We have a 2022 Ram 3500 pickup with the 6.4 Hemi and it developed a misfire several weeks ago but my boss said we are too busy to lay it up. We kept driving it until it.melted the converters out. Two days ago the Ram dealer calls and says you need all new CATS to the tune of $6,300.00. My boss learned an expensive lesson.

Maybe when check engine light flashes the navigation screen should display the Lost in Space robot and say, Danger! Danger! to get folks attention.

I learned something not to long but there is an exception to the rule of the most forward cylinder being #1, old school Pontiacs V8 are not like that, cylinder #2, on the passenger side, actually is the forward cylinder. I learned that from Golds Garage RU-vid channel.

Thank you Mr Kenny for the video. A little bit strange that all you did was basically moved the coil lol,but strange things have happened to me like that 😅 , I unplugged a MAF sensor plug and plugged it back up once, crazy thing started running perfect, no miss,no cough, nothing anymore. Guy asked me what I did? Basically nothing 😅😂😊

Darn good troubleshooter!! Im playing with a 2004 PT Cruiser GT. Its got a random miss and Im sure its a cam sensor. I dont know the history of it and it was given to me. 210,000 miles on it. Im tossing in a timing belt right from the start.

That is funny how it seems to run fine now. I've actually taken things apart that didn't work, tested each piece, (OK), put it back together and the assembly now works. Can't explain it, but like you said, maybe not making good contact.

I had a caravan once with a bad ground. Thing was, it misfired goign down the road, the minute you plugged someting in to the port to scan it, the misfire went away. Some other electronics were in and out too. I finally figured it had to be a ground so I ran a few wires form various bolts on the engine to the chassis and it was fine. I think when it had a broken motor mount the motor was moving so much it distroyed the ground/s.

Happened to me the same way many times. Everything tests fine, I get frustrated and just put it back together and...it runs fine...and stays running fine. I gave up trying to go back and figure it out.

I’m going to guess… O2 sensor picking up exhaust leak and over correcting by dumping in fuel. Also sensor and plugs are fouled because of closed loop fueling situation. Best of luck.

Or there was dirt on the contacts, or a little bit of corrosion, that made it intermittently go open circuit.

It depends on what plugs you're talking about. I'm assuming you mean the plugs for the coils and not the actual spark plugs. If you're talking about the coil plugs, the answer is no. If you put them on in the wrong order, you would have 2 cylinders misfiring, not 1. Its still a good guess, though. That mistake is made all the time.

Most ECus returned for repair are working correctly. The "repair" is by breaking and remaking the connection.

I remember when not so long ago you told us your self NEVER LIFT OUT OR PUT SPARK PLUGS USEING THE SOCKET AT ANY TIME NOW IT IS ALL I SEE YOU DOING I DID ask at time how would one do this when your fingers are not a pointy noise pliers even then you would have trubble socket is all have used Cheers Do it your way

A magnetic socket wrench is very handy - often saves you from removing other parts - example: leaving the intake manifold on when changing rear plugs and coils on a 3.6 Buick Enclave.

Don't forget that Neutral Profile Correction as it being unlearned alone after engine work or misfire repairs can cause a misfire. And of course clearing KAM. You're Welcome from the dead horse beater. 🤣🤣

A misfire doesn't bother me and flashing check engine light isn't concerning. But the AC not working is a major issue and needs to be addressed immediately.
