I give you a look at flaming Gorge Utah which is mos t definitely a fisherman's paradise Thank you for watching! If you would like to support the channel more you can become a patron at / sailingdoodles
I like how you repair everything that pops up. My dad taught me to fix stuff when I was young. I love that I can repair stuff now and not have to rely on other people.
Bobby, Finally getting around to watching this Channel.... 5 stars... used to glamp with my wife and kids with a 28 foot Springdale Keystone travel trailer that we pulled with my Eddie Bauer Expedition, Tempting to apply as the host for this channel.... but, I think it would be best once I retire.... The wife and I are planning on travel the USA once we retire in a few years and glamping is the plan... Currently I have a channel where I Coin collecting, keeping honeybees, farming and prospecting.... It is basically a vlog of my hobbies.... Great Idea this channel... Love ❤️ all your channels - long time viewer since season 1 of Sailing Doodles with Megan... THANKS CHRIS
Welcome to Tahoe. I live about 12 miles southish from the lake in the eastern side of the Sierra foothills. I hope you are planning to go down scenic US 395 in your travels. Lots of places to boondock including BLM-managed Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, Ca. In case you don't know, Alabama Hills is where they filmed about a gazillion westerns and other themed movies. Enjoy the area!
I've been going to that campground since 1958. That last time I was there was 2009, and was pleasantly surprised that it still looked and smelled the same as when I was a kid. A lot of great memories. Everything else at South Shore, has changed greatly, but the air still good. That campground is in a perfect location for an ebike. We used to rent Honda 90's across the street. I know that you will really enjoy the area. You will have to come back when there is no smoke.
Great to see you at it Bobby, Sorry about the triathlon, would have been cool if you had gotten a go pro on your helmet so we could have gotten a little peek. Reno is a good place to be broken down, I would have gotten you a beer if I had known you were in town, I live near Reno. Can't wait to see what you get into up at "The Lake".......
I was at flaming Gorge in 1972. There was nothing there except a store near the dam. You could just find a place to park in the forest off the side of the road and setup camp. When we awoke in the morning, Elk were grazing on the opposite side of the campfire. They barely looked at us while we ate breakfast.
I remember fishing the river below the dam back in mid 60's. Super fishing... My Dad drove school bus on dirt roads. He claimed 40 mph was the smoothest ride. I figure at that speed, I just hit the tops of all the bumps and fly over the holes. Smoooooth.
@@oldhardrock2542 I met someone in Salt Lake City who knew the son of the owner of the store at the dam. We met up and camped a couple days. Wish I had gone down the river.
@@pavichapin we were all sitting on a rock having lunch, I just finished my sandwich and crunched up a quart milk carton and was putting it in my pack when a Ranger came around the corner hotter'n Hell with a carton just like the one I was putting in my pack. He saw I wasn't the one throwing the junk in the river and sat down and talked with us for quite a while. A few years later, my new Wifey and I met her uncle and cousins on the upper end of the lake.we took off on his boat skiing and fishing. Beautiful. Stopped in a cove and we all threw lines out. Only one that was catching fish was Wifey. We traded her poles, used same bait, traded places with her. She still was the only one catching fish...
Wow! Beautiful area. The American west is a treasure. Another part of these channels I enjoy is the inevitable trouble shooting - repairs, which you make seem easy.
yep....you should just steer clear of "RV parks" and go for state/national campgrounds that offer full hookups including sewer hookups. No lines to wait on to empty the tanks and no parking lot style rv'ing you've been doing.
Congrats on entering a triathlon regardless of your results. As we age, even 5k races get tougher, so give yourself a break. Bummer about the wiring & battery hassles. I wonder if that rough dirt road did the damage? You make it look easy doing those PITA repairs. I'm sure you will enjoy Lake Tahoe, it's beautiful there. Thanks for sharing.
Steamboat Springs. I graduated from high school and learned to fly there back in the last century. Haven't been back in a very long time. Mainstreet had one stop light on it and the runway at the airport was much shorter than it is now, with a good sized hill on the west side of the runway.
Hope you can pass through placerville in your travels. Maybe the timeline is too far back and you are long gone from the tahoe area. Anyway beer is on me if you come out this way. I also have a plane here and i sail on the bay all the time. Cheers.
WE ride, on Harleys, all the time out west to Yellow Stone and with fuel injection it has minimum performance loss. We normally ride at 800 feet. A carburetor is what would not run well at all.
Bobby.............dude............where are the chicks?..............Also as you know many of us sailors are also pilots so I was wondering where Flying Doodles went. Keep up the good work!
What a beautiful place, Flaming Gorge reservoir, and a Must See on future RV trip! Not having a row vehicle, an E bike looks like a viable alternative. You mentioned before that hanging it on a bumper hitch stand isn’t very safe/secure, but getting inside our Sprinter based VIEW might be an issue. As for you & your triathlon, come on buddy, do you really need to prove something by participating in such a taxing event Without extensive pre-training? Sure, it is impressing that you tried, but come on man. Noticed you stayed at the GSR RV resort. Did you hit any balls into the lake?
Oh man bobby my brother lives in Minden next to Reno I know that area like the back of my hand I would of loved to meet up for dinner and beverages oh well you have to go to Yosemite it's a must do and you won't regret it absolutely awesome and beautiful
Bobby, the ebikes we use for mountain biking are easily fooled as yours is in speed. Simply add a another magnet to your spokes on the wheel your sensor is on.
I'm probably not the first to make this comment, but here goes.... While you were in Tahoe, you should have looked up Brady and Blue from Delos, they run a sailing school on Lake Tahoe now....
Suggestion, trade in the e bike for a motorcycle and bolt on a rear bumper mount MC hauler and ramp. It would increase the distance you can travel and would open up more social situations for the viewers. Ladies like to ride on the back of motorcycles.
It's a shame you didn't do some video of the Steamboat Springs area. It has a lot to offer. If you can do Linux programming, likely you can tweak your ebike controller even more. Of course, faster=less range. Also, Most locations have a speed limit for ebikes on bike trails which is usually about 20mph. On the roads, its a vehicle tho.
Nice video as usual, Bobby. Just one request-take it easy on the FFWD when there’s that many twists and turns. lol or else you’ll have to rename the channel Roller Coaster Doodles!
Bobby, I own a RV rental biz in the SF Bay Area.. you coming this way? Fleet week too 10/8-10/10. I’ve got access to a 172, let’s go up! Can help you with services, lodging and waste dumping.
@@GlampingDoodles Too bad… you should at least check in at the areas you’re visiting just so the viewers at home can cross paths potentially. Good entertainment nonetheless just wanted to offer something back.
From the regulations. "The use of drones is prohibited in Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. " You may want to edit this. The feds are known to enforce against prohibited use, such as this and near airports.
You were about 11 seconds shy of 10 minutes... didn't you teach a former up and coming student you tuber that videos over 10 minutes have some financial benefits? Nice vid btw...
next do overlanding 4x4 as that glamping is so boring for old people your young!! sht you spend more time fking around with broken shit than enjoying the time. Look into human drone taxi autonomous then you dont need license to fly and go where no one has been(250K)
