I find it so comforting to hear you talking about procrastinating projects, and the 'if I could somehow guarantee that whenever I sew I don't make mistakes, I would sew more - but mistakes are inevitable' - that completely sums up my own feelings to creativity

I started sewing two years ago. I sew more for my daughter than for me. She is so happy when she has the finished project on her, even with so many mistakes, she wears it with pride and tell everybody, that her mum sew it 😊 raglan sleeves are super cool and easy to sew 😊 youre repairs and changes are so good 😊

This kind of video is so useful. I am exactly that person that only sews stuff when I have a mad deadline to meet and then "good enoughs" my way through so many steps. It's rare that I actually go back and try to fix problems with projects that I've actually worn out. Realizing I have the power to alter my own clothes recently has changed the way I look at everything though...

I really appreciate crafters and creators who show the more frustrating parts of making cool stuff, where the problem solving doesn't always go smoothing and sometimes requires adjustments and flexibility that our perfectionism would otherwise disallow. Watching people alter, fix, mend, improve things they've made in the past is so encouraging to try to do that more often, instead of always just avoiding the improvements and starting from scratch!

Such a fun and cute saying "sewing is my cardio"! Your cat is adorable! Your idea about fixing projects is such a great concept! I have been watching RU-vid videos about hobbies and self-care like Diane in Denmark, who on her videos for Friday gives four self-care assignment to choose from like be creative, Kennedy on the channel Cozy K videos about cozy hobbies to try, and Mariane Cresp video boost your mood, where she talks about being creative too. I do not know you to sew, but I am watching videos to see what creative hobbies I might like. Therefore, I like how you mentioned you can come back to projects!

Your'e so fun! I've been playing your videos while I work in my sewing studio. I've been sewing my own clothes for over 40 years! Still learning and working on so many projects! Deadlines are the only way I get things done but then it's to the last minuet then I have to go back and fix things. I have about 6 disco outfits I put notes on to adjust but it's great! Never stop the creating even mistakes are great!

The last project makes me really want to finally add a fastening to the housecoat I got from my grandma's closet. All I need to do is add a button and a loop, yet I've just been continuing to wear it and holding it closed by keeping my arm tight against my side to hold the edge. I'm going to go pick out a button and some fabric for the loop right now!

Wishing you well with your pregnancy. Its nice to onow that I'm not the only one that has to go back and rework finished projects. Sometimes my body changes or weight fluctuates. My buttoles tend to be a tad too small and need a bit more cutting to work right. I made things for my kids but most of it was unisex. Also children's clothes were a bit more adaptable in order to accommodate growth. My favorite was the gown that fit from 5 lbs to 25 lbs. Something that could be worn for 10-16 months old. Some of my babies were huge and some small. So I think that the folded up sleeves are a nice touch and better with the frog closures. These days I bagged up most of the clothes that I made and gave it to my daughter for my grandson to wear. She is hoping to have a second child within a year from now, so they will work out nicely for a girl. I made another Hanbok for my grandson. Its his favorite outfit. My daughter is finally understanding why all clothes sewn or bought were a size too big. My mother always bought coats about three sizes larger my siblings and I. Clothes she made were about two sizes bigger so we would grow into them. That was just what everyone did back then, including the wealthy. At least I chose clothes and fabrics that were timless in design so the clothes going on down the line were still in style and not dated. Your video reminded me of a quilted jacket or coat I would like to do in velvet or dupioni. 😊

I love your videos your sewing is so inspiring! I wish I could find the video I saw of expandable kids clothes I think you would be interested! They have little buttons and zippers so as the kids grow you unzip/button the bottom of the pants or sleeves to make them longer and a little hidden piece of fabric comes out they are so cool:)

How did you redo the button holes on the first project ? Did you end up making them smaller? If so how ? Or did you just rip apart the old button hole and sew over the existing hole in the fabric again ? Thanks ! I need to redo some button holes…

yet again, why are you showing your child's face online. you can show your child and the projects you make for her without showing her face. do you not care about her privacy at all?
@withwendy
@withwendy 3 месяца назад
The clips with her face are repeats of things I’ve shared in the past, but ever since she turned two I stopped including her face. That was the boundary I always intended to hold so I hope that explains how there was face shown in the past but not anymore. I do care for her and I think it would be helpful in the future if you have to bring it up with parents/caregivers to do so in a gentler manner. Thanks for giving me a chance to clarify!
