Dude your video saved me so much trouble, I've been replacing the valve gasket and tube seals every month thinking that I was installing them wrong but never thought about it coming up from the bottom of the tubes
Ahhh, so this is why there are marks inside the tubes on my Caravan. Someone has done this before and apparently it needs to be done again. Is it this simple on a Caravan 4.0? I have replaced everything that I could EXCEPT for this. I don't mind taking it all apart and doing this if this is the way to do it. Please advise _even if this is a 13 year old video_ it is still relevant today 12-21-23.
Thanks for the tip. Working on my cousins 97 Honda Civic spark plug wire boots from a generic set melted down all around the plugs now I got to pull the tubes out to get the plastic bits melted down there out.
thx i got 05 cts seems to be leaking from the bottom of the spark tube gonna pull it off and see if this helps tried tube seals for top but leak looks to be at the tube/head point of well not the top seal
What was wrong with the original? If that's a replacement, where did you get it? I was told that mine was bent and need a new one. Can I pull one out without removing the block? If so, please advise. Thanks in advance
mine dont move at all its a 04 D17a2 and after breaking spark plug off in #3 I also broke my extractor.... So I have a broken extractor in a broken plug down a spark plug tube... Now I am a poor person so I cant afford the $1200 the local shops are telling me (hits why I work on all my own stuff) are they only held my a sealant ? pressed in ? should I just fight it out ... if damaged where can I get a replacement tube ?
Lol I used a socket bigger than my spark plug and my socket got stuck on the plug. Ive tried to weld a extractor and still no help haha Really hoping I aint got ro buy a new head
BUTCHER, THERE IS A TOOL TO REMOVE SPARK PLUG TUBES, i came here see if i can learn something, all i see is a butcher, tool is sort of a internal pipe removal tool
Seems like the pliers could scratch or warp the tube and cause oil to pass by the tube seals on the valve cover. Maybe put leather or some tough fabric around jaws of pliers.
I'd be concerned as well, but scratches below the sealing surface won't matter. Those slip joint pliers he used hopefully gripped the tube low enough. I would imagine long nose vice grips could be more appropriate.
What you do is find a deep well socket that fits the diameter of the inner area of the spark tube. Place the socket on an extender and place in down the spark tube. Hold the socket by the extender to where a little bit of the socket is exposed just above the tube opening. Then use a pair of channel locks to grip about 1/4 - 1/2 inch down from the top, around the outside the tube with socket inserted. The inserted socket will prevent the tube from being crushed. Grip it and rock it back and forth and they usually pop right out.
Todd H Good idea. May still need to wrap pliers or tube with cloth to prevent scratches and gouges. However, cloth will cause pliers to not grip and slip while turning. However, could probably rock tube safely and rocking might be enough to remove tube.
@@toddh6234 yup, either a socket or a wooden dowel, get a dowel long enough that it sticks out the end of the tube after you insert it so it's easy to remove, stops the tube from being crushed/deformed.
for the 5sfe engine, to remove either use the toyota special tool or use the existing two nuts, wedge them together and loosen the tube. to install put the gasket sealer and screw it in the reverse method. this type of tube does not have the threads though.
i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Rudy Alec Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Guys, if vise grip not what u want. U can use water pump pulley removing tool with long socket to pull it out. OTC one is good for this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OU23_yUCVJE.html
