Today, I show you how I fixed my hyperflash issue on my 2011 JK.
HOW TO DIAGNOSE HYPERFLASH:
1. Check if you have any disfunctional lights
2. Check fuses
3. Check wiring to turn signals & tail lights
4. Check load resistors
if you followed all those steps and couldn't fix it, trade in your JK for a YJ. ;)

Finally someone that takes the time to solder and heat shrink automotive wiring. I hope you waited for the wires to get hot enough to melt the solder instead of relying on just the iron to melt the solder. It would have been nice if you show and explain that on one of the soldering connections. Very good job young man. You are renewing my faith in your generation.

Just installed a complete suite of JW speaker products and have a right hyper flash turn signal issue. Guessing my rear resister is not well connected. I bought my system slightly used and during reinstall or removal that may have occurred. Looks like it is time to remove the rear tail light and check continuity. As always I am benefiting from those of you like Chris that have trouble shot this issue.

Checking the below question to you for a reply and re-reading - my question below is a mess. Here is what I have - my running lights/hazards all four currently work - and the left front bulb is not burned out for either filament, but the front blinker will not work at all - and I get a dash warning about a bulb being out and hyper flash on the left rear. Does that sounds anything like the issue you were having?
@lbantay
@lbantay 2 года назад
@@scubajim not sure if I had the same issue as you. I replaced my front and rear turn signals with LED bulbs. I was getting the hyper flash issue with my right turn signal only. I just assumed it was the front LED bulb since it was the last thing I changed. But, it was actually the relay in the rear turn signal that was bad. After replacing it like in the video, everything starting working as normal.

Any results? I installed XPrite rears, fine. Installed fronts, hyperflash. Just spent hours clipping in resistors up front and it didn't fix it... I really want to know if replacing the rears is worth it.. Ugh I wish the computer could just be altered to not think it's out in the first place...

Hi, like the author of the video I have a problem only on the right side. Had regular lights and the right turn signal gave me the error code and hyperflashing on the rear right LEDs., also the right parking light would not lite at all. Changed the 2 fronts to LEDs with built in resistors and still the same problem. No parking light even though juice is flowing from the wire and now front and rear right side is hyperflashing and giving the error code. Some other people have said you need to change the flasher relay and not bother with resistors. Anyone have this experience and fixed it? I tried asking the video author if his parking light had an issue but haven't heard from him.

I just added LED front signal lights on my JK....I also have LED taillights and have load resistors on the tail lights but I still have HF on the front signals. Wonder why the LRs in the back dont fix the front HF? Note: LED bulb replacements verses whole LED assembly's like you have. Any suggestions anyone? I'm going to try and install LRs in the front tomorrow but not sure which wires to go for (theres 3 wires into the socket connections)

So, you're saying that the front LEDs for turn signals don't need a load resistor if you have a load resistor on your rear LEDs? I do have LEDs in the rear and they came with their own built-in load resistor. never had a problem with them. but I'm having an issue with the front regular lights and thought I would change them to LEDs. Someone told me I need to add additional load resistors but according to your video I probably don't. What do you think?

Question for you the bracket you have for the load resistor where did you get it and how do you have them mounted in the rear?
@developmentdivision122
@developmentdivision122 4 года назад
Ryan O'Sullivan i mounted them to the body inside the jeep behind the tail light. I go over it briefly in the video. The brackets come with the load resistors. But if you want to make one it’s a simple 1/8-1/4” L bracket, maybe 2.5” in length.

Only connect the load resistor to the turn signal flash wire this way it only gets how when signal is flashing and not when tail lamp is on

I wonder if this could be my problem. I put a 2018 front bumper with factory LED fog lights on my 2016 Rubicon. My factory bumper didnt come with LED's, just the crappy halogens. When I plugged them in they started to flicker, So I'm wondering if i need a load resistor on my factory harness?

Se7vinDeadlySins I’m pretty sure you need an anti flicker harness. i have a video over one for my headlights. I don’t think a load resistor is what you need for that. Check the forums though, I’m not too sure.

Added the resistor to my rear LED tailight that had the issue....the issue persisted. I unplugged the rear tailight and saw the front still hyperflashing (LED Halo/blinker). I had removed the resistor but with the front headlight unplugged the taillight hyperflashed. I guess my question is, "Should I put a resistor on my headlight AND on my tailight? Thanks!
@developmentdivision122
@developmentdivision122 2 года назад
Worth a try. It sounds like you’ve tried both ends individually, but try with a resistor on your front turn signal and a other resistor on the rear turn signal. Some vehicles require one resistor per light, however I thought the wrangler had only one circuit for the turn signals (only requiring one resistor per side). Let me know how it goes trying both. It would be interesting if it still hyperflashes after that.

Most distressing....there's no reason I should need 2 resistors, one for the driver's front and one for the driver's rear blinker. I have checked 4 times and I have the correct 2 wires and regardles of solder or clips ....it just doesn't address the issue. I am going to switch back to my factor tail lights to see if that addresses the issue. I suppose you get what you pay for (ebay) but your description fits my issue exactly but the resolution does not work.

So putting that resistor on the back stopped the front from hyper flashing? Is there a resistor on both sides?

Yes, one resistor per side. You can have them in the front or the back, I chose the back because there is more space to tuck wiring.

Hello I just installed my RGB HALO tail lights, identical to the Sumpie brand on Amazon. When I tested the driver side it functioned correctly; but when I did the same for the right, the tail light displayed as if I had the hazard lights operating. I'm pretty frustrated, because I installed it, my first mod, and now I have to put the stock back on. could it be the load resistors doing this? I also installed the vostech 8 switch box console, I haven't installed the fron't lights, so You adivce is greatly appreciated.

Gerald Davis i would email the amazon seller. Possibly you got a bad product. Have them send you a new unit. If you have the same problem, comment back and i can help you trouble shoot. Make sure the connections were good. If you have aftermarket LED tail lights, and they don’t have load resistors, add them. You’ll need them.

I need your help or your viewers with another problem I'm having. I hooked up LED Halo headlights and it is interfering with my FM reception. It's not the headlights causing the interference it's my halos. I have the halos wired to my under hood fuse box accessories, so when i cut on the key the halos come on. When I unplug the halos from the fuse box the interference goes away. I've tried ferrite cores, ect. The only thing I haven't tried is connecting the halo wire to my turn light signal positive wire, so when i cut my headlight switch to on the halos come on. Do you know of a fix? Thanking you or your viewers in advance for help.

thats the stupid way of doing it , Adding leds reduces the electrical load thats a benefit of using LED , less electrical loads means less charging actually saves fuel too , adding a load resister to make it the same as incandescent puts the load back but is also a fire risk , change the capacitor in the flasher can and you can change the rate in which the light flashes you dont need to change the load.
