just kick the door in. Happens more often than people think. I know some neighbors who had front and back doors kicked in. They want to be quick when you're not home.

I have steel casing. Where the pitless goes in it appears to have been “repaired” at some point with black pvc. The hole in the black pvc is too big for the rubber seals of the pitless. So, the pitless is just kinda hanging on the edge and I don’t want to back fill yet because there it’s not sealed. I was thinking of just getting silicone and gibbing the heck out of it and worrying about it later, but I’d rather just do it the best I can now while everything is open. What would you recommend?
@n8errific
@n8errific 5 месяцев назад
I’m thinking of sealing the current hole with pvc and adhesive sealant. Then drilling a new hole for the pitless on the other side of the casing and running more pipe. It means more digging but I’d rather do it now while it’s already mostly open.

Can you put a liner in a 4 and 5/8 in. OD old steel casing approx. 165 feet in depth?
@h2omechanic
@h2omechanic Год назад
Doubtful. It needs to be bigger than 5.5" and typically liners don't always fix shallow wells. Youd need to have deeper veins feeding in water bc the liner will block off the upper dirty water vein

My well pipe has a torque arrestor on it, is that not needed with a continuous run of black pipe?
@h2omechanic
@h2omechanic Год назад
Not a requirement, they're needed in certain rough well formations

What was cause our well to stop working after it rains , we have good clean water 400 foot in southwest virginia ?
@h2omechanic
@h2omechanic Год назад
If it only stops during a rain? That's typically a bad wire in the trench, shorts out in wet ground conditions. Get an electrician to do a MEG meter test on the wires.

Cannot believe all the drama for a bore hole pump. Here in South Africa a guy arrives with a rig, drills the hole, a pump guy comes and drops in a pump with required length of black hose with about 1 meter of hose sticking out of top of pipe and off he goes and their electrician connects electrics and thats it, Water. What you do there after is your business and NO inspectors or any official interferance. Only if your borehole produces an increadable amount of water will the local Municipality require that they use your borehole in the event of an emergency, ie huge uncontrolled fires in area or extream drought relief. It is amazing how intrusive your local and federal governments are Regards from South Africa

Thats why the good ole usa has inspectors cause people that dont have a clue what there doing try to fix stuuf on there own and its for safety.

What exaxtly is a mud seam?
@h2omechanic
@h2omechanic Год назад
Drill thru 30ft of solid rock, 70ft-100ft & at 101-102ft a bunch of sandy/muddy water is found, but at 103ft-300ft+ it's back to solid rock again. That's a mud seam. Somehow the 102ft vein holds water but there a crack in the rock far away that's connected to surface material. (Similar to a fresh water spring, but has a reverse affect) water doesn't find its way to the surface, mud & sediment can find its way down into a fresh water zone. Once you hit that area & remove water from it, it pulls the mud down to that area. So we line out the dirty water to prevent it from mixing with cleaner water found deeper. 1 in 50 chance but fixable. No1 likes nasty water.

May i ask what is the cost where you are to put in a 145 ft line from well to the house. Just an estimate of what it could cost . Perfer the highest price. What to see the cost difference from NC to PA. Thanks
