methylated spirit for cleaning rubber/plastic seals - wipe it off several times, then apply some silicone lubricant (methylene dries rubber a lot so always apply lubricant after cleaning). works wonders, you will not see any mould for several years
lots of water^^ Winter is coming. It will be the 5th winter and I am really watching out for this problem. I mean any leak is disturbing. First it will be wet and damp in the car. Let pass a few weeks and it will smell frowsty over time. Hopefully the lowrr rear plastic window is still sticking strong. lol Good video and and a good solution! cheers
wait until the big center section starts gathering water that is fun to take off. Next time just leave bulb inside while you unscrew the nuts, and the electrical wires have clips.
Good Vid......my 2011 FN1 has started to fog slightly inside the lenses on damp days plus as you stated that green mossy stuff has been around the lights since I’ve bought it....I’ve tried to clean them with various brushes while on the car but I’m thinking of doing the same 👍🏻
This happened on my Ford Mondeo and I drilled a small hole underneath the light to allow water to drain if it gets in, which only happens when the jet wash hits the light. Seems to be a problem with the sealing of the lamp.
Trust me it still does get condensation bro there is a vent on the rear under the gasket ..I use black tiger seal otherwise the silicone looks horrible fella 😄🤗
Tony Prince I know, your questions is not pointing to me but I have done this mod and I like it. Its worth it. And to file out the little plastic spot is not that time consuming.
Tony Prince Yes. Plus that, driver and passenger window guards, from the brand Heko. Maybe dark rear windows inserts by Solarplexius or similar. Other than that, the extra Type-R logo on the front. A neo-chrome shift knob. I have spend (well worth) some money on a new double DIN radio unit. My 2008 model unit trashed itself-CDs no more readable. Wish I had the heated seats for the winter month but maybe I am better without it anyway, I mean its a Type-R lol
I've heard good things about this mod. I'd just rather try and get my gear selection a bit more reliable before I start messing with that. (which I have coming to the channel very soon 😉)
@@FNLEW i like your car mate ive watched you do it from scratch to look how it does now for a cheap mod ive heard lots of good things too im installing mine tomorrow deffo worth a shot when your ready 👍
And there will be a next time! Also fyi You can use silicone spray its a lubricant for rubbers its great on door seals and things like the light seal too.
