I recall saying that whenever Tiger won his SECOND major, then I knew he would start steamrolling his competition because I knew then his game was where it needed to be. He was riding too high off the '97 Masters and came down to Earth pretty quickly the next couple of years, at least in the majors. He needed this PGA win to realize it's not always going to be easy and that he would have to sometimes grind these things out. For the next 10 years, he just had that IT factor where he seemed to make clutch putt after clutch putt. He could beat his competition by lapping them or just by grinding it out, his mental game as strong as his technical game.
