I checked the paper input tray - all clear I checked the cleanout door - also clear Then I checked the paper input tray (which I wouldn't have done if it wasn't for this guide) and hey presto - one sachet of glitter was visible. Printer all working fine now. Thanks very much, I nearly sent it for service!

Thank you. I tried several of these steps, but it seems following this troubleshooting method in order dislodged the pen shoved somewhere inside of the printer. This video is a lifesaver... well a job saver at the very least.

Our printer wasn't feeding the paper properly. My husband told me to search the internet and we came across this video. You guys saved us money and a headache by uploading such an easy, informative video. We found the source of the problem was a piece of old, petrified string cheese that our 2 year old put through the printer feed. It was hard as a rock. Thanks!

What a fantastic troubleshooting video! My 3-year old daughter dropped a popsicle-stick like object in my paper feed. It lodged all the way into the bottom and was invisible from the top. Of course, when I needed to print an important document, I was screwed. This support mechanism is awesome! Thank you, HP!
Fantastic help video. Printer suddenly told me no paper when there was, could hear an an awful grinding sound of the rollers not taking the paper in. No paper jam, tried looking into top area for any objects, nothing. Turned the printer over as per video, Who knew there was a little clean out tray underneath!! clicked open the tabs as instructed, A CURLED UP ELASTIC BAND🙉 never would have found this item or its location without your video, thankyou thankyou a million times.

This video saved me from buying a new printer! The paper wouldn't feed and I learned from this video to check the cleanout door. There was a TINY piece of dried playdoh in there. I removed it and all was right again with the printer!! THANKS!!

My old 3050 did not work today after a long time where I haven't used it. I thought it was broken. Cleaning the rollers fixed the the printer, - I certainly didn't expect that! Thank you! It is a very good idea to upload these kind of videos.
Thanks! I have had this printer for about 6 years and never knew there was another compartment on the bottom. I found an old receipt that I had scanned there which fixed the problem.
Eureka!! I convinced myself that this video would not help me to solve the issue with my printer. I flipped it over and opened the underside and didn't see anything. I read all the comments her with people finding items in the bottom compartment so I reluctantly looked again to find a raisin, yes a raisin, stuck in the bottom of the printer. Raisin out, problem solved!! Thanks hp and youtubers!
I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was wrong with the printer. It wouldn’t feed and kept saying paper jam. Once I turned it upside down like stated in the video and opened the feed door it was a large paper clip blocking it this entire time! Thanks for this tutorial!! Saved my sanity and money lol

Perfect walk through that helped me discover a wire bread tie stuck in the clearing tray area. Thanks for saving me the hassle of trying to locate a new printer that used the same ink as cartridges I already have.
There is a simpler way to fix this. First, close the paper tray and front door. Second, unplug the power cord. Third, toss that shit in the garbage can where it belongs and get yourself a decent printer that is not cheaper than the ink.
Amen to that but this one is slightly more expensive than most of the "all in one" series. At least the version I own is with WiFi etc. and a backlit LCD screen panel built in.

...thank you ...I found a sealed cleaning wipe in the under carriage area where you remove the two clips ....no wonder the feed couldn't work ...can't believe it yet ...and I almost went out to buy new printer...great video ..thanks again....
Awesome! thank you. I really thought this video was going to not be helpful and after I did everything the video said I could not find anything wrong. Until I used a flash light on the bottom compartment and found a pen. Then the pen got lost inside the printer, but once the pen was out the printer was back to normal! Saved us so much money!
God bless this video. I just bought this printer for $10 off Craigslist and I did expect it to work (but if it didn't, $10 drop + $14 ink wasn't too much of a loss, given the upside). Anyways, right away it wouldn't feed. So being the tinkerer I was, automatically started looking for the paper jam (opening the under belly of the printer, etc) and couldn't see a darn thing. FINALLY, when I was about to give up, using a bright LED flashlight (focused on the 'paper jam tray' on the bottom of the printer), I saw something green and plastic. I figured it was probably part of the printer, but I investigated further to find it a VERY SMALL THUMBTACK! With some resourcefulness (I used a long skinny skewer (think long toothpick), I was able to pry it out of there (it was wedged in there WELL). And now? Voila! It prints! God bless RU-vid, this video, and the freakin' internet.
Thanks for the video! My problem was that a pencil had found its way into the paper feed, but only revealed itself thanks to tilting the printer to check the bottom area. I really appreciate the thoroughness of the troubleshooting.
much appreciation!! I was walking this printer out to the garbage because i couldn't find anything jammed... i took a second to google.. found this video, found the secret compartment on bottom... found a smashed printing peanut!!! saved me $100!!!
I had pen stuck in back part of printer with gray clips, go that out but it didnt work but cleaning gray rollers did the job, was almost ready to buy new one :-) you saved me some money, thanks..

Thanks for this very easy to follow video with clear instructions. Unfortunately, I did everything as shown but my problem is still not resolved. For several months, I had been getting the 'Clear Paper Jam' message every time I used it, which was very frustrating because I knew there was no paper jam and I could hear the roller whirring away inside trying to pick up the paper. So, I followed your instructions, and was really pleased when the paper actually got picked up by the roller for the 'Printer Report' and started to feed through and I thought my problem had been fixed. I was wrong. The paper stopped feeding after a couple of inches, and even that was excruciatingly slow going. Eventually, it spat out the paper with just some letters from the top line of the printer report. I have renewed both the colour and the black & white cartridges so it can't be that I'm out of ink. Now it's back to doing what it was doing before. Not accepting the paper feed, telling me there's a paper jam. HELP!!! What can I do?

Someone gave this printer to my dad i guess because it wouldn't print, so i couldn't sleep trying to figure out why.. So i folow the steps and In the flipping and opening the bottom little tray step i found a weird plastic so i removed it and then i made a copy and taraaaa! problem fixed.. thanks! Got my self a new wireless printer :D
I think that white bar with the rollers somehow got bent on mine. I never dropped the printer or anything, but it looks like the left side is pushing harder on the paper than the right. I tried cleaning the rollers and the paper still crumbles up at the bottom. It seems to suck to the left even with the paper guide set.

+fiQtionFree Yes there is one in every family! For a giggle I would go to the dollar store and purchase a piggy bank to put beside the printer for future deposits. Less stressful that way when you're trying to print.
My printer was pulling paper in crooked. I opened the clean out door underneath like in the video and found a small battery had fallen down there, After i removed it it worked perfectly. Thanks i was ready to go out and buy a new one.

Found a sunflower seed stuck in mine!! If you still have problems flip the printer over open the gray lid and push the black square tiles most likely something is in between them.
this helped and now I feel dumb. there was something that fell inside must've been years ago, but I couldn't see it until flipping it over and back. Thanks HP Support
hey great video! my printer problem seems to be that when i try to print a page it takes the paper but doesnt go down evenly. seems like one side drops quicker then it jams, any suggestions??

My little one dropped one of those mechanical pencil lead cases in the paper feed tray and when I tried to fish it out I accidentally pushed it in, how can I clean it out now?
