Such a huge improvement. Only thing I would add from my own collection is increasing the forward footprint of the stand to make sure that sucker isn't going to even consider diving - joy of having a cat.

Instead of the 2x6 brick, they should have given us two 1x6 technic bricks so there are more holes to adjust

I'm actually surprised Lego didn't design the stand adjustable to at least 2 positions like some previous UCS sets. The original year 2000 model UCS X-wing even had that feature.

If the Set would have included 1x2 instead of the 2x6 it could have been more freely adjustable. But thank you for sharing this really simple solution

Just modified it with this and now I know why LEGO had it originally displayed at such a harsh angle… lol they tried to make it look bigger to justify the price tag. Displaying it more leveled out makes it look a lot smaller especially when it’s next to the UCS TIE Fighter from 2015.

I had wondered why you didn't just place it sideways in the original review, since it was such a sore spot to you. This was a good clarification. I also assume that it would hit the ground if placed sideways in the original configuration, but it's hard to tell just from a video.

I suspect the current design was set that way to manage the centre of gravity and not stress the long wings. I'd be nervous to display it with the weight shifted forward.

Looks much better. Is the center of mass mostly around the cockpit so you’re not concerned with it falling forward?

I think Lego put it at that angle because it puts less stress on the wing attachments ? With a less extreme angle like yours the wings might sag after a couple of years on display ? Though I agree the default position looks terrible. Anyway, that’s the beauty with Lego, you shape it how you want it to be.

I enjoy stuff like this. There was a space shuttle a while ago that didn't have a hinged canopy, but just rearranging the parts provided I made a hinged canopy... added a bit of a feeling of accomplishment since I didn't need any additional pieces. No extreme balance problems with the new configuration?

another easy fix, is the targeting sensors are not mirrored properly. the top should be short and the bottom should be longer. at least based on reference. super easy fix. i also changed the griebling on hte rear wings to be better mirrored, since i think that looks better.

i have a question, if you link two motors to one battery box will one run in reverse, i have 2 trains and i just want to put the motors from both locomotives in a single one, but if i plug them both in the same battery will one run in reverse?

Why wouldn't they make it this way to begin with? I'm not a UCS collector but when I saw this, the angle it was in made it look bad. I have my Cobi Top Gun set facing downwards like the position at the end because it's also on a higher shelf
