You're right, the 911 sounds a lot better, great job you guys! The only thing, it may sound a. little louder after the tune. Great video, enjoyed very much! see ya!
MMR HR3 wheels! This not typically done but looks absolutely killer in my opinion. If you don’t think it looks killer, check your pulse. I don’t know what to tell you in silver not black whatever wheel you select not black.
I think the exhaust I seen looked the same except it had short glasspacks on it after the X-section. It was a really crisp sounding 996. All I remember about what he said about it was how much weight he saved over the factory exhaust. Ya know, paddock talk.
Dyno numbers are just numbers. Make sure the engine runs perfectly through the whole range, and enjoy it. Speed Density is for drag racing, which is usually where you see peak numbers. I'd be more stoked about what the power ramp and curve look like in various gears with a load based dyno.
The exhaust on my 986 right now had two individual lines, making it sound like two 3-cylinders. I believe it’s good to do this on even firing order engines like ours because scavenging doesn’t help as much as compared to an odd fire engine like most v8s. You do get a much smoother sound with that x pipe though
For sure, without having any type of crossover they just sound off. The Venturi effect the X pipe creates has to be a beneficial factor as well for flow
@@Smeedia I’ll be taking my muffler to the local exhaust shop next week to see what they can do for me in terms of adding a crossover. I miss the smooth sound! Also wanted to say that your channel is perfect for me, my friend has a Hawkeye Sti and this new 996 content is good for my 986 soul
Love the turn-downs + sounds a LOT better ... but the tip location within the cutouts is BUGGING me! I know it's a weird shape - but they could be more "centered" to cutout
We debated centering them but it looked off also 😅 someone brought up a good idea though. When we go EWG, route the dyno tubes next to the exhaust to fill out the cut outs more 🔥
@@Smeedia Love the channel as a whole ... Love it even more that you reply - most YT channels don't. With the EWG/dump tubes idea "filling in" the "gap" - LOVE the idea of it. Can't wait for the next vid and all after!
Sounds so much better!! But I was convinced you mentioned you were putting resonators in the x pipe? Maybe I’m tripping, but it’s not too loud still? Like it’s ok without resonators?
Not without redoing the down pipes. The opening in the inside I think we’re going to route the EWG dump tubes later on through there 🫡 should help fill it out
its better, but still the Porsche boxer don't seem to open up the throaty roar to exhaust mods the way an EJ boxer does..are those 200 cell cats or 300? I'd love to hear it with a mic, positioned above the pipes on the bumper,!
That X pipe did bring out the exotic sound compared to without it! Nice touch man. However, if you want to get more aggresive Flowmaster makes eco friendly 200 cell cats.
The angles are same same, but the spacing is sliiiightly different. The passenger side is 1/2” more inward than the drivers side due to doenpipe length. My fault when I made the downpipes 😅
Hey Tanner, I got a question about your garage/shop/ i'm looking to start doing the same thing you are as my home garage is getting too cramped to work on my car now. What size is your storage bay? 10x25, 15 x 30, etc? How much does it cost you to rent/lease that space every month? Is this this a chain or a private company? Thanks boss.
hey smeedia i got a question my car goes below idling rpms and sounds like it’s about to start dying and revs it’s self back out. vacuum leak or low compression engine? not sure what it could be
They won’t fit lol I have some and the 90s off the cats don’t allow it. Only way would be remove the cats, run cat less and push everything back. But I don’t wanna loose the cats
