Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton was my home in the early 70's. It's entirely a Marine Base. There's a Naval Hospital with an associated complement of Naval personnel who work at that facility. I was part of 3rd Marine Air Wing • 1972-75

Bobby,just a suggestion. A company named Pit Bull makes a trailer restraint system for motorcycles. It is a piece that clips onto the rear axle and clips onto a metal strip mounted on the floor of the trailer. Nice quick and secure system.Easy to install and remove at relatively low cost.

Ocean-slime, I mean Oceanside was my stomping grounds from 80-89 in my Marine Corps days. I preferred Carlsbad and Encinitas to the south where I lived most of the time. We always said, "There's no life east of I-5." Great to be on the beach during those years. Much has changed. As for the base, CamPen is majority Marine Corps. The Navy Corpsmen train with us there, and the Naval Hospital is there, where my daughter was born, but it's a hard-core Marine facility. It's not the largest in the country, but has the most personnel. Twentynine Palms is by far the largest Marine Corps facility - and with a whole lot less personnel! Shout out to the 22 Area and the Vipers of 3rd MAW! Thanks for sharing!

Kinda fun story about the Top Gun house, my best friend's dad used to live next door. We used to laugh how the scene where Cruise comes blasting up the hill made it look like a long run. it was like a short cul de sac below the house. (At the old location) Great video as always

On this one it was so nice to see my old stopping grounds. hahaha I* lived in San Diego until I transferred with my company to Las Vegas where I retired, years later. :) But Ocean side and all that are was so familiar and it was nice to see it again. And honesty, it has not changed much since I was there. :) Thank you for creating this video and giving me some nice flashback memories. :)

That was a really cool one. My wife is from there and I spent 20 years in the Navy stationed in San Diego. I didnt realize there was an RV park in Ocean side its self. We go out there every year to visit family and stay at the Del Mar beach RV park on Camp Pendleton. Its a great spot and right on the beach. Because its on base its very cheap. Also Parlor Donuts is great, They also have a Parlor Donuts in Illinois. My wife and I found it last year. Same great donuts.

Yum...hand dipped corn-dog! I use the 'push up pop' method...but whatever blows your skirt up. 😌 Looked like a couple Ospreys at Pedleton. I live here so I see em allot. Carlsbad is one of the nicer towns to walk around and has good bar/restaurants. 🏖️

Great Video! But it's Oceanside...not Ocean Side:) Weird how places you've spent practically your entire life look so different on a RU-vid video. Someone should do a video on the history of the part of town where the Top Gun house is located. 40 years ago it was a VERY different place. It's really amazing how it's changed for the better!
