At first, when I started doing research video on this painting, I thought it would be hard to talk about it. After all, it's just a flag. What more can be said? But Jasper Johns' artistic process is much more interesting than "just painting a flag". He painted a Flag to focus on the technical aspects of painting. It's genius!

I've been searching for good videos about Johns in addition to literature I already had, and I have to say, this is one of the most brilliantly put and well-made videos on the topic of this particular piece of his. Thank you so much, and well done.

Ok is it a painted flag or a painted flag blew my mind. I Don’t think it matters ultimately as both are art. I have to admit I’m not as a big fan of John’s as I should be. I guess I don’t understand the nuisances or cleverness of his work. Take the obvious comparison to Rauschenberg, there the ‘art’ is much more obvious.
