@@buffalogail1337 Kody took to polygamy because he wanted to prove he could get multiple women to marry him & to prove to his Father he was worthy. Also he got authority from his Mormon polygamy faith to have complete control over his wives & ALL their children, eventually 18 kids What Kody did not understand was putting the messy marriages on reality TV would expose his incompetence as a father & multiple husband. Kody stole fr the family money pot for Robyn's shopping addiction & his own personal GREED. Kody is now scrambling to get the money he needs to maintain his upscale life lifestyle. Poverty is following him in the back window of his sports car.

@@buffalogail1337 Kody believes according to his ego & polygamy beliefs that HE ALONE owns & deserves every resource ($) that the wives earn & their homes. But so Robyn could qualify to buy her mansion, Kody took his name off the deed of Christine's home so he had no ownership of Christine's home when she sold it with her divorcing Kody so the equity in the home legally is hers. Quite frankly Christine deserved every penny she got from the house sale & more. Of course, Kody did not win Christine's profits & sure that caused him rage. Good he treated Christine like crap. You can bet Kody was in a bad mood LOL & Robyn got to hear how infuriated Kody was about that loss. Good for Christine!!

Yes, this young man has more emotional intelligence than middle aged Kody!

I know that Christine has said in the past, that Meri used to hurt her by making fun of her in front of an audience (especially Meri's family). However, I think since they are all away from the malignant narcissist duo (who I think fomented so much of the hard feelings and division in this family), Christine should give Meri one more chance. Maybe she has learned to not be so difficult. I really would love to see a reunification of this family, including any of Robyn's kids who want that as well, but NO ROBYN AND KODY PERIOD! They create nothing but drama and trouble. Hearing from Mykelti that Leon wants to rejoin her family after avoiding them for so long, and that ALL of the kids except for Maddie had gotten together recently did my heart good. Kody will always be a snarling angry mess, and Robyn is nothing more than a self pitying martyr. They don't need to be around anyone, because they will only demand things be done on their terms, and those days are over.

@@juliearnold5832 well said! Kody was granted.special immunity against covid so he could officiate a friend's wedding & dance like a buffoon because he is so precious. Covid would not dare stop Kody fr having his fun. Meanwhile Meri followed all the Kody/Robyn rules, but was not allowed to enter Robyn's home.

A couple of extra bedrooms would have sufficed for out of town guests. She didn't need FIVE bedrooms. That was simply her excuse to always have better than everyone else. Besides, as each of the mothers had children move away, they had extra bedrooms of their own to put their visiting kids in. Wasteful greed at its worst.

Not just the kids but space for her business. So she could claim the rent as business tax credit. But part was she had to have a big house same size as rhe other wives.

@@becky9103 Meri also needed the space to run her Lularoe business. Bedrooms have good storage/work rooms.

​@@IaneHoweMeri may have been indecisive about her love of Kody but even though she was kody's legal wife for years before offering the divorce so Kody could legally marry Robyn, Meri liked to use 1st wife power to control the other wives. Kody allowed Meri to wield power as the 1sr wife for decades. So no way was Meri going to rent a small ranch house in Flagstaff. Meri was duplicating her wet bar nonsense. She demanded a big house in Flagstaff because she ran a business out of the house & she would not down grade to a small house in AZ. She even had an elevator. That is Meri's MO. She liked power. She has a very strong personality. So Meri wanted to have a family get together at HER house. So at Christmas 2023 Meri wanted to do her Christmas Eve tradition of having ALL the kids come over. She used to sew the kids pj's. Kody seemed receptive to the idea UNTIL ROBYN came up with it would not be SAFE. That was the saddest I have felt for Meri. Robyn was being treated as #1wife as soon as Kody legally married her even though he never called Robyn #1 wife. That is why Kody wanted his sons to "apologize" to Robyn. And he never told the OG3 wives to bow to Robyn's will as his #1 wife. IMO Robyn was Kody's true "love" & Kody allowed her to destroy the 3 marriages & his 13 kids. Kody is weak & easily manipulated by Robyn's needs & DEMANDS. (end of rant)

The children & having so many siblings was the diamond of the show. None of these kids have chosen polygamy. I give credit to TLC for helping to open the eyes of the kids to have free will. And now 3 wives have been set free of Kody Cult tyranny. Good luck with Grumpy Kody & his giant EGO.

Meri didn't get more...she used 'her' money

Actually, what she paid into the family funds, helped raise the other kids, and heped with their College Education, and she helped Aspyn have the Wedding she wanted So, yes she had it one child, but she helped pay for 18

She could afford the $5,000 per month rent. Seems wasteful but Meri is a demanding wife just like Robyn. Kody picks wives who are controlling which means he does not have any skills to vet a wife. But isn't it about distributing resources to the family? It's not about how much they make. I think Janelle was the main breadwinner and divided the resources fairly. Meri always plays the victim and held a lot of resentment over not being able to have children. When there are that many kids to take care of, you don't need to hoard the resources for yourself. However, this whole lifestyle is stupid and a huge financial drain, so Meri could have just left and lived the life she wanted rather than sticking it out in a loveless "marriage" and expected to help fund everyone else. How Robyn got to be the queen who earned nothing, I'll never understand.

@@trishconklin2662 totally agree with your comment & distribution of money. Meri rented a $5,000 per month home with an elevator. I know she ran her clothing business out of the home. Why did she not just buy a house in Flagstaff & earn equity. No one even hung out at that home!? When they were poor & Meri took more resources than the other two wives who had 6 kids each & food insecurity it should have been corrected by their agreed husband Leader to correct the situation but he did nothing. Kody could have intervened, had a meeting with all 3 wives & resolved that Meri & Leon needed to help with the other kids to have adequate food. If Meri could see the need for Christine & Janelle to feed 12 kids & not help them, Meri was not a good sister wife. The Browns lied they were faking plural marriage once this show went on air. The only sister wives actually helping each were Christine & Janelle. Where Kody was in providing food for HIS KIDS is not clear. But you have 13 kids as a father & you are required to have at least a 40 hrs per week job with a side job or two

Yep. I remember how Meri seemed to enjoy when Kody was raging at Christine (the porch scene). She even said something like "I'm glad he finally said it". I think life has been tough for all of them. Kody being so strange... Remember Christine telling how one Christmas, Kody gave her lots of presents and Meri only got one. I remember the scene between Meri and Christine you talk about. Meri told Christine that she just has to put up with Kody's behavior and work on herself sounds like a terrible advice. I think it was probably typical AUB advice. Wives should keep sweet and keep the patriarch happy. It's not about the wives. They are just a part of the "big pitcher". I think that all wives + Kody were so immersed in their believe systems and what they had been taught about family, relationships, etc. The idealistic picture about sister wives on the porch, watching their kids and grandchildren play is something they are being taught. An ideal picture how wonderful life can be is a sister wife.

Best point ever referring to why Christine & Janelle are not close to Meri. She & Leon had food & other kids ate stale bread. Did Kody ever just eat stale bread?

Yes! And the way Meri bragged about her and Leon eating healthier than the others or “preferring fresher, healthier food”. Then, later saying, how Leon was over eating with her siblings a lot, because let’s face it, Leon wanted the junk food as much as any other kids. This is why one kitchen might actually be better if you are raising one, united family. And those funds should have been divided per person, not per wife.

@@lauriekurad it’s in the book, in Meri’s own words: she and Then Mariah preferred fresher, healthier food. Fresher/healthier food is more expensive.

Exactly! And it’s obvious from the book that didn’t happen. I’m just so disgusted by Meri bragging about how she and her daughter (at the time) supposedly “preferred healthier, fresher foods than her sister wives did”. Like it hadn’t even dawned on her that eating healthier cost’s MORE MONEY. Money that she apparently had and her sister wives did not.
